Verchiel was mortified. His youngest had never struck him before, he honestly didn't believe he had it in him. Had it been Ramiel, his first born, he would've expected to be struck for speaking to him in that tone. But this was his seventh son, a nobody as far as Higher Nobility was concerned. He might as well have been born a well dressed commoner. To think he had the audacity to lay his hands on me!, Verchiel thought to himself. He will pay for this later!
He got back to his feet slowly and marched into the bedroom closet, slamming the doors open. He deep red hand print marked his left cheek. Verchiel was infuriated. How was he supposed to be seen by the King and his family like this? He needed to find a way for his lack of presence to be excused, he needed that excuse quickly.
He stormed out of the bedroom, his temper rising with each step. Verchiel shoved past busy servants, causing carts of food and cleaning carts to fall to the floor with a crash in his wake. He dared somebody, anybody, to even look at him in any manner he could find offensive. He was itching to take out his frustrations. He grabbed a nearby guard by the throat and slammed him against the wall.
"Where is the Lady Blackfyre?! Where is my wife insect?!," Verchiel roared.
"L...La...Lady B...Bla...Blackfyre is in her chambers sir," the guard choked out.
Verchiel let the guards throat going, watching him fall to the floor gasping for breath. He stormed down the hall and up the first set of stairs that led to his bedroom. He finally reach the double red oak doors engraved with the symbol of the two headed black dragon, their family crest, and threw the doors open.
"Sareash! Sareash! Where are you?"
"In the closet adorning my jewelry my love," Lady Sareash Blackfyre replied. "What is wrong my dear?"
Sareash saw his reflection in the mirror as he entered the doorway and gasped.
"How dare Ramiel strike you that hard!!!, Sareash fumed! "He shall be punished this time!"
"This wasn't Daniel's doing! This was Nobaru!!!," the king roared louder than ever. "That little bastard has done it this time. You are to apologize to the King for my absence under the pretext that I am feeling ill and bed ridden, then you are to excuse yourself to come take care of me. Nobaru will be severely punished for this later."
The turned around and laid in his bed defeated. Though infuriated, Verchiel was worried about the outcome of his youngest son's punishment. And the consequences there of.
