Chapter 33 - Really Weak

When Polemos was finally able to hear Captain say that 'magic' word: please, he smiled a very bright smile but, on the inside he was losing himself in laughter.

'I can't believe he actually said it, he actually said it, that was hilarious, childish, but hilarious oh was it worth it if I do say so myself.'

When Captain saw the bright smile on the Mad Ones face and he was finally able to resolve this a little peacefully with the only thing to be injured was Alyans spine as well as his pride.

Polemos removed his knee from Alyans spine and gripped the back of his neck while still holding onto the hand that was wielding the dagger as he brought Alyan up to his knees. With one hand on his neck as well as his arm that held the dagger was behind his back as he looked over at Captain as well as Carl who just joined the party.

"Well you did say please Captain so I'll definitely let him go but, just a quick question. Why did you come back?" Polemos was a little confused as to why Captain returned but was able to get his answer pretty quickly.

"Honestly I can't tell you as you're not part of the tribe's inner workings as well as you no longer being seen as a member of the tribe either. Plus when I was done meeting with the Tribe Leader he ingeniously asked me to spy on you." Captain spoke with melancholy in his voice as he thought that Mesakyle wasn't thinking the best. Plus he was very dissatisfied with how Alyan was currently acting.

When Polemos heard Captains response he wasn't really all that surprised when he learned was no longer a part of the tribe in fact he was happy as everything he did moving forward wouldn't really matter all too much. Polemos even started to forget that Alyan was still currently in his grasp until he yelled.

"Release me you damned outsider! Or I swear I'll kill you where you stand and why haven't you done anything to this trash outsider Captain, didn't the Tribe Leader ask you to kill this Devil why are you even speaking to him." Then as Alyan thought he was able to get the upper hand or think he was, Polemos cut him short.

"Shut up."

With those two simple words as well as a knee strike to the back of his head, Alyan was knocked unconscious as he dropped to the floor like a puppet losing its strings.

"Like you had any position to speak from." As he looked over towards Captain, and asked a question. "Why is he this weak? It's like he doesn't even properly train himself at all, hell even the other three were incredibly weak?"

When Polemos asked this question Captain had a sullen look on his face as he shook his head then looked over towards Carl. When Carl noticed Captain look towards him he knew it was something he couldn't respond to but, Carl didn't care and gladly answered in his place.

"I can answer that for ya Polemos it's simple really they don't train themselves the way you've obviously trained yourself as it looks like your training to be like a battlemage. Most Nomadic Tribes just simply meditate to increase their strength making them very fragile as they forget about the body. Hell most don't even carry a dagger as they only think Mana is sufficient and forget the thing that's always with them." Carl thumped his chest hard. "I don't really understand the reason or logic why most Nomadic Tribes do that but, if you do run into one that doesn't then be careful, they are bound to be strong."

When Polemos heard that he was a little flabbergasted as Carl described a mage build normally referred to as a glass cannon: strong firepower but incredibly fragile. They're powerful from a distance but if you're able to get close then there's a good chance they'll die.

Polemos just shook his head as he was a little disappointed as he wanted to have a challenge not a glass cannon. Then he released a sigh as he looked over towards Captain and pointed at the unconscious Alyan.

"He's released and knowing that now will make killing the remaining four easier but at the same time such a drag. Like awesome my mind is strong but my body is weak, another disappointment but such is life I guess." Polemos shrugged.

"Ashern, go and grab the Second Hunting Captain and put him in his damn tent and when he wakes up have him come see me."

Ashern didn't really hear what the First Hunting Captain said as he looked absent minded with his mouth wide open. The events that currently happened in front of him were beyond anything he thought would ever happen. He thought they were going to go and intimidate Polemos and scare him off like they normally did but, what he saw today made him think he was dreaming. It wasn't until he heard the First Hunting Captains voice again that he awoke from his stupor and when his shaking intensified he realized it wasn't a dream.

"Wh-what did, you, you, s-say First Hunting Captain?"

"Go and grab the Second Hunting Captain and put him in his damn tent and when he wakes, have him come and see me. Immediately! Now." Captain spoke with a dark expression on his scared face, making him look furious. Ashern didn't hesitate as he scrambled over to Alyan and carried Alyan in a princess carry.

Polemos couldn't help but chuckle and mocked. "I always knew something was between you two congratulations. I always cheered for you guys." While clapping his hands.

Everyone had a different reaction minus Rose as she was just enjoying the warm sand beneath her. Carl gave a hearty laugh as his voice boomed through the tribe. Captain had a very bewildered expression as he had no idea what Polemos meant as he never left the tribe unless for hunting missions. Ashern almost tripped and fell making him lose his grip on Alyan and drop him as well.

When Ashern was no longer visible Carl spoke up.

"Well that was very entertaining and amusing plus I got everything you asked for Polemos." Then tossed a small bag containing three rings. "Everything is inside the rings plus got a nice wine for ya story, just head in when you're done out here." Carl turned around and headed back inside his tent.

Polemos only shook his head and grinned when Carl went back inside his tent, then looked over towards Captain with an expressionless face.

"So what's the real reason you're here as you very blatantly told me Mesakyle wanted me to be spied on?"

Captain pointed over to Carl's tent.

"Really?"

"Really. Just wasn't expecting to run into this when I arrived. The Tribe Leader did assign the Second Hunting Captain to a task but I don't know what it was as I wasn't present. And if anything Carl said he had some good wine to share if you don't mind me here." Captain was indeed surprised when he got a message from Carl.

Polemos looked over at Rose and asked what she thought.

"What do you think, Rose?"

"…"

Rose didn't answer as she was asleep.

"Well looks like it's fine then just don't go spreading it everywhere, don't need everyone to know." Polemos nodded his head as he gave Rose's head one last rub and went into Carl's tent.

Captain shook his head and smiled as he followed Polemos and entered the tent to join in on the stories.

.........….

Polemos wasn't able to leave Carl's tent til the second moon was starting to crown.

"Wow, would you look at that there's a second moon, wait I knew that, it was one of the first things I saw. Rose I'm all done let's head over to my spot or just by the lake and camp there. Gods that was some good wine need to ask what it was again or the recipe maybe." Polemos was in a very good mood after leaving Carl's tent, both Carl and Captain laughed very hard when he told his stories and even told some from his first life.

Then he noticed that Rose didn't answer him as she wasn't where she was until he heard a slight rumble in the distance as he saw her heading in his direction with haste. When Polemos saw Rose heading in his direction he rushed out to meet her but stumbled and almost fell multiple times as he remembered Carl mentioned that the wine was pretty strong.

'Well I guess he wasn't kidding when he said that damn. Now I really need to get the recipe or buy the whole lot.' When Polemos had that thought he finally tripped over his own feet and fell into the sand. He didn't even move as he just waited for Rose.

When Rose finally made it to Polemos and saw that he was lying face down in the sand she just poked him with his antenna to see if he was alive. When he groaned she hissed as she lifted him from the sands and put him on her head.

"Hey, Rose I had a good time did you? I'm quite tired, there's a water source nearby. Let's just camp there for tonight. It'll be nice." Polemos tried hugging Rose's head as she just hissed and headed over to the water source with a very tired Polemos.
