Riot looked at his armor set and sword that were in very poor condition. He tried doing what he watched in movies, at first he touched the armor and said "appraise" but nothing happened. He then held it and had the intention of knowing about what he was holding. That was when the messages he was expecting finally appeared in his vision. It left him smiling.

'So it actually works. Really nice!' He thought.

He decided to have a look at his status again.

Remark: Humph! Although, you've become Cain's heir. You still aren't much stronger than an elite soldier. But with the great potential you currently posses, there's no telling how far you can go.

Riot sat under a tree trying to understand what was actually written there. Maybe it would help with his training he thought.

He then began browsing through his status while Cain lazed around on a rock.

'Riot Silver apparently my new name... Maxilite Lion (human form)... There are probably other forms then, right? Title... That pseudonym must be Cain's moniker at Tiliman. Probably due to his infamy? Final boss sounds powerful... But i don't feel that vibe in me currently. Divinity...Whep! I don't understand this. Mana... That mark at the end of the second mana attribute must indicate my current max right?'

Usually people could sense the quantity of mana they had by meditating and by comparing the amount of skills or spells they could use in a short period of time against others with similar skills or spells before they fall into a mana deprived state.

However, Riot's status gave him more a accurate reading on the quantity of his mana.

'Hmm, health and stamina are both expressed in the percentage system. I believed my endurance would've been higher, surely this calls for some workout. Energy level is how my physical overall grading is classified... It's Grade F, i already knew that though.

Now the new organs... Cain had already talked about some of them. Racial talents? Now this is something new...they are probably related to my new organs. Sign! Only one skill learned? I feel weak.'

The previous 'Riot' didn't practice much, he was too busy reading normal books to care about his overall strength. The only reason why he learnt the wind blade was so that if he had to fight he could just release a lethal attack from a distance.

'...Allan swordmanship. An elite defensive focused sword style. It helped me quite a bit with my fight against the assassin. Voltage technique is a staple technique for combatants, anyone who hadn't learn it but still does adventuring or military type jobs would be at a severe disadvantage during life and death situations.

Mana absorption and channeling... Energy skill rune imprintation and magical energy channeling. All essential techniques. Wait! This... All-in blade technique! It's here! No. I shouldn't be too surprised, after all. I did use it a little in my previous battle along with the flutter footwork technique.

These two styles were essential powerful techniques for close quarter combat. They were created mainly for mechsuit operators in Riot's previous life. The All-in blade technique emphasized a blitz offensive sword style which worked better with dual blades. But, this left a lot of openings... However, since the mechsuit armor was extremely durable, enemy melee attacks often only left scratches and small marks on it.

While the flutter footwork helped the mechsuit combatant make sudden quick leaps and turns to dodge or minimize lethal shots from energy beams, plasma guns and other weapons that could cause serious damage.

There's still one technique left i know but haven't tried, so i can imply from this that the status only displayed skills and techniques that i have made use of.

Alright then. Authorities... Lightning, Tremor, Gravity and Soul... What a line-up now this makes me feel like a boss. Although, i'm not too sure, but tremor should be related to vibrations and sound, gravity...is just gravity? Don't know much apart from what I've seen Cain do. Lightning... Would i be able to toss lightning about? And finally soul... Don't have a clue about that.'

He suddenly remembered what he was told by the ghost who made a request to him too kill the black dragon. Thinking of this he willed one soul dust out of him. Watching it curiously as it flew around his finger like a tiny blue firefly.

[Name: Soul tinder]

[Type: Soul]

[Rarity: Divine]

[Attributes: Moves according to your will.]

[Effects: (1)??? (2)??? (3)???]

[Remark: It may not be a firefly, but it could be your trusty companion.]

.....

He tried appraising it but still couldn't understand what it did due to the limited information provided about it, but based on it's rarity he guessed it was valuable.

I'd have to ask Cain about it when i get the chance.

He put those thoughts aside and decided to see what was in the assassin's spatial ring. He had been eyeing the ring for a while now, leaving it for last.

Spatial rings were made with special enchantment inks. The core material for production was the stone of a dimensional flower. That was why all spatial rings had a small black crystal stone attached to them. The key technology basically involved the mind and space magic.

In other to obtain what was in a spatial ring you had to know what was in the spatial ring, to directly bring it out with a thought.

Riot not knowing what was in the assassin's ring decided to empty everything out with a thought.

This was the only other way to get the stuff out if you were clueless about what exactly was inside. Then after seeing the stuff within and making a mental image of the items he would then absorb them back in.

Channeling mana into the ring, he willed the ring to empty itself out.

Immediately a heap of items appeared before him, heaping over a meter tall. They consisted of cloaks, boots, swords, daggers, magic items, leather armor and some nefarious looking materials he could only assume where used for rituals.

Seeing this, Riot had a thought. 'Could the assassin have been on a restocking mission before being sidetracked by the chance of looting great wealth from the ruined kingdom?'

He guessed as he picked up a map from the pile.

He observed the map a little and quickly understood it. The map showed the explored part of this world which was called Anvil. It showed three continents; the Truden continent, the Deso continent and the Merak continent. The Truden and Deso continents were actually connected by land, from above it roughly looked like a fat letter "U" lying on it's left side, with the connected part being at the east. While the Merak continent was located far west of Truden with a lot of islands in between.

Riot discovered that the map was quite detailed especially the Truden continent. It showed kingdoms and cities of different races on Anvil. It had some marks and lines showing the territory of dangerous creatures and wild dungeons. Especially that of the great northern forest which he saw scribbles like; spider crypt, the lost labyrinth, the lair of the black dragon e.t.c.

He also noticed some marks that seemed odd.

'This must be where their hideouts are located in the northern forest...or it could just a ruse to trick the lawful faction away from their real hideouts?' He pondered.

Honestly, he didn't think a large cult like Opus Mardi that had survived for many years despite serious opposition, would be stupid enough to leave themselves in the open just from a grade E combatant's spatial ring being stolen.

It was obviously a trap.

As for the supplies, even though they looked crude to him he greatly welcomed them. He was appreciative they came at such a timely hour.

The leather armor made him feel like he was about to cosplay for an ancient themed movie.

Riot couldn't be blamed for feeling that way. Looking at it from the perspective of someone who had used light sabers and A.I assisted mechsuits it wasn't a far fetched thought.

Still it made him excited as he had a feeling he had gone back in time.

.....

Riot appraised the items one by one. From what he could observe, either be it the attack or defense stat they were ranked in ascending other of strength from; Weak, Normal, Strong to Very Strong... As for the rarity stat he believed it was like this; Common, Uncommon, Rare, Unique, Divine...

Whether there were rankings higher than that he would have to get a hold of better quality gear to find out.

He thought a bit before putting on a set of common rank clothing. Black boots, trouser, shirt, leather vest, leather gauntlets and a mask which he could lift to cover his lower face.

His all black attire made him feel more like a ninja than an assassin. Riot placed two daggers on the sheaths on his waist and then a normal sword behind him to complete the 'cosplay'.

Walking to the river to see his reflection, he discovered he didn't look bad and decided to leave it as it was.

He then put everything else back into the ring. Seeing that Cain wasn't ready yet, he took out his original ring. This ring was mostly filled with books and gems.

—Annim Journals

—The chronicles of Anvil by Whistling Wind.

—Lotter's romantic adventures

Riot looked at the three random books he had brought out, deciding on one to pass the time until Cain woke up.

Flipping one open, he read under the tree...
