"This place is really big!" Fate looked at the large house that was much different than the buildings in the main part of the city. This was an actual red brick mansion that had four floors and almost thirty rooms to it. It could be considered a castle almost if it had a large throne room with a big red chair.
"Yeah, my family was one of the first families to buy property here and build, so they got a good deal on the land. The red brick was not easy to get. In total, they spent a few million to get the brick itself, so in all, I think this place cost almost ten million." Jean explained lightly. But for Fate, ten million was really beyond her imagination.
"Maybe one day I will make that much money..." Fate let out a sigh. She still had so much to accomplish, and things like money were very much needed.
"You forget Fate, my money is already your money. Let's go in." Jean said with a smile. She hooked her arm with Fate's and brought her through the estate's gates.
The inside of the mansion resembled the elite house on how the bottom floor was set up. Jean and Fate walked through the big double doors of the mansion and into the main hall where an old man with short grey hair stood in a black suit. "Young Miss. Everything is set up. Are you sure you only wanted one room for the two of you?"
"Old Sam, you are being rude to a very important guest. Introduce yourself first." Jean said coldly she was not happy at all at how he failed to introduce himself to Fate.
"Jean, it's fine. Grandpa Sam, it is nice to meet you." Fate smiled and bowed her head slightly. She always had respect for the elderly as long as they were not looking at her with eyes full of disgust or hatred. She could tell that Sam was putting the lady of the house first, which was a normal thing to do.
Sam blushed slightly after being scolded and bowed his head towards Fate. "This old man has been rude to Miss Vampiria. Welcome to Zephyr residence." Sam already had a good impression of Fate since she did not mind his discourtesy and even called him grandpa.
"It's fine. Really, please lift your head." Fate felt slightly flustered to have someone bowing like this to her. Her servants already held her in high regard, which she was still getting used to.
"To answer your question Old Sam, one room is perfect. We are like sisters, so sharing a bed is fine. You can go do your thing. We plan to go out and level here shortly; we may not even be back tonight." Jean answered Sam's earlier question. It was not like she could say that the two of them were vampires and did not need to sleep.
"I see, Young Miss. If you need anything, please call me, and if you do go out, please be careful. There have been sightings of a strange monster in the area." Sam warned and then looked at Fate and bowed his head to her once more. "Miss Vampiria, please enjoy your stay."
"I will lead you to the room so we can put our things away." Jean smiled and took the bag out of Fate's hand, and led Fate to the elevator. It was not a portal but an actual elevator.
"This whole floor is ours. No one will come up here for the next few days so we can place the blood we brought with us into the fridge. I already told Old Sam that once we are here, no one is to enter this floor." Jean explained, trying to reassure Fate that things will be kept secret.
"It's fine even if they did. Everything is in containers with a lock anyway. Aiden set me up with a few special containers that need my biosignature to open." Fate explained as she took the bag from Jean and pulled out a large thermos. "Although this blood… Umm... It would be best to drink it alone..." Fate blushed. The thermos she pulled out was one that Aiden had filled himself. The rest were the blood of the girls that were killed by Jessica the other day. Before leaving, she had taken a small sip of the blood that came from Aiden, and just like when drinking it directly, she ended up feeling hot and bothered by it. So she knew not to drink this blood in the presence of others.
When Jean heard this, she grinned from ear to ear and couldn't help but tease Fate: "So do you plan to take a glass into the bath with you later so you can enjoy it to its fullest?"
Fate blushed and pushed Jean away: "Enough, let's get unpacked and get going. I want to hit level 5 by tomorrow. We only have three days before I need to go back to school."
"Fine, fine! I won't tease you anymore. We will head out to the west entrance, where many level 3 to level 4 monsters roam. We will start there and see how hard of a time you have soloing. If we plan to power level you, we will need to make sure you can at least take a few on by yourself, just in case." Jean wanted to make sure nothing happened to Fate during the process of their fighting. She may be a higher level, but she did not have many aoe skills to keep monsters attracted to her.
"Sounds like a plan. Let me get changed into some more battle-ready gear." Fate said before stripping off her sweatshirt. Jean couldn't help keep an eye on Fate as she changed. Even if she was female, Fate's beauty was something she could not help but look at. Fate noticed this and turned her gaze towards Jean with a teasing smile. "Enjoying the show?"
Jean blushed and quickly went to get ready herself. Seeing Jean all flustered made Fate chuckle since she finally got to tease Jean back after all the teasing she received from her.
An hour later, the two were standing outside the gates of the settlement staring at a large canyon in front of them. "We have a long way to go from here. The surrounding area is monster-free. It will take at least two hours to reach the outer edge of the safety zone. "
