I looked up as the door opened Xavier had fallen asleep in my lap a few hours ago. "I hear I have a messenger." Father said as he and Mom walk in.
"I will take him." Mom said as she smiled at me as she walked up and picked up Xavier.
"Thank you." I said as I stood up. "I lost feeling in my legs about 20 minutes ago. " I said softly.
"I bet." She laughed "I will take him to bed."
"I'll walk you back to the room. "Father this is Knight Yohan." I tell him.
"Greetings Knight Yohan." He said as I walked with mom out of the office.
"What does he want?" Mother asked as we moved farther away from the office.
"I don't know the message wasn't for me so I didn't actually ask." I said as I opened the door.
"I understand that." She said softly as we walked to his room.
"I am just glad he was able to find the office." I sighed as she puts him on the bed and we shut the door.
"What happened?" She asked me.
"I think he may have an astral projection. He said he saw his father try to hit you." I said
"Ohhh yeah that did almost happen. Your father didn't like it. He pinned him against a tree and told him where he could take and shove his temper." She chuckled as we entered the sitting room. "It was rather amusing." I smiled at her.
"I'm glad you're safe." I said softly.
"I'm glad you are safe my dear. I know your Dad would be so proud of you." I felt a pang. I was almost scared to ask about him. "If your Father is the kind of male I think he is then he won't care if you ask about your Daddy."
"I know he won't but at the same time." I said softly and sighed.
"I understand." She nods. "When your ready it will be good for both of us to talk about him." She said before she yawned.
"Head to Bed mom." I tell her.
"I was planning on it then your boyfriend showed up at our door." She said standing up and opened the door and Logan blinked as he looked like he was about to knock.
"Air users." He muttered. "Days blessing Lady Carniola."
"Day's blessing King Logan." Mom said as she stepped back letting him in.
"My King," I said rising, meeting him as he walks in the room.
"My Lady." He said. "How many times must I tell you to just call me Logan?"
"More than a hundred." I said.
"I probably told you that the first month you were my squire."
"Indeed Logan what can we do for you?" I asked.
"You know me far too well my Lady.." He said as he pulled out a coin. I blinked as I took the coin and then smile.
"When and where?" I asked.
"In about an hour the main guardian." He said.
"You hate the day." I said looking at him.
"I dislike how bright it is but we do have some flowers that only bloom during the day." I Smile at him.
"The day lily's are beautiful." I agreed with him as I hold the coin tightly. "I will see you then." He kissed the back of my hand and then turned and left.
"Good day Lady Coriola." He said before he left.
"What is that?" She asked as I hand her the coin.
"It's a coin. Each family makes them and they are used to ask your courtee or courter to go out with you. They are made out of some type of metal and made by hand. Speaking of which, I need to get some gold and copper." I said thinking about how I want to make my coin. "I also need to see if Dad has the Arcaria coins or if they are at the tower." I said. "What does our family crest look like?" I asked her.
"The dragon coat of arms looks like this." She said, pulling a necklace out from her shirt and handing it to me. "Your dad made me that you may keep till you make your coins if it helps you think of a design." She says I smile at her.
"Thank you." I said softly
"You are more than welcome. Are you going to need a chaperone?" She asked me.
"No after the asking the public meetings are not chaperoned but say a private dinner is a family affair." I tell her. "That's for the first 6 months."
"How long does a courtship last?"
"The shortest ones are a year; the longest one was 20 years." I said as my father walked in.
"That is a long time." She said blinking.
"Most last about 5 years." I tell her.
"And I need to go to the tower and get the family coins." Father said as he sits in on the chairs.
"So I am going to have a mom and three dads?" I asked them.
"Yes." Father said. "And don't you ever feel guilty about asking about the Dad that has passed on."
"How?" I asked, blinking at him.
"Because I know you." He said. "You have always wanted to know about your past but you never let it rule your life." I rub the back of my head.
"True." I said blushing.
"When she goes to have her date with Logan I would like to talk to you about how you found her." Mom said to Father.
"That would be acceptable." He nods.
"I am glad you asked to talk to him after I leave. I don't like to think about that time." I said rubbing my arm.
"I didn't think so." Mom said softly. "Diana." She stopped as something began to ring. "Hello?" She asked as she pulls out a small square box. "Yes no… I am going to divorce him... Carl if you try that I will personally fry your ass."
"You can not tell me that you're going to divorce him he was the husband we the council picked for you!" A male voice said coming from the box.
"Carl there is no need to yell and I will divorce him after he attacks our son oh and I am going to have him arrested as well." She stopped and seemed to listen. "Diana love what's the punishment here for attacking a child?"
"It depends on the severity of it. If it was like how Xavier was they would be sent to the mines." I said tilting my head. "The mines are dangerous but I know some clans will kill for harming a child."
"Well you should be glad I don't press charges with the Vampire ways because he could be living the rest of his life working in a mine or dead." Mom spat out. "Have a good day!" She taps the screen with a growl.
"What is that and who is carl?" I asked.
"Carl is the annoying male witch from the council." She signed. "And this is what is called a cell phone." she said. "I honestly forgot I bought it with me. I am surprised I have a signal."
"If it is similar to the ones that the scientist used then there's an old metal tower that they would complain about all the time it's covered in vines now but it's still standing."
"It's probably is." She nods.
"Well, I am going to go change." I said looking down at myself.
"Are you actually going to wear a dress?" Dad asked. I gave him a look.
"No." I said standing up and went to change. I would need to pick up a bracelet for the coins. I pulled the necklace into place on my neck and then grabbed my Arcarian necklace as well. I pull the bread from my hair and pull the fronts back and clip them back. I kiss the coin and head back to the sitting room.
"You let your hair down." Father said as he looks up at me.
"I know it's odd huh?" I asked him.
"Yes." He laughed softly as he holds out a bracelet. "I made this years ago for you." He said take the coin from me and put the coin into the bracelet. Before putting it on my wrist.
"I see you're wearing both crests." Mom said.
"How could I not?" I asked them. "I will have to make one for my self-sense Dad made this one for you mom." I said softly.
"He made one for you as well it's at the house it was the only thing we could find of yours it was in your Dad's hand when they found him. I had to get a new chain for it though. It seems to have been snapped off your neck." Mom said tapping the dragon crest. "We will see you after your date goes before you are late and I do not think that would be a good idea." She tells me with a light push.
"Yes, Mom."
"If You need something you know to call." Father said and I rolled my eyes.
"This is our king Father not some random boy." I laughed as I walked out the door and I headed to the guardian.
