Chapter 29 - Journal

When Polemos was finally at the outer edge of the tribe he stood atop of Rose's head as he announced his arrival to the tribe in a loud boisterous voice.

"Hello everybody!! It's me, your favorite purple eyed Cursed Devil, Polemos. Ah I'm sorry, where are my manners?" Then Polemos pointed down with a large grin on his face as he gestured to Rose. "This lovely centipede is my partner, Rose."

Polemos's only answer was the continuous screams and yelling of the tribe. But Polemos ignored them and continued to speak.

"I hope you all missed me because I know I missed all of you. Who am I kidding? I've never missed any of you except; Elder Spear and Carl, everyone else not so much. But enough about that." Polemos then took a deep breath.

"I'VE! RETURNED!! HAHAHAHA….!!!"

Polemos's voice was heard throughout the entire tribe, bringing different reactions to multiple members of the tribe.

In a large and luxurious tent Alyan, Ashern, and Alayah were all having a meeting when Polemos's voice reached them. All three of them had different reactions when they heard his very loud voice.

Alayah flinched as she got the news yesterday when Alyan came back. When she heard the updated information from the First Hunting Captains mouth she grimaced, all her original plans she had needed to be changed or updated heavily. She wasn't able to get much sleep since she got the news and was a little on edge as she still wasn't done.

Ashern was already shaking before he heard Polemos's voice as he was shaking the moment he heard members of the tribe yell 'monster.' Then he started to shake even further when he heard Polemos's voice but, he himself couldn't really understand at all why he was currently shaking so much as, his memory of the event was bleak. Ashern only remembered meeting Polemos, hearing a demonic hiss, feeling the First Hunting Captains stare, and then retreating.

When Alyan heard the tribe members scream and yell in fear he furrowed his brow in anger then when he heard that, cursed devils laugh his face warped in fury. Alyan rushed out of his tent but the moment he left he was stopped by a 2 meter tall man with a demon-like face because of the scars that marred his face.

"Good it looks like I caught you at the perfect time." Captain's thunder-like voice echoed in Alyans ears as he tried to put away his ugly expression as annoyance filled his eyes and voice.

"Yes it looks like you did, First Hunting Captain, I was just about to go out and see who was making such a noise."

The First Hunting Captain didn't care for the Second Hunting Captains "High IQ" excuse as he gave out an order. "No need necessary, I'm here to inform you that you are to remain in your tent, as well as your two guests. The Tribe Leader and I are going to deal with the issue."

The First Hunting Captain didn't wait for a response as he turned around and headed towards the direction of where Polemos was.

Alyan looked like he swallowed a very fine aged glass of a purple veined maggot!! As he could only grip his fists in anger as his nails dug into his palms as his blood flowed from his palms and in between his fingers, falling into the sand.

Polemos was a little confused as no one was heading in his direction; they only ran away then it clicked. "They probably were expecting that damn, oh well like I said no harm no foul I guess. Well that's scrapped then, at least I'm close to Carl's tent let's just head there then." Then Polemos slid off Rose's head and landed on the sands. "Follow me Rose, I'll introduce Carl to you. He might know more about what type of centipede you are if not then I need to find that out, Gods, my journal never stops getting updated."

Polemos headed over towards Carl's tent, as he swaggered over to the tent, Rose was quite curious as she looked around at all the tents. Rose continued to follow after Polemos as she still looked around the tribe but quickly lost interest as there really wasn't much going on as everyone was either running or already hiding in their own tents.

It didn't take long to reach Carl's tent as he was even outside of his tent. Almost like he was already waiting for Polemos to show. When Carl saw Polemos being followed by Rose he was surprised but it quickly went away as he just shrugged his shoulders and welcomed Polemos back with a deep voice.

"Well welcome back Mad One, I can't believe you actually did it, I'm amazed you ain't dead. And that was one hell of an entrance, I also got some good news as well as bad but, I have a feeling you know the bad news though, but Elder Spear did leave something with me to give you."

When Polemos heard Carl call him 'Mad One' he stumbled and almost fell.

"What did you call me?"

"Mad One."

"When did I get that title?" Polemos spoke with a weird expression then waved his hands. "Never mind that of course I'm not dead, I'm alive and kicking, I think the entrance could have been better but oh well, and yes unfortunately I learned what happened to Elder Spear but had no idea he left me anything. And let me introduce you to my partner, Rose….Rose?"

Polemos turned to look at Rose and was shocked that she was low to the ground like she was on edge. Then turned to look back at Carl in confusion?

"She's a sharp one, Rose can sense my Mana stage." Carl smiled behind his big beard and laughed.

Polemos just looked at Carl in shock as his mind was turning.

'Just how strong must Carl be in order for her to act like that, he must be at the next Mana stage, and he's only a retired soldier turned merchant what the hell Carl.'

When Carl was done with his laugh he gestured for Polemos to enter his tent.

"Don't worry I'm not gonna do anything, you're my best customer and by the look of it I'll be a host to not only my best customer but also the Tribe Leader and the First Hunting Captain. So let's head inside to talk but, Rose will have to stay outside the tent since she won't fit sorry."

Polemos wasn't surprised when Carl mentioned that the Tribe Leader and the First Hunting Captain would be arriving as he knew when he made his entrance he was prepared to meet them. Polemos looked over to Rose as he was a little reluctant to leave Rose outside but his thought process was stopped when Carl noticed Polemos looking back at Rose.

"Don't worry I won't let anyone harm Rose." Carl spoke with assurance as he was even looking behind Rose as two individuals were already heading in their direction. "Let's head inside."

Polemos nodded his head as he reached and rubbed Rose's head.

"I'll be inside and don't worry Carl will definitely make sure that nothing happens to you, just lay in the sand and enjoy the sun. And don't worry I'll make sure to get stronger as quickly as I can."

Rose gently hissed as she lowered herself to lay in the sand as Polemos continued to rub her head. When Rose was all comfortable Polemos stopped and headed inside Carl's tent as he waited for the two guests to arrive.

The Tribe Leader was an elderly man who looked to be 70-80 years old, with a wrinkled face, a long white wizard-like beard, balding, and was walking with a cane. He looked like he couldn't even harm a fly as he looked like your everyday loving grandpa.

The First Hunting Captain was walking slowly beside the elderly Tribe Leader with respect as even though the Tribe Leader was currently old he was able to witness the Tribe Leaders brutality towards his enemies.

"Looks like he has already entered Carl's tent then and that must be, Rose right his partner you said." The Tribe Leader spoke in an experienced and elderly voice towards the First Hunting Captain.

"Yes Leader."

The Tribe Leader spoke with a warm elderly smile. "She's grown up, I remember when she was still a little smaller. I'm quite upset that she's technically not under my control, oh well. Let's go and speak to this Mad One then."

The First Hunting Captain shuddered when the Tribe Leader said he was upset but released a sigh when he let go of his anger.

As they got closer to the tent the Tribe Leader even stopped and looked over towards Rose but, all she did was ignore the Tribe Leaders stare as she relaxed in the warm sand. Then Carl's voice called out from his tent.

"Enough Mesakyle, if you continue to look any longer and I'll make sure you lose one if not both your eyes. Now let's get this over with as it looks like you're here for the individual in my tent. I've got a busy day so let's get this over with especially since it's interrupted me making money." Carl's deep voice held no question.

When Mesakyle heard Carl use his name he furrowed his white bushy brows then shrugged as he headed inside the tent as Captain sheepishly smiled as he followed behind the Tribe Leader.
