Chapter 3 - Junior Year

Well, here we are, My Junior year. It's like I just started school a few days ago. Over the summer I helped out James with his work and I told him that if he needs help just ask me or ask someone for help. This year is all about what I believe in. I realized I haven't talked about myself lately and that's because I haven't been focusing on myself. But let me start again by saying That my name is Joseph Brown. I'm 16 and go to Schenectady High School and am a Junior. I managed to start up a new kind of program in schools all around the state called the No Kid Left Behind. The program is about helping out kids in need and bringing them on track in life. Duane had to move over the summer but I'm able to keep in contact with him and still give him the help he needs. I got my first job at a nursing home helping the elderly with what they need. I enjoy helping people so much that I think this job will be good for me. Have you ever felt that you wanted to be invisible? Well I have, I wanted to be so invisible that nobody would notice me. Until 1 girl came to school and talked to me, don't be scared to make friends. After all, friends are all you have after family.

Ever since my first day of high school I've been doing good in school and making friends. I have a bunch of friends now and everyone here knows who I am. Now you might think that's a good thing but it's not. I like being helpful but I don't like all the attention I've been getting. Never give up on your hopes and dreams because that's what everyone tries to achieve and without those, you can't achieve your goals. One thing that everyone has is Imagination. Don't be scared to use it. Always welcome people to sit with you and hang out with you. I came to this school knowing nobody and once I met someone my life got a lot better. Life is better with friends and family. I went from having nothing to being one of the popular kids in school. Know your worth and who needs you in their lives.

Life may have its ups and downs but you should never stop trying to do what you love. Nothing is just going to be handed over to you so you have to work for what you want. So today I went for a walk and ran into Phoebe going for a run. I asked her if we could talk for a few minutes and she said yes. I asked her why she decided to ask me for help when there were a bunch of kids walking by her. She said that she knew that if she asked anyone else they would give her an attitude and when she saw me walking by myself she knew that I would help her. I thanked her for doing that because if it wasn't for her I wouldn't be how I am right now. About an hour later after I saw Phoebe I ran into John. Once I got done talking to Phoebe I saw John walking with another person. I didn't want to interrupt their conversation so I just walked away and didn't interact with them. This year was interesting but just wait until next year.
