Chereads / A Demon Princes Rise / Chapter 11 - A kind captor

Chapter 11 - A kind captor

Breathing in deeply Aiwin and Elaine looked at the sword on Their captor's hip, and then seeing him point to his right hand with his left they saw it, There sat a black ring set with a dragon around his right pointer, their blood froze. That ring was the demon king's ring, only a true demon king could wear it.

A charming and deep voice woke them from their stupor, "I am the next demon king wherever you want me to be or not and I need my new servants. So I'll take you back to your father and have him give me them for you, simple is it not?"

Aiwin was shocked then her shock turned to sadness, "please just leave my people alone, I'm sure you and my father can come to an agreement but please dont destroy my home sir Eduard, I beg you."

"Princess trust me I may not be a kind demon but I am proud and always keep my word, I will never lay a hand on you without your permission, rest assured I will not destroy your country unprovoked."

Seeing Eduard make a promise, Aiwin was inclined to believe, even though from childhood she was taught to not trust humans and Demons. "Thank you sir Eduard, I will try to help you get your servants if you keep your word."

Looking at Aiwin making a promise to him, Eduard smiled, "well if that is all, I shall be leaving this tent to you, enjoy your nights rest, beautiful elves." and with that he left the tent

Looking at Eduard's departing figure for some reason Aiwin was almost sad to see this handsome demon go.

Eduard was quite pleased as he exited the tent, having the elven princess in his care was a stroke of luck, it would be easier than he had thought to retrieve his servants. Though the Elven princesses grass green eyes, milk like skin and promising curves would be a shame to lose. Though he doubted whether the princess would have any interest in a demon like him.

Walking over towards Grimble, Eduard gestured to the orc. "Have two orcs go and scout ahead, I want the rest of this journey to be as fast as possible."

Listening to Eduard Grimble nodded and slightly bowed. Smiling at the gesture, Eduard walked away, I needed to keep working on my swordsmanship Eduard thought. He had grown rusty while he had been wasting his time on magic. Edward sighed if only I had found the altar sooner I would be so much stronger, thinking that he moved to one side to practice with the sword.

Like this the night passed, the orc scouts reported no trouble ahead. Deciding to set out early Eduard walked towards the elves tent, sliding aside the curtain he saw that the food he had left had been polished off, it seemed he needed to feed them more. Looking to the other side of the tent he saw that both elves were still asleep, curled up on their sleeping rolls. Chuckling to himself and opening his mouth into a grin. Walking into the tent he bent down next to the sleeping elves.

"Aiwin, Elaine it's time to wake up, get ready I'll be eating breakfast outside come join me, before we set out.

The two elves who had been suddenly awoken due to the voice coming from nearby opened their eyes. Looking around Aiwin's eyes went from half asleep to full moons, before her stood her demonic captor Eduard.

"Hey you two get up already and come get breakfast we will be moving on the road soon." he stood over them with a smile and then turned and left the tent. Though they were prisoners he treated them with courtesy and had not done anything bad yet, maybe he wasn't really that bad.

Walking past the orcs preparing the carriage and loading the materials and supplies onto it, the sun was just rising and they would be getting an early start. Turning and looking at the clear skies and summer weather, Eduard's mood only turned for the better. They were only two weeks time from the elven countries border. Soon he would be able to retrieve some truly useful helpers. Turning and walking towards where the orcs had set a table he looked at the food prepared from the elves packed rations, this really was the top quality food.

Sitting at the table and turning towards the elves tent he could see Aiwin and elaine exiting it, their beauty truly was stunning, The morning sunlight came across their slightly tangled hair. Their long ears poked out of their hair and they wore dresses made of the finest materials. "You get enough sleep you two?" looking at their slightly tired and worn faces he could see worry for their coming day in his custody.

"Just fine thank you for your consideration, Eduard are you waiting for us to start eating."

"No no I just arrived, I was just appreciating a nice view, don't you agree?"

"I have no idea what you mean Eduard, I think we should just start eating." Aiwin said with a slight blush on her cheeks, though it quickly faded.

Chuckling at Aiwin's slight flush, Eduard gestured for them to start, and they obliged. Silence filled the air as they ate, Eduard deciding to cut off the awkward pause opened his mouth, "we are only two weeks away from your homeland, are you excited to see your family?"

Aiwin and Elaine both paused their meal to look up, Aiwin was the first to reply. "Of course I can't wait to see my father and the forest's of my homeland, but will you truly safely return us, will you keep your word, Eduard? She seemed hesitant to ask but she still did look him in the eyes as she did so.

Pausing for a second Eduard smiled, "Of course, have I not already put my honor on the line, I shall return you untouched to your father, you are lucky it was me and not someone else who captured you two, I may be a demon but I am a kind one."

Aiwin looked down for a second and then responded with a slight smile, "I guess we are luckier to be your prisoners than another, thank you for your kindness, Eduard."

"Well you two finish up your breakfast, we will depart shortly, this time I trust you two will cause no trouble if I leave you in the carriage alone for the rest of the journey?"

"Don't worry Eduard, we won't try to run away. It's easier if we just behave right?" Aiwin asked with a slight sigh.

"Thank you for being so cooperative, I shall take my leave now, eat your fill girls." and with that Eduard walked away.

Training with his sword until they were ready to depart, Eduard walked towards the carriage. Climbing on the carriage to leave Eduard looked to the horizon. The weather was clear, barely a cloud in sight. Smiling at their good fortune and with one last look at their campsite, Eduard whipped the horses, starting their journey once again.
