Chereads / Lady Vampire / Chapter 32 - Chapter 32 Dinner

Chapter 32 - Chapter 32 Dinner

I laughed as I walked out of the assassin wing. I could not wait to see what happened. Leo was heading back to his kitchen, his eyes hard as I grinned he would be sharpening all the knives of the kitchen and anyone else to calm his current rage. The Hag would likely be looking for a way to play that the delegates were a risk. I made a raven as I stopped at a window. "Uncle, I need to speak with you if you have time tonight. We have the hag coming and I need advice on how to handle her if she goes after the witches as glorified humans." I told the raven before it shot off. I sighed and I started walking toward my next stop, the old meeting room where delegates of the clans have their own crest on the chairs. I stopped at the guest sweet where Maxwell joined me.

"My Lady you are a hard one to pin down." He tells me. I scoff at him.

"I was in Marlic's room speaking to him about more protection for our people." I huffed him.

"Would he not want her dear?" He asked me.

"Of course he does but that does not mean he can not be mission-oriented. He will be in the Page hall." I told him.

"Good, that is where he needs to be." He said as I opened the door and Jason looked up at us.

"Jason I need a favor." I said softly.

"What can I do for you?" He asked me.

"I need some crest changed on some chairs but we have no earth/plant elements in the castle at the moment." I told him.

"Yea I can do that." He said standing up. "I take it this has to do with the visitor?" He asked me.

"Yes, I want to make sure we have everything in order in case she demands to speak to the delegates." I sighed.

"Do you really think King Logan would let her meet them?" He asked me.

"No, but if she does do something stupid then we need to make sure that we are ready no matter what." I told him.

"Okay." He said as I led him to the room.

"Whoa, this place is huge." He said as I pushed the doors open.

"It's also really dusty." I said swiping a finger along with the dust covered table.

"Indeed." He agreed.

"Okay so how are we doing this?" Maxwell asked me.

"And what are you doing?" Logan asked.

"Well, I figured we could have the meeting here since I don't know about you. I want her as far away from the Page's as we can get with her here." I turned and looked at him. "I figured we could get this place cleaned up and have Jason here change some of the crests on the chairs one to the dragon clan, one to the Turtle clan, one wolf, and one that has an H for Norman."

"I thought we were keeping them away from her." He said.

"And you should." I hear.

"Uncle, welcome back." I said. "I did not expect you to be here yet."

"The Hag is not someone to be taken lightly. I will join my Nephew and your Mother for the day. But your point of her trying to make witches elemental wielding humans is a valid concern. One that we will need to make sure does not stick." He tells us as he clapped his hand and a wave of shadows covered everything only to sink into the stone and left the room spotless. I blinked a few times. "I would also do your best to keep your father away from her."

"Why?" Logan asked.

"She tried to kill Regulus so she could mate with your Father."

I blinked and rubbled my nose. "Well then."

"Indeed." Logan groaned.

"I will behave myself in an appropriate way becoming a Northern Advisor." Father spoke as he stepped out of the shadows with Xavier on his shoulders.

"Diana!" He said waving at me.

"Hey buddy, what are you guys doing?" I asked them.

"Papa was showing me around the dark areas of the castle." He tells me.

"And does Mother know this?" I asked them.

"Momma is on the phone with the counsel and Daddy is making sure she doesn't blow something up." He tells us.

I stopped as something hit me and I groaned.

"What?" Logan asked me.

"We need to add more guards to the child abusers room." I sighed.

"I did that." He tells me.

"Good." I sighed. "I would love for I'm to be killed in an altercation with her that would look bad on our part."

"Sadly you are not wrong." Logan agreed.

"Well, I for one just want to get this over with. However, I am not looking forward to sleeping today." I sighed as I rolled my neck.

"That's right your memories are coming back today aren't they?" Father asked.

"At least the start of them." I shrugged.

"For now let's deal with one thing at a time." Uncle said.

"Agreed." Maxwell nodded .

