The sisters solved their problems in just a few days, they started talking again, days went by, while Rain still living in the memories of Steven and her new world and Sophie in her world and problems.
The time came for Rain to attend the sophomore year of her high school and Sophie her middle school, both the sister enjoyed their first week in their new schools, while Sophie made her whole class her friend, Rain made few.
The sisters started treating kat and Oliver like their family and crying less at night. They both even decided to go on vacation at gramps's house with their parents and they agreed.
Both of them started going out with their new friends for movies, fun, party in just a month after joining their schools, Rain still remembered Steven, his world, and his promise of coming back when she will become 17 while Sophie forgot about it.
Months started going by, which Rain, Sophie enjoyed their school, parties, family, and more, at first Rain was looking for any stranger who might be the new team who were protecting her and also for the shadows that may try to kill her but soon stopped.
They both started being a part of the human world which Rain never wanted to and Sophie was scared of.
Sophie without any thought of being in one place for safety signed herself on a trip and Rain without even thinking much about what she promised Steven agreed to go on a beach trip with their friends, at the start of the school year, they made a pact that they will not give trouble to the new team that was protecting them but they forgot about it.
More months went by exam came, they both studied hard and passed their respected grades. Finns gave a huge party on their passing which all the family members attended.
At the party many things they got to know, but to Rain's surprise, she got to know that aunt Margaery started dating Zack while Gramps and gramma bonded over astrology and what not.
They laughed and played. They both had a great time with them.
First Rain's birthday came on 13 May which they had a blast on then came Sophie's birthday on 19 July which they celebrated at gramps's house.
on Both of their birthday, they had forgotten about Steven's promise, his world, and about him too.
One year passed and Rain started her 16 and Sophie her 13. August came and they both were excited to attend next school year, which would be Sophie's last year in middle school and Rain's junior year in high school.
It was a shock for the Finns and Rain too when as soon as the school year started Sophie brought a boy home, which she very gently said was her friend only but accepted to Rain that he was her crush. Soon the crush faded and the boy was gone.
Rain's friends were all in her junior year too, she started attending more parties and in just a few days brought a boy home too, which made a very bad impression on Oliver.
Oliver stated firmly that Rain is not allowed to date boys like him, who were bullies, and had bad reputations or was too rich and arrogant which result in Rain and Oliver's big fight and Rain's crying while hugging Sophie in Sophie's room every night till 3 days.
One day after about a week when asked by Kat she finally said, "I don't like him anymore." And made up with her father and to Sophie's relief stopped coming into her room to cry but to only have fun and laugh.
Slowly months started passing by, while Rain stressed about all the clubs plus exams that she had to give were burdening her And Sophie stressed about her last exam of middle school that will define her reputation as well as her classes in high school
Kat tried to soothe the sisters with her advice but to no result. When the exam came, Rain one day from over-stressing cried to Kat for help, and Sophie seeing that cried the next day for her help too, which made Kat and Oliver laugh.
The family started having study sessions daily after that incident in which Oliver would do his presentation work and Kat would do her office work while also helping Sophie and Rain and giving them support.
After the exams were done, they throw a huge party as a relief and over the happiness of study sessions being over finally. Which Sophie and Rain enjoyed and danced in with all the family members.
Another party was thrown for Rain and Sophie's friends after the results were out as another year of schooling was complete where no parents were invited as well as no alcohol too.
Another birthday came, another year passed. Rain was now 17.
While dressing for her party in her room Rain looked at her reflection and smiled, I look amazing she thought, I am 17 now, soon would be 18 will become an adult, and she smiled.
Then the silent deep man's voice said inside her head, "I will meet you when you are 17."
she frowned as the green eyes flashed in her memories, what was that, I remember that voice she thought.
"Rain? Can I come in?" Came kat's voice, she quickly let her hair loose and shouted, "Yeah!" And the thought was gone, the night went by, while she had fun while playing with ben who was now 12, and talking with Ela about her clubs.
She although thought about it at night and for many more nights, she started sleeping with tears in her eyes while remembering the green eyes, the deep soothing vice of him. She tried telling Sophie about it and thought if I had forgotten about him why would Sophie remember him, she hated him.
Steven. He said he would come and he didn't, he said he would be here when I am 17, and he is not, he said that he would not break his promise and though he did, he lied.
She started looking unintentionally out at the backyard from Sophie's room or from the hall or whenever she can. At the fence that was once cracked.
Then it was the time of Sophie's birthday, the Finns invited all her friends plus family members and Sophie was having a great time.
Her friends were scattered and dancing, playing in the backyard, the weather was nice, the DJ system was at high volume, and the family members were inside and talking just a few came outside.
She was out and dancing, chatting, and parting for 2 hours and she wanted to rest. She got inside the house while excusing herself from her group of friends and while talking and replying to everyone she made her way towards the kitchen.
She thought she wanted some fresh air but everywhere was pack with people.
"What happened?" Rain asked who was sitting at the dining table with Ela and Margaery.
"Wanted some fresh air," Sophie replied and the three girls laughed.
"It's your birthday, ask for something else," Ela replied laughing
Sophie chuckled too and made her way towards the stairs and started towards her room. She thought she would sit for a moment in her room the go back down and be the center of the party.
She opened her room door while rubbing her dress after going inside she closed the door behind her and started rubbing the red satin off of her dress with more force as it might convert into a permanent stain while still standing.
"Wear something else." Came the voice.
Sophie jumped with a yell that went unheard in all the DJ sound and looked at the person standing near the window.
A guy was standing beside the window while leaning back on the wall, he was tall and looked muscular with a thin face and green eyes.

Green eyes flashed inside her head, memories started coming back, the guy in front of her waited with a smile plastered on his face.
With an excited scream, "Steven." Sophie ran towards him and hugged him and he hugged her back while chuckling and lifting her off the ground.
He was ready for it, he was expecting this from Sophie, he thought, I didn't do all these efforts to come here just for nothing, this greeting proved him right, he had something in the human world to count on.
"Happy birthday little witty devil."He laughed while hugging Sophie tightly and Sophie smiled.
What would Rain's reaction be like, after all, she is Sophie's big sister she would react big, right? Would she hug me as tightly as Sophie did? Or would she cry after seeing me? Maybe she would just stand there dumbfounded and then hug him or more or something like that, he thought. He was excited to see her now.
