Chapter 4 - Sean's Secret (III)

"Friya... Friya, please... let me explain," Sean whispered while the sobs were initiating through and he didn't know how he can persuade her anymore. Friya stood up from the steps as she reached the front door. Sean grabbed hold of her arms and she turned around to him one last time. She pointed her finger at him right in front of his nose while gritting her teeth. She was in wrath, her whole body was shaking.

"We should never see each other again, I'm so sick of you!" Friya hissed back at him that made Sean taken aback. She opened the door loudly and slammed it right in front of his face. Sean closed his eyes as the tears fell down from his eyes while his body weakened. He felt his knees fell down on the floor as he sat up and cried at the back of the door. Friya closed her eyes and shook her head as she knuckled her fists while she ran over to the lawn.

She climbed inside her car as she put the car key on its socket and started it immediately. She wiped the tears as she gripped the steering wheel and zoomed out from their lawn. Her vision became blurry as she halted her car on the corner of the exit while she leaned on her seat. She shouted the pain and ache that she felt right through her heart as she couldn't believe what just happened. Everything, the promises they made, the early preparations of their marriage, the love she had gave him for 10 years they had been together, and even the times they supported each other's back.

"I couldn't believe in just a blink of an eye, everything that happened between us disperses through the air like it was a distant memory."

She sobbed right through as she thumped her hands through her chest while she drooped her head down on the steering wheel. She gritted her teeth as she howled early in the morning while she was sitting down at her car. Sean also did the same thing and he didn't know how he can move an inch from the floor. He felt that everything change in just a second. He brushed his hand through his eyes as he curled into a fetal position while he sobbed.

"If the promise I made were meant to be broken, I should never have made a promise of forever."

Friya's cell phone rang in her pockets and it vibrated through her thigh. She opened her eyes when she sniffed loudly and retrieved it from her seat. She glanced at the Caller ID as she saw that it was from the producer of her own radio show at the TSV Studios. She ignored the call as she threw it upon the dashboard of her car. She sulked her shoulders down as she continued to cry.

*** THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT ***

Friya covered her mouth as she realized all the lines that she gave through Sean earlier in the morning. She regretted everything. She wanted to turn back the time as she saw how Sean was laying down on that cold floor with a lot of blood in his head. The taxi driver stopped at the front of San Miguel's Hospital and she quickly retrieved cash. She climbed down the car as she saw the ambulance stop at the front of the emergency room. She ran up towards there as the nurses helped everyone to guide the stretcher out from the car. She stopped at Sean's side and she quickly knuckled her fists as the nurses rolled down the bed towards the entrance of the emergency room.

He saw a lot of dried blood on his forehead as she cried and ran along with the nurses shouting at each other. They stepped inside the emergency room as Friya halted in the door frame. She covered her mouth as the noises kept on coming through and she didn't know what to feel anymore. She saw them rolling his bed through the corner of the room. The secrets that had been unraveled through Sean were the last time she would ever see him again with that kind of tears from his eyes. She sat down on the bench through the side of the emergency room as she propped both of her elbows on her knees.

"Why did this have to happen?" Friya asked herself as she sobbed uncontrollably on the bench. Her cell phone vibrated as she felt through the side of her jacket. She sniffed loudly as she retrieved it and saw that it was from Louie, his colleague. Another director of a radio show in the afternoon.

She swiped the green button as she wiped the tears from her eyes and cleared her throat. She tried to compose herself so that Louie wouldn't notice as she put her cellphone by her ear. She said, "Hmm? What? Do you have something to say?"

Friya tried to say it with her normal voice and she was worried that Louie might know that she was troubled by the accident of Sean. She wiped her nose with the sleeves of her coat as she leaned her head back on the seat while Louie's voice came right away through the other end of the line. Louie stopped from opening his car door as he furrowed his eyebrows.

"Your tone seems a little different. Did something happen between you and Sean?" Louie asked as he opened the car door and climbed in. He closed it gently as Friya bit her lip and controlled the sobs from coming.

Louie sighed as he gripped the steering wheel and said, "I know that you're not okay, Friya. Just tell me what happened."

Friya removed the cell phone from her ear and covered the mouthpiece. The heavy tears poured down as she looked down and cried. Louie raised his eyebrows and when he heard a faint crying noise in the background, he knew that Friya was now crying.
