Chapter 4 - Lady Blackfyre

Sareash finished adorning her jewelry and stood. She looked herself over once, finding satisfaction in her reflection, and walked out of the closet closing the doors quietly behind her. Her wretched husband was still whimpering over the petty mark on his face. Nobaru should have hit him harder, she mused to herself as she walked out of the bedroom.

Closing the door behind her she walked down the stairs gracefully. She hated that man, hated him with a passion hotter than the seven hells. She was married off to him at a young age, and it had been years before he showed his true colors. He was a cruel, heartless man. And though he had never layed a hand on her, the children were another story. That had gone on for years, up until Ramiel had been bold enough to stand up to his father and show him he had enough. Then Nobaru had been born, the seventh son, and it had all started again.

Sareash had had about enough. She swore to the gods that if man touched her children one more time, she'd take his very life. As she exited the stairwell and in to the hallway a servant rushed up to her. She gave him a moment to catch his breath, as she portrayed a mask of impatience.

"Lady Blackfyre, the Royal family has arrived. Young Lord Nobaru is greeting them as we speak..." the servant reported.

"Well," said Sareash exasperatedly. "Let's not keep them waiting any longer."

Sareash strode down the hall to the last door on the left and stepped through to the main hall of the mansion. As she had been told, there was her youngest greeting the Royal family, and to her surprise getting on with them quite well. This was quite fortunate as his other six siblings wouldn't be along for some time, as they were out hunting dinner. With any luck Nobaru may leave a lasting impression on the King and his daughter, she mused and hid her smile.

Not wanting to waste anymore time Sareash made her way out from behind the main stairwell and towards the King and Queen of Sermere. She had dressed to impress that morning, it was a shame she was only making an appearance. She had spent hours hand picking her outfit. The form fitting crimson silk blouse with the black leather corset synched tightly at the waist, a flowing, ankle length, crimson silk skirt, with black lace covering, and pair of simple black silk slippers. Her waist length red hair, normally a mountain of curls, was flattened straight and shone like fire in the light filtering through the windows. Her lips had been painted the same color as her hair, as to offset her pale skin, and her eyelids had been painted in the same emerald hues as her eyes. Rubies adorned her fingers, ears, wrists, and neck.

"Your Majesty," Sareash said curtseying and bowing her head low respectfully. "It's been so long since we've had a visit from the Royal Capitol. What brings you to our humble home?"
