Their way home was as easy as Dayanara expected. She thought some kind of villains or criminals will block their way considering that they are with a survivor of the attack. As soon as they got home, they immediately went inside, locked all the doors, windows, and any possible ways to get inside their house. They are really worried about their son, and it seems like their son is worried for himself too. It's visible on his face.
For the first time ever, they saw emotions in Callum's eyes and face. He was scared, frightened, and worried. Callum didn't expect seeing like that up-close. And he was even involved. He's just thankful that he inherited her mother's power. His super strength helped him survive that attack. For a second there, he taught that it will be his final moment in the world. He almost gave up, especially when he saw that the classroom he is in started to be devoured by uncontrollable fire.
And for a quick moment, he thought that he saw Loralai on the far side of his eyes. It was just a moment, but he thought that he can't be mistaken. Callum believes that he saw Loralai in the place of the incident. But what bothered him is that Loralai must be missing. His parents can't find her, then all of a sudden, he saw her in the incident, wearing their school uniform while keeping herself safe away from danger. It was strange. Callum can't pinpoint any possible reason for Loralai's presence when even the police can't see her around.
Callum wanted to tell his parents. Actually, he almost mentioned it a while ago. But before the moment it slipped his tongue, his mind spoke. He thought that he wasn't really sure if what he saw is true, or just a mere hallucination. He wasn't sure because he saw it in his peripheral vision, which is kind of unclear and blurry. So before telling it to his parents, he wants to confirm it first. Callum wants to know if Loralai is really in the school at that time. Because if she was, then his parents were wasting their time finding for her when she was just actually around.
After Dayanara attended Callum's wounds, the latter went to his room and rest himself. He was exhausted. He wasn't expecting any of what happened today. Callum was kind of relaxed because he thought that there might not be any threat around since the murdering villain already surrendered himself to the authorities. And to think that they didn't feel anything before the attack except a deafening silence, those attackers are dangerous. They couldn't even feel any presence. It was literally an attack that no one expected.
They were peacefully training their powers when a sudden burst of energy exploded in the middle of the field resulting in multiple injuries of students near the epicenter of the explosion. While him, being at the outermost corner of the field, still acquired wounds because of the flying little rocks that seem to be burning. After that, a classroom near them started to catch fire as the villains showed up from inside. People from at least a number of 5 showed up with nothing but themselves and their powers.
Everyone felt goosebumps as they saw smirks and deadly glares from those people. It was nerve-wracking, especially when those people started using their powers. They have pretty simple, but destructive powers. One with the power to create explosives from his body, one to manipulate the deadly element of fire, another can create explosive gas and two people who have the power to decay materials around them. It was almost a disaster seeing their school slowly eaten by powers they didn't imagine could be this destructive.
Thankfully, no one died. But still, many are injured, some are severe. It was a day to remember for everyone. Especially that the school year is near the end. Many of those students might no stay there after graduation, but the trauma will remain in that place, and the fright they felt that day will forever be in the minds of the students present when the incident happened. Though Callum will soon switch to an academy that happens to have tighter security than any other schools in their place, he still can't be relaxed thinking that those villains who attacked are only 5. What if they have more members that are far stronger and powerful? What If what they saw is just the surface of what those villains can do? What if the worst is yet to come, maybe not now, but sooner?
Well, the future relies on what happening in the present. The government needs to take immediate actions to avoid the same thing to happen in the near future. Those villains might not kill anybody today, but they can't predict what those people are thinking. What if in the next attack, they will start targeting civilians and kill them for a reason unknown to them?
Thought Callum was a dry, snob guy, he still thinks of everything. Like how a villain and the heroes work. Or maybe, how the civilians and the villain relationship work. The villain might kill people for some acceptable reasons, but still, what they are doing is considered wrong. Same as the civilians who have the power to stand up for themself. They might have a reason to hurt the villains who are hurting others, but still, if you are to look at a perspective where the two camps are equal, the civilian hurting the villain will also be considered wrong. It was doing the same thing to the person. As a result, they might look like a villain with good causes.
Nevertheless, they still need to do what they think will suit them. If they need to kill those villains just to have a normal and peaceful life, then they will do it without any hesitation. If those villains have reasons to cause havoc, then they also reason to stop the cause of havoc. Willingness sometimes makes a good cause. And the general public is willing to risk their lives just to give others the normal and peaceful life they deserve.
