I looked up at the door when the healer poked her head in. "My Lady, we need you out here." She said and I was up and out the door.
"What is…" I stopped and saw a blood covered Maxwell. "Please tell me Logan is okay." I begged her.
"The king is fine, he has some minor cuts but I need you to help calm him down so we can treat his mother." She tells me.
"I can do that." I told her and I followed my nose and grabbed his arm as he had his back to me and when he turned around and slammed me into the wall his eyes red and he growled at me. "Love." I spoke softly trying to get him to come back to his senses,
His eyes went wide as he let go of me. "I am sorry I…"
"I know but you need to step out with me and let the Healers do their job my love." I told him softly as I grabbed his hand and tugged his hand as I stepped towards the door.
"I ca.." He started to say he followed me out the room.
"You can, we will sit out here with Maxwell and be here when she needs you." I told him. "Please do not make me have to shadow you out of here." I pulled him from the room and the healers rushed in and shut the door behind him.
"I don't want her to disappear again." He said softly as he sat down in a chair.
"I doubt she can disappear without Conner and Conner is currently making great friends with Xavier." I told him.
"They were living in the wall, no wonder we couldn't find her." He said softly.
"I know we never try to see what is on the wall." I remind him. "Your Mother was smart to hide in the one place no one would look. Let's get you washed up and go see Conner." I said softly, pulling him up and pushing him towards the washroom.
"Right." He agreed as he moved to the room and I closed the door behind him and looked at Maxwell.
"Bad?" I asked him.
"He killed Oliver." He said softly.
I closed my eyes and sighed as I tapped my head on the stone. "How can I help him?" I asked Maxwell.
"All any of us can do is be there for him. You more than most." He said and I sighed.
"Think she will make it?" I asked him.
"There's very few things that Blood can't fix." He reminds me.
"True." I agreed. I moved away from the door as he pushed it open and looked at Maxwell.
"Get cleaned up Teacher." He said as he pulled me to Conner's room and knocked.
"Come in." Father called out.
"Nicodemus." He said as he came in and sat down next to Conner. "Conner, Xavier."
"Logan." Xavier smiled at him.
"Did you find Mom?" Conner asked him.
"I did." He tells him. "The healers are with her now so hopefully we will have good news soon." Conner looked up at me and I smiled at him.
"Do you want to see another trick?" I asked as I sat behind Xavier. Both boys nodded their heads as I pulled shadows to me as I started forming animals.
"Oh wow!" Conner said as the horses ran down the air and around him and Xavier and then they collided and formed an eagle and flew around the room making the boys laugh and giggle when the door opened and a Healing assistant looked worried.
"Can we help you?" I asked him.
"I told you to knock! Always knock." A healer snapped at him as she pushed her way in.
"What is going on?" Logan asked.
"Young Conner needs some more blood. I apologize about this idiot." She said, knocking him in the head.
"Okay." Logan said as the healer's assistant brought in a goblet of blood.
"Do you want some?" Conner asked Xavier.
"No." Xavier said softly.
"Are you sure I have a second goblet for you?" The assistant said.
"My brother is not a vampire." I all but snarl. "Having him drink blood would be bad for him. I am sure Chef Vicky will have something for the guest soon and when she does then he will eat." I growled at him.
"Why can I not hear a heartbeat from him?" I glare at him.
"A spell I put on my son." Mother said as she stood behind him with a tray of food.
"EEEK!" The male shreaked and spun around.
"You're way too jumpy." Father sighed as Mother sat the food down in front of Xavier.
"OHHH!" Xavier said, taking the tray from her. "Vicky's cooking is second best!"
"From what little I can remember now of my time with Mother she was a good cook."
"Your memories are coming back?" The healer asked me.
"Yes." I told her.
"That doesn't sound right. Once the memories are lost in the turning they never come back." She all but snarls.
"It wasn't the turning that took my memories." I snapped back at her and narrowed my eyes and I felt the dragon on my back vibrate and snarl. The Healer and Healer Assistant stepped back from me as I looked behind me and there she was transparent but growling.
"That is enough." Mother said and vibrating stopped.
"I am not even sure how that happened…" I said softly.
"Oh they can do what they like to try and protect us when it's not necessary." Mother sighed as I leaned back and Conner made a face as he looked at the cooked meat.
"That smells funny."
"It's cooked meat Conner, it will always smell funny to us." I told him.
"She is right." Logan agreed. "You can leave now Healer, Healers Assistant." He tells them and they both sign and leave.
"So what happened?" Mother asked.
"We found my Mother." Logan said, leaning back in the chair.
"That is a good thing isn't it?" She asked.
"Yes but she was attacked there pushing as much blood in her as they can to heal her as fast as possible." Logan explained.
"Well." She said softly.
"Indeed." Father said as he got up and walked up to us and kissed my head and Xaviers. "I will be back. I have a meeting I must attend."
"Okay Father, Be safe."
"See yea, Papa!"Xavier said before he disappeared in the shadows and then Mother took his chair.
"So how is this going to affect the situation with us?" Mother asked.
"It won't, we will still be going to the tournament as we planned." Logan tells her.
She nodded, then we all heard a banding. Logan and I were up and out of the room before a second could pass.
"Let me go!" The older Vampire snarled at Maxwell.
"Mother!" Logan said moving to her. "Mother please calm down!" He spoke softly.
"Logan my son you do not understand! I have to find him!"
"Conner?" Logan asked. "He's here Mother."
Her eyes widened and she all but collapsed. "Thank death I was unsure if my power would get him to safety."
"We found him not too far from town and brought him here to be healed." I told her.
"Thank death you went for that ride." He said, looking at me.
"I just wanted to get out of the castle for a bit." I told him. "And spend some time with my siblings." I looked between them as she looked me over.
"Either way Love." He sighed. I smiled at him and nodded.
"Love?" His mother asked.
"Mother this is my Mate to be Diana Arcaria."
"It is nice to meet you Madam." I nod to her.
"Your mate? You found your Hotara finally?" SHe asked him.
"Yes mother I did." He said with a smile.
"This is wonderful! But what of your Father?" She asked.
"You haven't heard then." Logan sighed.
"Heard what?" She demanded sounding confused and on edge.
"Shortly after Oliver was banished to the outlands Oliver killed Father when he went to speak to him as he requested." Logan said. "I wanted to kill him but Dragul kept me from killing him, the softly."
"Where is Dragul?" She asked, looking around. "If I know him, he's a healer."
"According to everything he somehow had a clot in his brain burst but many of us believe it was something to do with his slevy gold digging wife that father made him marry." Logan explained sadness and pain laced his voice.
"I am so sorry, my son. What of Oliver now?" She asked the look on her face said she knew but she likely needed to hear it.
"I killed the bastard for attacking you and Conner." He explained to her.
She closed her eyes and Nodded. "I understand and respect your choice. Thank you for saving us." She hugs him and then she hugs me. "Thank you for looking after my sons."
