"The suspect for the consecutive murders surrendered himself to the police yesterday," That was what the reporter said while Loralai and her family is watching the news. They felt relieved, it can be more than that. To think that the person behind their nervousness will surrender himself must be the happiest day for everyone in the country. They've been living in fear for quite a long time now, and it ended surprisingly. They thought that they still need to exert efforts just to find the villain, but not anymore.
"Thank God for that news," Dayanara said, blowing a loud breath of relief as she glances at everyone at the dining table. It was a Saturday, and they have nothing to do except pass the time and do what they desire to do. As for Loralai, she decided to go out and feed her eyes with new sceneries other than her room and their house.
After breakfast, she immediately took a bath and informed Acheros that she will be going out alone. She didn't even use any of their cars. She just went out of the gate, and suddenly vanished out of thin air. Acheros didn't have a chance to give Loralai money because the woman was nowhere to be seen after just going out of their gate.
Acheros sighed, 'that girl is really mysterious.' With that, he went back inside and proceeded with his day. As the night came, Loralai hasn't still gone home. It's already 8 in the evening, and Dayanara and Acheros have been worried since the afternoon. Loralai literally has no money, so they thought that she will be back before noon to eat lunch. But it didn't happen. And they've been worried since she sure hasn't taken her lunch, plus the fact that even if the man behind the murder crimes has surrendered himself, the thought that evil is still lurking outside worries them. Just because that man surrendered, doesn't mean that people with black hearts will stop doing things that won't do any good to others.
"Do you have any idea where that woman went?" Dayanara asked Acheros since Loralai asked permission to go out to Acheros. "If anything happens to her, you will be held responsible, Acheros."
Acheros sat on the sofa and covered her face with his hands. He had been thinking about where Loralai could possibly go. She has no friends, that's what they know. And they have no clue what places Loralai wants to visit. Basically, they were clueless about Loralai. They've been together for a long time now, and their knowledge about Loralai can be counted by hands. They didn't pay any attention to Loralai's interests, like her favorite food, color, or music taste. Their family has known nothing about Loralai since Loralai also doesn't tell something about herself.
"I can't think of any places," Acheros disappointedly said, angry at himself for not asking Loralai about her whereabouts. "She said she'll be home by noon," he said, looking at Dayanara. "She even said that she will text me when she needs someone to fetch her."
"Check your phone."
Acheros' moves were swift. In a second, from their room on the second floor, he already is back in his seat with the phone in his hand. He immediately checked the inbox, but he saw nothing than his usual contacts. Loralai has her phone, that's for sure. But the question is, did she bring it despite the fact that she said she will send a text. Without saying any word, Acheros ran his way to Loralai's room and found it lock. Since the incident when Loralai fainted, Acheros immediately searched for the key so that they ca use it in case something happened again. And this time, the key is useful to open the locked door.
As soon as he opened the door, he immediately opened the lights and search for the phone on the table on the bedside. The space was clean, so he easily figured out that no phone was there. He next searched in the cabinet, and found her phone there.
"That kid," he whispered, losing temper at the thought that Loralai lied to him about texting when she needs to be fetched. 'How the hell is she going to text me when she doesn't have her phone with her?' Acheros went out as he shook his head in disappointment. Now they literally have no means of contacting or finding where Loralai is. All they can do is wait for her to go home, which they hope will happen soon. "Her phone is here, she didn't bring it with her," he informed Dayanara. Dayanara then scratched her forehead, eagerly thinking what's the best to do for the situation.
"We'll wait a little more," Dayanara announced. "If she isn't home until ten, I'll asked my friend, a policeman, to search for her anywhere they can."
"That's good," Acheros sighed, feeling a sense of relief at the thought that Dayanara's friend might find Loralai on the streets. "But I'm still worried."
"You should be. If something bad happens to that kid, I'm going to blame you and will never forgive you for the rest of my life."
Acheros blinked numerous times, surprised at what Dayanara said. 'She will never forgive me if something happens to Loralai? Wow.' As funny as it is, Acheros thinks that his wife, Dayanara, has developed a connection to Loralai to be worried like this. It's like she is worrying as if she is Loralai's real mother, when the truth is she isn't. It stunned him for a second especially thinking that Dayanara has been mean to Loralai every night – using her ability to increase her physical strength then beat Loralai was no joke. He tasted his wife's power himself, and all he can say is that 'I can't mess with her, ever.'
Minutes have passed. Acheros is still waiting, glancing at their gate from time to time to see if it will open anytime soon. But still, no Loralai came home. Their worries have been increasing as seconds pass by. And Dayanara can't wait any longer. She called her friend and told him all the possible things that can help them identify if that girl is what they are looking for.
"He'll look for her now," she said as she ends the call. "Hopefully, they will find Loralai on the streets, or wherever it might be. Just… I hope they can find her."
"I hope so, too."
