Sophie let Steven stay in her room for that day as she went downstairs to attend the party. She was happier than she was before at the party, and she thought her sister was looking happier than before too.
Rain and Sophie both didn't say any words to each other, as they both went to their work of entertaining the guests. While in the backyard, Sophie could occasionally glance up at her window without anyone noticing and once or twice saw Steven looking directly at her from it and she would blush and look down.
She was happy he was here but happier to tell him what had happened after he was gone. What major changes had happened that he couldn't see with his eyes. she wanted to tell him about her powers, which she can control a little bit now.
After he was gone, she used to see Rain doing the exercises and training he taught her to make her powers come and do the exercises and training herself. Because of that, she was now able to control some proportion of her power perfectly.
He would be surprised, she thought if he saw her doing things.
After about 2-3 hours the party was over and soon it was time for guests to go to their homes, as everyone was in packing and leaving mode, Sophie snuck up to her room with a bowl and plate covered and filled with tasty dishes that were made, she knocked twice on the door to her room and opened it while announcing, "I am coming!"
She didn't know why she did that as it was her room and she didn't need to tell someone after entering her own room but something in her made her do that. She scanned the room and saw Steven sleeping on her bed, smiling she moved towards the desk near the window to put the dishes on it.
After putting the dishes on the desk and letting it be covered up, she moved towards the bed, Steven's shoes were clustered on the side of the bed with socks in them, she thought how good of him to not get on the bed with shoes. She hated people who would not consider things like removing shoes while on the bed or having bad table manners or taking things without asking the owner.
Sophie looked at Steven who was sleeping with his head over two pillows, his brown hair, a mess, his eyes closed and clam expression on his face, Sophie looked at him more closely, she used to always think that he looked somewhat wolfish, with his long straight nose, weirdly semi pointed ears from the tip and his green eyes, but now he was looking like a guy, who was just with features of a Greek god.
She bent down towards his face while folding and clutching her hands behind her, she looked at him, at his straight nose, then at his eyes which were now open, shining green. She jerked back and stumble and he laughed.
"What were you looking at?" he asked while putting both of his hands under his head.
"No…nothing." She stammered. Steven was about to tease her more when the tasty scent of delicious food fill in his nose, " Mhh." he moaned and his mouth watered.
Without even looking at Sophie he got up from the bed and moved towards the desk and started uncovering the plate and bowl. "Thank god!" He exclaimed looking at the food on the plate, "I was thinking that Rain might kill me from hunger."
Sophie looked at him while he without even spoons or anything started eating the food with bare hands, "You that hungry?" She asked.
"Mhm." he nodded with a mouth full of food. As stated before, she thought she hated a person with bad table manners but she doesn't seem to mind him.
"I thought, you came from your world to ours in hours, did it took that long?" She asked and he looked at her while biting off the roll he just made with all the dishes rolled together in a bunch of spinach.
"Mhm…" He started shaking his head in denial and gulped the large bite, "If I use power then I get hungry."
Sophie chuckled and sat on the bed, "Please eat patiently, I don't want you choking and dying here." Hearing it he grinned, "You won't."
He was showing no manners at all. Sophie watched him eat every dish while sitting forward on the chair, he was making her wonder what living in that world would be like, "If you can't use your power here without draining yourself then…" She started, he with roll in one of his hand and mouth full looked at her, she chuckled and continued, "Does that mean, that if someone with powers goes from this world to that world then she/he could use her/his power more prominently?"
He nodded and said gulping the food," You got it, smarty." she blushed, it wasn't that hard to guess she thought.
She wanted to ask more, when Rain knocked and came inside, "They are looking for you downstairs." She stated while looking towards Sophie and ignoring Steven. Without saying more she turned around and Strood off while the door stayed open.
Sophie looked at him and stood up, "I have to go…" She too ran off closing the door behind her without waiting for any reply from him.
Sophie's friends were waiting for her near the stairs, and as soon as she came down they all smiled and started exiting. Sophie followed them out and closed the main door behind her.
"We had fun…" One of her friends turned around and smiled.
"Yeah.. thanks for inviting us all." Another one stated.
Sophie blushed and hugged them both one after another and others too. Ather talking to them and bidding them byes Sophie returned inside to see Margaery and Zack standing near the hallway door talking with her father. They looked at her and came forward.
"Happy birthday once again love." Margaery kissed her on the cheeks while Zack kissed on back of her hands saying, "Don't grow too old" She laughed. They both took off while all 4 Finns waved at them.
Sophie turned with her parents and Gramps made his way towards her, "Happy birthday once again sweetness." He said while ruffling her hair.
"Who are you going with? "Gramma called after him.
"In the cab," he stated.
"Oh, you are too old to go alone, Ela, and I could drop you." She offered. and he nodded.
These few years Sophie notices Gramma and Gramps getting along like good friends, when she asked about it her mother and father, said, that they both are old and alone so they both get well with each other nicely as they need companions.
"My little angel, smile more, and may God bless you with joy and no sorrow." Gramma kissed her on her forehead and exited meanwhile ignoring Kat and Rain.
Gramps offered his hands to Gramma and she took it.
"When will you guys visit us?" Ben asked while Sophie turned towards him and smiled, "Mom said soon."
"Yeah, soon I hope," Ela replied while looking at Kat and Oliver.
"Ben, hug your sister, we are going," She stated while hugging Kat tightly and Ben did what was told.
After Ela, Ben, Gramps, and Gramma were gone, Oliver went inside and sat on the sofa beside Richard." Everyone gone?" Richard asked
"Yeah." Oliver sighed.
Sophie flopped beside Oliver on the sofa sighing while Rain and Kat went inside the kitchen.
After about 10-15 minutes Richard decided to go and while bowing down to Rain and Sophie he asked, "Give me the command to go ma'ams." Which made both the girls giggle.
After everyone was gone the Finns went inside and sat in the hall, exhausted from today's work. While ignoring the work and the cleaning that they need to do now.
The kitchen was filled with dishes to wash and paper cups everywhere, while the hall was packed with gifts that were behind the sofa and beside it as well, the backyard looked more of a mess than the house, cups, glitters and what not in all the directions.
The Finns decided to just eat and sleep today. Start cleaning the mess tomorrow, they eat a little and went up to their rooms. Kat and Olliver kissed the girls good night over the forehead and went into their room.
After about an hour Rain peeked out in the hallway and seeing the door to her parents' room closed she went straight to Sophie's room and knocked twice. The door to Sophie's room opened and she went inside.
While her heart was excited and happy, with the same familiarity and thrill of the midnight meetings that she had before, and the joy of having a friend and protector back with her. though she had to act angry for him to never be late again.
