Well here I am, a freshman in college. I've never been so scared. I mean I'm ready for it but I feel like it will be too difficult or so I thought. As soon as I got to the college campus I realized that college is nothing like high school because if I'm late often I might get kicked out. I have to try my hardest to keep my grades up so that I can succeed. I'll be the only person in my family to have a college degree. I want to finally make my family proud of me. My mother hasn't been that proud of me lately because she's been expected more from me. After all, I'm going to college. She wants me to be like my father, he grew up and became the greatest person that has happened to our family. If it wasn't for him we wouldn't have been able to move to the United States.
He spent all of his money to get us here safely. I lost contact with him a while ago so I don't know what he is doing or even if he is alive. I don't have any classes with Kelly so unfortunately, I can barely see her except for when college is done for the day. My first class for the semester is math. From what I can tell the teacher likes me, for the first day all we did for the class was go over everything like grading and expectations. I don't think I will have a hard time Math. I just hope I can become friends with people so that I'm not going through this alone. While I was heading to the cafeteria a group of kids about my age called me over. They asked me if I would like to hang out with them. I was a little suspicious of them but I decided to hang out with them. They introduced themselves, there was Cyle who from what I was able to tell is a science freak. Then there was Michael who seems to just be the athletic one.
Then there was Alex who was one of the 2 females in the group. They told me that the other girl wouldn't be here at the moment because she had some errands to run. I asked them what her name was and by my surprise the other female was Kelly. I don't exactly know if it's the Kelly I think it is but I can't wait to find out. I told them I had to head off to my second class and they asked me what class. I told them I have English and they mentioned that they all have English also. I didn't know my way around campus but luckily Alex did. We all started heading to English when I heard a familiar voice. I turned around to see who it was and it was Kelly. I stopped in my tracks and it took me a second to realize that Kelly was in the same friend group and class as me. Once she saw me she ran and hugged me.
I can't believe that I managed to find Kelly again. Seeing her reminded me that I had to set up and arrange a wedding. The next day I asked Kelly if we could meet up to plan out our wedding. She said she would be right over. Kelly looked a little different from yesterday. She had some bruises that she was trying to hide. Once I noticed them I asked her about them. She said that on her way home she got hit off of her bike and by the time she looked up nobody was up. I was in complete shock when she told me that. I asked her if she would like me to call 911. She insisted that I don't call 911 because she doesn't remember anything about the thing that hit her. I didn't believe her but I couldn't tell her that. From that information that she told me I went over to that area and I realized that on the sidewalk there wasn't anything that showed that she had been hit. I then realized that there is a camera on the street. Once I realized who the camera belongs to I went to the police department and I told them that someone said they had been hit on that street and she didn't remember the details of the thing that hit her. I asked if I could view the footage with them to see what happened. They allowed me to review the footage and I was extremely shocked by what I saw. She got hit but it wasn't a vehicle or a person. She was attacked by a dog. From what I saw she got bit on her arms and legs. Once I saw that I thanked the officers and I went home. It made me think a little about why that has happened.
I asked Kelly if she could come over real quick so we can talk. She said she will be there in an hour. When Kelly arrived I asked her to take off her jacket. She was a little hesitant about doing so but she did. Just as expected she had 2 bruises on her arm. I had to ask if she was 100 percent honest with me. She looked at me and started crying. She explained everything to me and I felt so bad. The reason that the dog has attacked her was that she accidentally forgot to pay for food. She explained everything that has happened in the last 72 hours. She mentioned that she had lost her job and didn't have money for food. I felt so bad and I insisted that she moved in with me. I mean we are engaged. I also mentioned planning a wedding and she grew a smirk. She said that she wanted to get married in New York. Freshman year of college is almost over and might I say that it's been quite a year.
