Rain was helping Kat while talking with Ela and Margaery who were also helping Kat in the kitchen. While Sophie was with Gramma, Gramps, and Ben talking and playing. Oliver, Zack, and Richard were in the backyard discussing and joking.
"Food is ready!" Margaery called. Everyone started sitting on the chairs of the dining table, while Margaery, Kat, and Ela served them the food.
The dining table was extended, Rain noticed, 3 more chairs were added and an extra table too. Rain, Sophie, and Ben sat on the extended table. Gramps sat on the head of the family chair with Gramma beside her, both of them talking, Kat sat beside Gramps opposite Gramma with Oliver on her side.
Richard walked and sat beside Gramma, with Margaery beside him and zack beside Margaery.
They all laughed and ate food together and when the launch was over they all helped in cleaning up and started to settle in the hall for chit chat and to revisit memories.
Sophie got attached to Gramps and Gramma more than everyone else and faster than Rain, she was the center of attention as for tonight, and she was loving it. While Rain never left Kat's side as she was most comfortable around her only, Kat noticed it but didn't push her to get to know the family.
"Remember the time when you burned my hair?" Ela replied to Zack. As usual, they both were fighting about something.
" Yeah but only after you won't stop following us." He snapped back at her.
"Hh, you both, please stop." Gramma sighed.
"He started it" Ela complained.
"You stop talking back to your brother, miss." Gramma fumed at her.
They all knew how Gramma had that old thinking, that girls should do this and that, and everyone else hated it.
They all were now in the hall, Ela Zack and Richard teasing each other while everyone else talked.
The event lasted till night, Rain got close to Richard, Ela, Margaery, and Gramps, while Sophie got close to Gramma, Zack, Ben, and everyone else equally. Before leaving they all decided to meet again at some festival.
While leaving Zack offered Margaery a ride home, which she blushingly declined, Gramps and Gramma left one after another, Richard stayed for a bit then he too left with Ela and Ben, as Zack was going somewhere else.
The eventful day was over, Sophie and Rain fell on the sofa in the hall while Kat and Oliver did the same. They all were happy from this meet.
Kat was happy as everyone loved the children, especially Sophie, while Rain stayed a little in the shadows but still tried and bonded with some of them, Kat saw how Rain stopped going towards Gramma after the broken plate incident and didn't want to say, that it made her happy but felt happy because of that.
Oliver was happy that after so many days all of them were together and also because they all seem to like the kids, but as soon as he thought about that, he remembered what his mom told him when they were walking out in the yard.
"I love Sophie, she is perfect for our family, but can't you guys only take Sophie?" She asked, and Oliver frown.
"Mom, why would you say that, I and Kat love Rain."
"Well I can see who Rain loves and also how she is following your Kat but.." Oliver cut her in midsentence.
"Mom, it's not on you to choose, we already had taken them BOTH. And please just because she doesn't stay with you or pamper you as Sophie did, you can't say she is bad…" He fumed, "She is a good kid," He left his mom saying this.
He didn't try to talk with her all evening and just talked with her to bid her goodbye.
But the fact that mom said that was bothering him, but he told himself that his mom didn't even like Kat but look at them now, they were happily married for 4 years. He knew that his mom didn't like when someone ignored her or did not try to please her and that what Kat and Rain did.
While Rain was happy that she felt hopeful again like everything will be alright, this was the first day when she didn't cry for her mom and she was happy that everyone was great. But she was bothered by the fact that she felt like Gramma only liked Sophie and not her, but she can't say that to anyone, as that might sound rude.
While Sophie was pleased with herself as she had successfully charmed everyone and possibly won everyone's heart. She got tons of compliments on her dress and how cute she was looking and she was happy with that.
After cleaning and rearranging stuff they all started to go to bed, as everyone was tired they drifted into sleep quickly.
Steven and Ace watched the family members leaving one after another and watched when every time someone leaves, they both watched the happy faces of Finns waving. Ace was checking the identity of every member that was leaving, while Steven looked for any suspicious thing. But nothing happened.
They had assumed as today is the happy and eventful day for the sisters the shadow will appear to strike while hiding in between peoples. But their theory was proven to be wrong, everyone had a great time and left at night.
They started their car and moved towards the road in front of the backyard of Finns and watched the Finns sitting in the hall.
After some time, the light of Sophie's room turned on and Steven thought they all went to sleep as the hall's lights were off.
Steven ducked and crawled into the backyard through the gap in the fence and started moving towards Sophie's room, he looked at his watch and saw 1:1am written on it.
He climbed the tree and jumped inside the darkroom. Sophie was in deep sleep to hear any noise. Steven looked at her and thought, such a pretty face with such a devil of a mind. He softly poked her in the face and murmured, "Sophie."
"Sophieee."
"Sophie!" he whispered yelled.
She sat up in shock and was about to yell when she realizes its Steven and she stopped, "What the hell!" She exclaimed.
"Sorry, but had to come."
"Why? Did something happened?" She asked frightened.
"No, no... it's just... I wanted to talk to Rain... At least explain to her a little." He said awkwardly while rubbing his hands on the back of his neck.
Sophie rolled her eyes and remove her blanket. "Agh, she won't come. Don't hope for too much," She stated while moving towards the door.
But he still hoped.
Rain got up and looked at the watch on her bedside table, which was reading 01:07 am. " What the hell!" She yawned. She was too tired today, as she was thinking if she should get up or just ignore the knock, her door rang with a loud knock.
"Agh," She growled.
Irritated she opened her door and stated, "What!?"
"He is in my room, demanding for you. Don't WHAT me." Sophie replied equally irritated.
"Oh god, tell him to go to his world."
"Tell him yourself." Sophie started turning back towards her room.
Sophie entered her room and without even looking at Steven sat on the bean bag, 3 minutes passed, Steven thought, is she coming or not, then the door to Sophie's room opened.
Rain came in yawning and looked at Steven and questioned, "What do you want?"
"I... I can explain to you why the chances are like that..."
"Don't, please. I am not interested." She cuts his sentence.
"But..."
"She said. She is not interested." Sophie yawned.
"I heard." He snapped at her.
"Don't snap at my sister." Rain fumed.
Steven looked at the Rain, shocked and then at Sophie who smirked to make him angrier.
"Okay, I won't. but you just listen to me at least." He pleaded.
Rain walked towards the window and sat on the chair in front of it, and Steven sat on the bed too. He started while looking at Rain, "Look there are chances, though it is only 10%, I saw many people who had gotten powers from their one magical parent."
Rain looked at him, "Actually, I am not interested, I have a family here."
"Yeah, and I don't mind that, but there are still chances. So I wanted to tell you, that, look once you are 18 you can choose to transfer there or be here..."
Sophie cuts him off, "If we have powers." Steven looked at her angrily
"Yes, if you have powers which I think you have then you'll need me or someone to guide you in that world, I can help you if you want to.
"Let me help you in getting to know the world and your power. " He pleaded while looking directly at rain.
Sophie watched it all but thought not to say anything. Hurt was visible on her face, she thought, he seriously thinks that only Rain has powers.