" I believe Leo is working on getting knives sharpened and getting Mitchell into the kitchen." I tell them.

"You've already spoken with our spymaster I take it to?" Logan asked me.

"I knew you'd be busy with the kids so I took it into my own hands to get the rest of the preparations taken care of. Was I wrong to do so?" I asked him, raising an eyebrow.

"No." He chuckled. "If I thought you were in the wrong I probably would have done more than asked if you had already talked to our spymaster. You are my lady and you are as much in charge as I am."

"I see. So what is left? We've got the spies, the guards, the knights are all in place and the meeting room is set. Now is it just a waiting game or is there something else we need to do before she arrives?"

"Now my dear it is just a waiting game." Both my uncle and Logan said almost together.

"Very well. I said and then turned to father and Xavier. Were you able to choose a charm?" I asked him.

"Big sister Lauren took me." he said Softly.

"Which one did you pick?" I asked him.

"The one that looks like a dragonfly." He tells me.

"Then tomorrow you and I will need to hit the forge." I told him.

"Really you will make it for me?" He asked me.

"Of course I will." I told him.

"Thank you." he said, almost going into a tiny voice. I just smile at him while ruffling his hair.

"No problem little brother." I said to him.

"So." I stopped as the bell rang. "It's already the Midnight Hour?" I asked more of myself than anybody else.

"Indeed my lady." Maxwell said, raising an eyebrow. I just simply sighed and shook my head.

"Well then I'm going to steal Xavier because we need to talk to Mom and we have practice until dinner time which we have plans for."

"Wait, we do?" Xavier asked me.

"Yes we have a family dinner Tonight."

"Will uncle Varance be there as well?" He asked.

"Well little one that is completely up to him." I said, patting his head before I took him from my father and let him walk. "I will see whoever is coming."

We worked with Mom for the next several hours until a knock came to the door. I open the door to see Logan, Matthew, my father, Regulus and my uncle standing there. "Welcome, welcome come in.

Mom and Xavier quickly cleaned off the table. "Come join us at the table." Mother said as we all moved over there taking our places.

"Dare I ask what this Tower is that you keep mentioning?" Mom asked me after a moment.

"The Tower is my home." Father said. "When we are not here at the castle it is our home, it is our house and it has the second largest Library in the vampiric nation."

"Indeed and that is part of the reason why people try to break into the tower so much. Dad has a lot of old and new information and a lot of old case files from The Originals." I told her. "If there's time between now and the tournament I'm sure we could take a trip over there."

"Something I just thought of something we need to figure out now before the tournament: where is Xavier staying? I don't trust half of the Clans not to try to steal him And most of us are going to be at the tournament." I asked them.

"Ummm if it is all right with your mother I don't mind watching Xavier for a couple of days while you guys deal with the tournament." Regulus offered.

"While I would normally agree with that, I do have a slight issue because of needing to re-add the spell for his heart beat." Mother says.

"We could leave Alexis here with them; she'd be able to reapply the spell." I suggested.

"I will speak to Alexis and see if she will agree to that." Mother nodded.

"I'll also have some of the torrent guards to help out with the security of Our Guests. I'm sure both Queen nightshade and Queen Nightworth will also be putting guards for their security." Uncle spoke up.

A knock on the door made us all look up. "Enter." I called out.

The door opens and Vicky Leo and Michelle walk in. "Night blessings. We've come with food." Vicki said with a smile.

"Thank you. Chef Leo Chef Vicky I hope after this delivery you are retiring to the guest Suite?" I asked them.

"Indeed my lady." Leo said.

"Very good, very good, enjoy the rest of your night and have a great rest today." I said before they left.

"Let's hope this night ends peacefully." Logan said.

"I agree but when it comes to that lady she does tend to push in the wrong direction My friend." Uncle said.

"Let's hope she doesn't push in the direction we hope she doesn't because if she does I cannot promise not to start a clan incident if she goes after my family." I said taking a bite of meat.

"And you would not be the only one part of that Clan incident." Father agrees with me.
