The last two weeks have been stressful to say the least. I sat on my bed and sighed as I rubbed my face and looked at my backpack. I decided to travel light. I didn't need much, plus I would be riding on Nightmare so I do not want to way him down too much just to be safe. A knock made me look up.
"Yes?" I called out.
"Hey we are all gathering in the great hall are you coming?" Loran asked me.
"Yes, I'll be there soon. I just need to grab my backpack, my sword and my shield." I said to her before she shut the door.
"All right Diana, it's time to put your money where your mouth is." I said looking in the mirror before I picked up my backpack. I grabbed my sword, buckled it on and then swung my sword over my shoulder, clipping it into place. "Let's see what Logan has to say before we leave." I walked out the door meeting Lauren in the living area where Mom was kissing Xavier on the head.
"Now you be good for Alexis and Regulus." She tells him.
"Yes Mom." he said and then he turned to me. "You'll be careful right?"
" Of course I'll be careful you just behave yourself, you sure Connor will be around soon to hang out with you."
"Yeah I know he said that he and his mom would come after everybody left." Xavier tells me.
"Aurora sure doesn't like crowds." Mother said sarcastically.
"I can't really blame her since she's been in hiding for at least a thousand years, if not more that no, probably more than that." Loren said from her spot on the wall.
"Come on, let's get going before we're late." I tell her before I drag her out of the sweet.
"So where exactly are we going?" She asked me.
"To the Great Hall."
"No I mean where are we going in their Clan Land their main capital, at tournament Hall where are we going?"
"To my knowledge the main capital."
"and no one has said anything against that." Mother said as she appeared out of nowhere.
"Dear Death mother!" I said almost jumping out of my skin.
"You just think after the last two weeks you would have gotten used to me showing up out of nowhere." Mother giggles at me.
" I don't think anyone would be used to someone just popping out of thin air unless they themselves can pop out of thin air." I argued with her.
"Your father doesn't seem to have any issue with it." She says with a grin.
"Father pops out of Shadows and even that still startles me from time to time."
"That's because it's your family Diana." Loren said. "Any other air user and Shadow user you're pretty much on them when they appear not scared like you do with your parents because you're not looking out for them as a danger."
"She has a point my dear." Mother agreed with her.
"I guess you're right I don't perceive you guys as a threat so I don't listen to you like I would if someone else was coming around."
"Exactly now, come." Mother said as we walked into the great home and continued up to where Logan and my father were.
"You are traveling extremely light." Logan said, looking at my bag.
"We are going to be there for maybe a week. I have a week's worth of clothes and things to sharpen my sword with. What else do I need?" I asked him.
"My dear there are not only the tournaments but the balls as well that we must attend." He reminds me. I restrain the urge to groan. "Worry, not my dear. I know how much you dislike formal ball gowns. So I had your mother and Alexis and Vicky work with one of the seamstresses and see if we could get something a little different done for you so that way you don't feel like you're a ball."
"Thanks the Stars." I groaned.
"Come let us eat and then we shall be heading out." Logan says, leading me to my chair.
"So everyone who is going is here?" I asked, looking around the room.
"Most but not all. Also I have supplies for our people and our guests coming with us in a wagon behind us. Which will include your dresses." I rolled my eyes at him but not anyways.
"I think you'll love what we did." Alexis said from her spot. "We made sure your sword would fit with your dresses as well."
"How did you manage that one?" I asked them.
"You'll see when you wear them." Mother said with a soft smile.
I wanted to argue but I figured it would be foolish to do so. "Very well." I said taking the Goblet of blood from Leo. A moment later the door to Kitchen opened again and Vicki and some of the other kitchen hands brought out breakfast for them. However he was placed in front of me and Vicky just simply smiled. I smile back at her and then continue to sit my blood switching back and forth between the two.
"I have a feeling tea is going to be one of our Major Imports from the outside world." One of the elders jokes.
" It is quite good." Matthew agreed. "Though I think things that can actually be digested will be something that has been majorly sought-after by the Clans."
"True. Blood and meat are great But after a while I can see why everyone gets bored with it." Logan said.
"Not to mention a lot of the blood that we have access to is very bitter. So anything sweet like the honey in the tea is almost unknown to many of us vampires' taste buds other than those old enough to remember before."I say thinking about it.
"You have a valid point." Matthew said, nodding.
"However I can and will say Coffee is not going to be an important item." Logan said glaring at his son.
"I only had a sip." He said in his own defense.
"That's my point, you had a sip and you were higher than when you had them. And when you had Venom you had a complete goblet full of it before we realized what happened." Logan counter argued.
"He has you on this one Matthew just give up." Father said, chuckling to himself.
"Oh come on why is everyone ganging up on me about this." He all but whines making half the room laugh at him.
"Because somehow some way you keep getting high as fuck on things you shouldn't have." Logan said glaring at his son.
"Come on, it's not my fault!"
"Matthew Logan, how about we just drop it". I said looking at them.
"So what's going on with Nana?" He asked, looking at his father.
"Mother wishes to remain here with Connor and Xavier. She's agreed to help Regulus look after Xavier for the two weeks we're going to be gone."
"So are we going to send the child abuser back to the camp or is he staying there until we get back and leave the area?"
"I had your father don't pay him off leaving the camp last night so that way it was all taken care of." Logan said when wincing at the glare that came from both my mother and I.
"I guess that is probably for the best." Mother said after a moment.
"Why don't you try to make a run for it though?" I asked.
"I know the man is too self-assured that he's going to get away with everything he's done in the past." Mother sighed.
" Not if I have anything to say about it." I growl at her. Then she simply looks at me.
"And not if there's anything we have to say about it, remember my dear I have much more power with the council than you do and if need be you can press charges vea vampire law as it was done on your land." She reminds me.
"True, very true." I agreed with her as I drank the last of my blood. I pushed my chair back and stood up. "I'm going to saddle up Nightmare and get ready for the road. I'll meet you all by the Stables". I tell them as they give me various forms of affirmative answers whether it be yes my lady arnaud and of course my love for my mother's case okay dear.
I sighed as I held the Bridle and saddle off of the wall as I walked into the Stables.
"Milady, you're here before everyone else." The stable hands said, looking at me.
"Indeed I wanted to brush Nightmare before heading out." I nodded to him as I carried on to were Nightmare was kept. I walked into his stable and petted him. "Hey boy you're ready for a really long ride?" I asked him. He threw his head back and whinnied at me. "Yeah buddy I know you love long rides." I giggled as I continued to brush him thoroughly before putting the Bridle and saddle onto him and hooking my bags to the end of the saddle.
