Isaac walked up the stairs to his office when he was stopped by Ada in the way.
"I heard you agreed," said Ada, with a huge smile on her face.
"Hm…" he gave a nod and started walking again. Ada too persistently followed him.
"So, what made you change your mind?" She asked in a teasing tone.
"Miss. Charlotte, I am a very busy man. I don't have time to talk about something like that," he stopped and spoke, "let's limit our meeting and concentrate on what's important,"
"But—"
"Jeremy, take her back to her home, I am busy." He spoke to Jermy and walked away.
'Why is he so rude? Can't you just play along?' She stomped her feet and walked away on her own.
Issac seemed quite delighted when she walked away,
"Jermy! I want you to find something for me," Isaac turned towards Jermy.
"Yes, what is it?" He asked.
"I want to know everything about the newly appointed CEO," he purposely avoided the name.
"You are talking about Miss. Peace?" Jermy asked.
"And find out her relationship with her," he was referring to Charlotte.
"Okay!" He replied.
Jermy bowed slightly and walked away leaving Isaac alone. Isaac stood staring into the air as Peace's provoking face danced before his eyes, and it made him boil up uncomfortably.
"You will come to me, begging to shower my grace on you,"
Isaac felt like he was getting looked down upon by someone so basic, and she even managed to interfere with his life without much effort.
"Achoo!!" Peace sneezed onto the paper when she was standing by the bookshelves,
"Are you alright?" Mark came running towards her with a tissue.
"Hm— yes I am okay, you can leave now." She said as she waved her hand at MArk.
"Okay, you can call for me when you need anything," Mark said and left her alone in the room.
Peace rubbed her itchy nose and muttered, "I wonder who is planning against me behind my back," Peace muttered to herself and looked back at the graph on the piece of paper.
"This is interesting— Let's fix this," Peace clicked the pen in her hand, and scribbled something over the graph, She walked back to the table and opened her laptop, She started copying the information into her laptop, her fingers skillfully gliding over the keyboard.
When she was done copying the content of the file, She searched the location that was given on the file.
"A construction site?" She pouted and picked up her phone to call Mark
.
"Mark, I need you here." She spoke and ended the call to continue looking at the screen with interest.
"You called," He spoke.
"Yes, I will be going on a field trip tomorrow, I want to see the ongoing projects of the company personally." Peace stated.
"Huh?" Mark flinched at her words and was a bit reluctant, "You don't have to go on your own. I will go on your behalf."
"You will be going too, and I will personally inspect the work— I have trust issues so," Peace replied in a plain voice. Her blue eyes stared into Mark's reluctant eyes as if trying to bring out the secrets he is holding. She knew that becoming the CEO will not be as she imagined because she became the leader against everyone's will and they will not be very helpful in her work.
Mark looked away, he looked flushed, "Okay, I will write that down," he pulled out a diary.
"Good-" Peace got up slowly and stepped closer to Mark, and sat on the other side of the table where Mark stood. "So, tell me, Mark. What is it that is bugging you? Do you think I will discover something that the company has been hiding?"
Mark gulped in his saliva and spoke, "I have no idea what you are talking about."
"Okay, if you say so, I will believe you." Peace got up and walked out of the office.
"Where are you going?" He asked in a surprised tone, as a while ago he felt like Peace was going to skin him alive and now she just walked away leisurely.
"I am going home— if there is something important give me a call," she replied and walked her way. Mark stood like a statue for a while until he heard a phone ringing on the table.
Buzz—buzz
Mark was standing motionless when he saw the phone on the table vibrate, it was Peace's phone. He swiftly picked and walked behind Peace.
He glanced at the caller ID that was "Hubby (hearts and kisses)" Mark stared at the screen in a daze.
"Oh! You found it for me," Peace too was coming back for her phone when she saw Mark walking through the hallway. She held the phone with her left hand where she wore a ring. Peace swiped the screen and took the phone to her ear before speaking. "Yes! Love," she mumbled in a soft voice.
When Mark heard that he gave out a deep sigh.
"Peace!!!! I think I am losing my brain cells, that guy is so egoistic!! How am I going to make him fall for me?" Ada shouted as soon as Peace answered the call.
"Isaac's food is all gone, should we buy him some?" Peace ignored her plea.
"Isaac? Oh, you mean the dog?! Sorry I mean your husband?" Ada suddenly got confused.
"Can you stop marrying me off to everything you see?" Peace opens her SUV's door and takes a seat.
"It's you who treats him like your husband, I just say what I see," Ada burst into laughter.
"Where Are you? Should I pick you up or you can come on your own?" Peace asked.
"Just come! I am too angry to even take another step," Ada pouted, "I am at Isaac's company— tsk why does he have the same name as your dog! I keep on mixing them up," Ada spoke again.
"Sigh! Just wait, I will be right there," Peace took a deep breath and started the engine.
Through the busy roads and the tall buildings, Peace drove and finally reached The Emperor's State (the official name of Isaac's company). She stopped and took out her phone,
"Come out! I am outside the building," Peace spoke.
"Okay I will be right there," Ada replied and walked out of the building towards her.
