Chapter 26 - Chapter 26 Pyschokinetic Limbs

Still seated alone with Yuki, Luck ponders over everything that just happened.

*Can you send me the info on that mono-molecular thread? I want to see if I can recreate it using psychokinetic energy*

Yuki sends him various schematics for mono-molecular threads and hyper filament wire and the theoretical and practical uses for them.

Putting the information to use Lucks first attempt at recreating it turned into a thick thread that was almost as thick as his arm he thought. Which gave him another idea, he shaped the psychokinetic energy into a appendage with his will power and added a hand to the end of it.

With the psychokinetic hand he practiced cleaning up the ash in the room. It was a good exercise to help him fine tune his control with his psychokinesis.

In about a hour Luck had progressed from one psychokinetic arm to a dozen of them, that he could control with the same precision that his own arm and hand possessed.

For his next test, he wanted to see if he could compress the rather large mound of ashes that he had gathered up. First he put the ashes inside a force field of sorts made up of his mental energy and slowly shrunk the bubble to the smallest size he could.

Using his full concentration he compressed the large pile of ashes into a circular ball of pure black carbon. He had applied so much pressure the molecules in the atoms merged into each other and formed a perfect spherical rock of carbon.

The next thing Luck did was grab the ball with his psychokinetic hands and forced them to vibrate at a ultra high frequency. The hands rubbing together like this created friction and from that friction came heat. Compressing the sphere of carbon and adding the element of heat transformed the ball again. Into a smaller and harder shape as the carbon molecules fused again. In a few moments of time Luck had created a small diamond.

"Isn't that neat, it took 2 hours to clean up somebody else's mess and you made a shiny rock" Yuki says sarcastically.

"Want to see another neat trick?" Luck moves the diamond to the middle of the metal table. Then he manifests his psychokinetic limbs and had them vibrate at the same ultra high frequency as Yuki's monomolecular thread. Using only one of the limbs he extended it and punched through the middle of the metal table where the diamond was and completely destroyed the entire center support for the table.

The surviving surface area of the table smacked into the floor with a loud clang and Luck shortened the limb. He was holding the diamond that was perfectly fine between two fingers of his manifested hand. He then pinched his fingers and shattered the diamond into dust.

It was a impressive combination of mental control, technique and raw power. Yuki had to admit, he didn't waste 2 hours here cleaning after all. What surprised her was that he didn't even think about doing all that, he did it subconsciously while checking the PFED for his bank account balance and was wondering what the cafeteria had for breakfast.

"Neat right? Alright let's go eat some breakfast I'm hungry." Luck said and picked Yuki up in a princess carry before hovering to the door and setting her down beside him, while holding his arm out to her.

"Shall we go then?" He asks her, and she takes his arm linking it up with her own and they head off to the cafeteria for breakfast while ignoring the broken table completely.

The Colonel had received Docs report about the two healed patients in the infirmary and transferred a decent amount of credits to Lucks account for his service, so he didn't need to worry about small costs like his meals for a while.

Arriving at the cafeteria which was mostly empty, Luck leads the way to a table in the corner of the room. Linking his PFED to a receiver on the table that also doubled as the days menu and payment center. Luck orders a fried ham steak, a half dozen hard boiled eggs and some pancakes for himself.

Yuki settled on a cheese and ham omelette and after ordering and paying, their food was brought to them by a young boy. Luck figured he must have been someones on the ships child and they just had him help out here. Then he remembered this kid was likely to be older than himself right now - sort of anyway. That got him thinking he should use his life power to grow himself up a little bit later.

The two of them ate in silence until Luck spoke up. "We got a bit of time to kill, anything you want to do?"

"Not really, just whatever you feel like doing." She replied blandly

"Ahh that's so boring, come on let's go exploring around the ship now that we got a chance. There's got to be some interesting stuff we can see here."

She shrugs and rolls her eyes in a very human like manner in response.

Luck starts to think seeing her reaction.

*You had your own life before this didn't you? I initially thought you were just a system, a program that was sent with me. I don't think that's simply the case anymore."

[System - I did indeed have my own life before coming here with you, and while I am bound to you, and it's true I am your system. I still have my own thoughts, and free will. I am my own person, I don't feel like talking about myself right now though. Maybe later we can have this conversation.]

Deciding to respect her privacy and remembering their earliest exchanges he theorized that she didn't come here voluntarily. It was much more likely that she somehow got involved in his reincarnation against her will.

*Hey, I'm sorry about all this. If there's anything I can do for you just let me know.*

He's gotten more perceptive Yuki thought. This change in her life wasn't all that bad to her anymore. It was definitely more entertaining than her past and seeing how Luck was growing and adapting to his new life made her realize her own thought processes was too rigid, not imaginative enough.

She didn't really mind her situation that much anymore. Initially her biggest fear was that Luck would get himself killed and because of their connection she would die with him. Now that she saw for herself how he had done things she couldn't even imagine just to improve himself, she wasn't worried anymore that he would just up and die on her.

In fact being honest with herself, she rather enjoyed her situation.

Luck had finished eating by now and was just sitting there people watching for entertainment.

"Alright, let's go exploring" she said with a smile, standing up she held her arm out to him.

Getting up from the table Luck walked over and took her arm in his and set off to explore the ship with no real destination in mind. As everything would be new to him anyway it didn't matter which way they went.
