Later that night, the incident was reported on the national news. It made the public majority, more one the side of those who witnessed the incident first hand. The trauma that everyone in that place might not disappear immediately, especially after another report of a school attack was reported on another school, just near the city. Meaning, those villains are also probably the culprit behind them.
Callum, Dayanara, and Acheros, who are eating while watching couldn't help but stop and stare at the news report where the victims are shown. Far from what they witnessed earlier, a more brutal pitiful scene is what they are seeing now. From uncountable wounds, broken parts of their bodies, burns, the victims were brutally killed, ways that anyone could imagine.
It was a painful sight to see, neither of them thought that they would see and experience such a thing in their life. Thought thinking of it, the victims surely didn't do anything unacceptable to those villains to deserve such deaths that they experienced. None of them can think of things that they did in the past to anger these people who, somewhat look like taking their revenge. But the way they take their revenge can't still be considered. They're killing innocent people! And that's against the law of God. But surely, by now, those villains don't believe in any God at all.
Days passed by, and the villains also pass by every city they like then cause commotions and kill civilians if given the chance. Their ideology as a group of taking revenge as villains don't consider sparing the lives of the innocent and only go back to those who have sinned to them. It was like an unstoppable train that kills everyone in its path. It doesn't matter if you are innocent, young, old, married, or have kids, the fact that you are standing in their way, or you happen to be in their interest is enough reason to be killed.
Everyone was scared to the point that the government has deployed almost all their military forces and police to catch the group of villains who causes chaos to the country. Not only they kill people, but they also kill the country and all its remaining inhabitants. Whatever the reason may be, is it that big to kill everyone? Or at least kill a person? Are those villains that mad to do things like killing? They don't have any clue about what the villains are thinking. But they are sure that the next possible attack is happening anytime soon.
"What are your plans?" Acheros asked Dayanara, one day while they are sitting on the sofa in their living room.
"What plans?" Dayanara asked in confusion. "You don't expect me to do something alone, do you?" Acheros shrugged. "That's just ridiculous. I won't go out fighting those villains myself for the safety of everyone. I'll die before I even make a move."
"You won't know unless you try."
Dayanara looked at Acheros in disbelief. "So you want me to try? Ha! In your face! You should try it yourself first before I'll do it."
"I'll die," Acheros shrugged.
Dayanara scoffed, obviously annoyed at what Acheros has been implying. She knew that Acheros was just saying that to lighten the mood, but it didn't help even a bit. Dayanara was annoyed. And is feeling more annoyed now as she sees Acheros' teasing smile. Dayanara rolled her eyes and annoyingly moved her sight away from Acheros so she could think clearer and better. She was thinking of flying overseas to avoid the current situation of their country. It was worst than any epidemic outbreak or a natural disaster. This death spree that they are experiencing is unavoidable. Death is inescapable at the moment. And that worries her. As much as she wants to let Callum enter that certain academy with a high level of security and skilled guards, they can't risk their life going out, especially they can't say where the villains plan to attack next. They are attacking from behind, from where you'd least expect it.
When the night came, Dayanara made up her mind. She can't risk her son staying in his school or in here knowing that he is at risk. The odds of his son being involved in another attack isn't high, but still possible. The fact that his son is alive might be a possible threat to those villains, especially knowing that Callum identified what those five can do. That can be their advantage. They can make a group that can counter what those people can do. But the disadvantage would be not knowing what their real numbers are. Those five could possibly attack by themselves, but what if their number will increase the next time they attack?
Dayanara and Acheros decided to transfer Callum to an academy where he will be safe, and at the same time, train to enhance his power and release his true potential. It wasn't the best choice, but it is the fastest option they could choose. It was a sudden decision. The school year is ending anytime soon. But after that incident, Dayanara thinks that the school might give consideration to students and parents who want to pull out of the school and transfer their kids to a more reliable and safer one.
After packing all the things of Callum, Dayanara and Acheros went back to their room to sleep. As the two sits on their bed, they heard a soft sound outside. It was soft but still suspicious. Acheros and Dayanara shared a knowing look before bringing their self up and prepared for any possible attack that they may encounter. Dayanara who has a higher potential in physical battles immediately went to their back door to ambush whoever that is. While Acheros grabbed two knives before following through.
As quiet as the night, the two walk like something might trigger if they made any sound. While their bent over, their sense are as sharp as blades as they tried their best to sense whoever or whatever is inside their house. The two may not show it, but they are nervous and scared. They saw the damage the villains caused face to face and the other damages for the following attacks. Those are massive destruction for a 5-member villain group. Meaning, they are really capable of creating chaos even when they are deprived of numbers.
As they reached the end of the wall, Dayanara peeked to see what really is on the other side. She halted after seeing who it is. She looked at Acheros who is waiting for her to say something. But she was speechless. Not only because she didn't expect it, but also because she can't believe what she is seeing. It was Loralai standing on their front door.
"I-It was Loralai," She whispered. Acheros felt his body froze as he digests what he just heard. He can't believe what his wife just said, really.
"Really?" He wasn't that convinced. Dayanara nodded. But still, Acheros can't make up his mind. To see is to believe. He stood straight and walked towards the front door. There she saw Loralai who wears the same clothes she wore on the day she left.
Her clothes are dirty and are torn in some parts. Her skin is pale and she has burns on her skin on her different body parts. She has a slit in her throat, enough deepness to still make it alive. She was like a walking mess by how she looks right now. And Acheros and Dayanara were speechless. They can't form any words as they stare at the pitiful state of Dayanara. Instead, they immediately aided her inside to treat her wounds and take some rest, as she looks like she is sleep deprived of the weeks she is missing.
