"I have been meaning to ask but do Witches age differently than humans?" I asked.
"We do." Mom said. "For every 6 years a witch will age one year." She said.
"Oh wow."I said.
"Werewolves age one year after 10 years." Tacal said.
"We Vampires who are born age about one year ever 25-50 ish Honestly we aren't sure we grow quickly between birth and 50 then it almost like watching a rock erode for us to age." Mathew said.
"I mean that makes sense." Mom said with a yawn. "Some of you are old enough to be from the first generation."
"Very few." I said.
"Oh?" SHe asked.
"There was a war in our lands about 2500 years ago and many of the originals died then." I shrugged.
"Yea and then we came up with the tournament system to keep from having any more wars." Matthew said as I leaned back as the kitchen door opened.
"Well, that was fun." Vicky laughed as she carried two trays of plates of food.
"That smells but disgusting and delicious." Matthew muttered.
"Cooked meat." I agreed with him.
"Indeed." He nods.
"Sorry for the wait." Vicky said as Leo bought my tea and Mathews coffee to us before he helped Vicky pass out their food.
"Thank you both." I said as I sipped my tea. "Leo join us." I said as he was about to leave.
He opened his mouth and then closed it at my glare. "Allow me to get a goblet of blood my Lady."
"Of course." I nod.
Vicky blushed as Jason grinned at her. "Don't you dare." She hissed at him.
"Once you are done eating I and sure both Leo and I would like to know your courting rituals so he can try to follow both of them if possible." I said as I sat my cup down. "This is very good by the way."
"This is delicious." Mathew said all but bouncing in his seat.
"Ohhh." Vicky said. "I'm not sure how coffee and Vampires get along. You look like you're about to bounce off the walls, your majesty."
"I am not sure about bouncing off walls but I feel like I could run laps around the castle." He laughed.
"Yea maybe only one cup of coffee for you, Prince Mathew." She said as she watched him.
"But it's so good!" He whines.
"It may be good but I am not sure how good for you it is." Vicky said as Leo sat back down.
"I have to agree with her Mathew." I said. "The last time I saw you like this you got a hold of a bad back of blood that had venom in it."
"Oh fine!" He huffs as he sits back with his blood.
"Venom?" Mom asked me
"The snakes around here venom makes us loopy." I tell her. "I know not if it would be the same on the outside world."
"I see that is okay I would rather not test it." Mom said as Leo came and sat beside Vicky. I leaned back as I sipped my tea.
"Day… Who gave you venom?" Father asked Mathew.
"Not venom it's from Coffee." He said.
"Okay no more coffee for you!" He said as He sits next to me. "Day's blessing everyone."
"Day's Blessing." We said as Leo went to get up.
"Sit." I tell him and sent a shadow to get Dad a goblet.
"What is that about?" He asked.
"Someone found his Hatoro in Madam Vicky." I said. "I thought it would be best to take notes on the courtship traditions and see how badly they clash or how good they mesh."
"I see." He said and then he turned to me. "And what do you have?"
"Tea." I tell him as my shadow came back with two warm goblets of blood.
"I see." He said as I picked up the goblet and hummed as I drank my breakfast.
"Well, we know how to give any on-the-pages coffee if Mathew is what happens when you drink it." Dad said
"Yes I would have to agree." I said
"So why does your smell like lighting and shadows?" He asked me.
"Oh I got my magic back and I think my specialty is lightning-based since both you and Mathew said I smell like electricity." I tell him.
"Your magic back?" He asked.
"Apparently my dragon has been holding my magic back from me as well as my memories."
"Oh and we finally get to know if her and Father are Hatoro." Mathew said as I spat out some blood.
"Mathew!" I snapped at him.
"What it's true I swear if you're not it makes no sense you are perfect for each other." He whined. "I know my mom wasn't his Hatoro, they were an arranged marriage."
"I take it the bond was blocked as long as your dragon held your magic?" Dad asked.
"Yes." I sighed.
"Well if it is Logan then I get a lot of Polto coming my way." He sighed,
"You gambled on who my Hatoro would be?" I demanded from him.
"It started as a small wager between Lord Philips and myself and then went from there." Father said. I huffed.
"Mathew got some of that energy and go for a run." I tell him as he bounces in his seat.
"Oh but."
"Your father will not be in the dining hall for at least three more hours." I remind him.
"Point." He said getting up. "I will be back!" He said as he sped off.
"Well, I have to say he's faster than he was on venom." Kat said from her spot on the wall.
"Indeed." I shake my head. "We are all going to need to keep him away from your supply of coffee. As well as every other vampire."
"May I?" Dad pointed to my tea.
"Be my guest."
"Oh." He said after tasting it. "If it was not as sweet as it is it would be good."
"Sorry I made it how Jason likes it I can get you a cup that has less sugar." Vicky said.
"I would appreciate that Madam Vicky." He said as he passed the tea back to me to finish.
"I will be right back." She said as she gets up and heads back to the kitchen.
"And she wasn't glared at because?" Mom asked.
"She's the one who knows how to make it Leo would hide in his kitchen." I tell her to make Leo sputter.
"I want to say you're wrong." He sighed as he leaned back against the chair. "I do tend to hide in my kitchen.
"My sister does that too."Jason says as he continues to eat.
"Well, you have two chefs. The kitchen is their favorite place." I joked.
"I guess you're right." Jason agreed
" I should hope I don't hide and they're always." Leo was blushing at this point and had his face hidden behind his goblet.
"So what can you tell us about the clan leader who should be visiting today." Tacal asked .
"Well." I said as I lean back thinking of how to describe her. "She's not the most obnoxious person I've met; she's the second closest. However, unlike Gareth's young fool she understands how and when to jokes and when not to joke. she's the second leader of this clan after she murdered her Tyrunt father."
"Oh." Mother said as she leans back. "She sounds like a regular prankster and a good leader."
Father laughs as he shakes his head. "Nine times out of 10 she ends up coming to her aunt on things that need to be done and her clan wise she's still a little too young to fully grasp how to rule without assistance."
" I don't know anyone who starts off knowing how to lead. It's a trait one must learn. And you can only learn it through trial and error." Mother says she finished the last of her food.
"True true." I said nodding my head. "It took me a year to figure out how everything was right when it came to the paperwork and then helping with the lady Knights and took me even longer. however, I do believe that is why I have been given the position of first lady."
This is true, father said nodding along. "So I also think it has to do something with King Logan."
"Anything's possible." I say to him.
With a Sly grin, he took the cup that Vicky was giving him.
"You know something don't you?" I asked him
"Oh, you'll find out soon enough my dear." Father says with a smile.
"Well let's see how today goes and who knows maybe we won't lose anybody to die." I sighed as I stood up. Kat looks at me and not as she pushes herself off the wall and walks to the doors.
"May I ask what you're talking about?" father asked.
"I had Sarah keep people out of the dining hall how they ate. Alright, let's go ahead and let everyone in, and let's see how this goes."
