Sky's POV
It took me a moment before getting back to my senses. He left me with the princess. He doesn't know how much pressure am I feeling right now. He left me with their savior and told me he trusts me. What if I go wrong?
I looked around. The place is quiet and dark. Good thing is that the moon shines brighter tonight. I see a road to the houses that is quite familiar. It was in my dream when they took me here. This is the same road where I saw the family leaving. It's heading to the human world.
I didn't think much and just grabbed her hand to take her there. I don't know the way to this place. They kept me inside the room since I came here. I have never stepped into this area. All I know is that this road leads to that portal.
I walked with huge steps pulling the Princess who chose to be quiet I don't know why. I looked at her and saw how nervous she is.
"Are you sure we are going to the right path? What if we encounter them there?" she asked me. I heard the words that she said to me the moment I went to her room like a flashback in my ear. She looks really scared right now. "Do you know the way?" she asked me.
"Honestly, I don't," I told her. I saw how her expression changed. Her face showed annoyance and I can feel it. "I have never been here so, of course, I don't."
"Then why are you pulling me?!" she suddenly raises her voice which got me nervous because someone might hear us. She pulled her arm off my hand and looked at me. "What if you're pulling me to the wrong way?! I thought you know the way! Where can I hide?! I need to hide and leave!" she is almost screaming.
"I know! This way is the only way I know--" I tried to tell her that this way will lead us to the portal but she cut me off.
"No! I am going back! I'll go to Alexander."
My eyes widened when she said that and started walking away from me. "No. Wait!" I covered my mouth and ran to her. I held her arm and pulled her back. "You can't go there," I told her.
"Why?! I need to go to Alexander! He'll protect me there!"
"Please lower your voice-- Alexander took you here for your safety and now you're coming back?" I asked her. I now feel annoyed with her behavior. She sounds like a spoiled brat in an expensive school. She should realize the situation but she didn't.
"So you're telling me to go with you?!" she continued raising her voice. I looked around afraid that someone might see us.
"Please lower your voice for a bit-- I know you don't trust me, and I don't trust myself either but going back there will just get you killed. Can't you realize that?" I pulled her to a darker area but she took her hand away again.
"No! I'm going back!" she started walking back into the palace gates again.
I feel like I am dealing with a tantrum. I don't know what part is so hard to understand that entering the palace is dangerous. She can just hide wherever she wants if she doesn't want to follow me. I don't wanna be blamed if something happens too but going there is such a dumb decision.
"Princess!" I wanna shout but I couldn't. I ran to her again to bring her back but she kept insisting. What's worst is that she continued raising her voice. She knows that we're here to hide. She is just getting us all killed because of her ignorance.
Even a five-year-old kid will shut up in this kind of situation but she keeps on insisting to go in the palace.
"You can't go in." I tried holding her back but she keep on pulling my hands away from her.
Then I suddenly felt strange. I suddenly felt something is off. I stopped pulling her and tried to figure out what it is. I stopped for a moment. My guts are telling me something.
Then I heard footsteps. My eyes widened and I started trembling. I took all my strength to pull her and make her hide under the bushes around a very big tree. I covered her mouth because she was still whining about what I did.
I don't see anything or anyone close but I hear footsteps. I continued looking around and there I saw a group of demons in black cloaks walking toward us.
ALEXANDER'S POV
-Inside the palace
I went back to the hall to face Arnold again. Right now, I am going to make sure to kill him. My head is full of thoughts and mixed emotions. I am worried about what is going on with the Princess and Sky. As far as I know, Sky doesn't know anything in this world instead than demons and the powers. She doesn't even know any way outside the palace. I am afraid they'll get caught.
I draw my sword towards Arnold. I feel very worried about Cole. I saw what happened. Someone hit him from somewhere. It's not a weapon. I know the person is one of us Armanians. It is definitely not Arnold. I know it might be another snake from the palace but I couldn't care less.
"Alexander, we can't exterminate them all." I heard Cira tell me from behind.
I know that. I still need to figure out something before going back to the Princess and Sky. Sky needs to buy me more time. I didn't answer Cira and focused on Arnold instead.
"Where's the core?" I asked him. They stopped attacking us but I know he'll attack anytime. I saw him smirk at me.
"You think you'll get it even when you find out where it is?" he started laughing. "Fool." I didn't say anything. He smiled. "Well, I am certain that you will die this morning. I'm going to give you a clue...." he smiled widely. "It's in the land of all demons!!" he finally revealed.
Land of the demons?
"Let's go!" I told Cira, Blaze and Amaya.
SKY'S POV
We are both trembling right now. I didn't do anything. I couldn't even move They are very close to us right now. A girl wearing a black mask is leading them. She is carrying an arrow and a bow. She's not wearing a cloak like all of them.
I tried hard not to move. I even held my breath while they are passing by us. They didn't notice us. They are heading into the palace gates.
They disappeared on sight. I waited and decided not to move until I make sure that they are gone and won't come back.
I removed my hand covering her mouth slowly and told her not to say anything and stay quiet using a hand sign.
But we are so close that she had to step back. The loud sound of a branch breaking gave shivers down my spine. Then I heard footsteps coming to us. I looked up and saw a demon watching us hiding behind the bush.
"AHHHHH!!!" We both screamed. I don't know what pushed me but I immediately took her hand and ran with her. I don't know where we're heading but all I can do is just keep running. For sure it's chasing us right now. I don't need to look back. I ran as fast as I can holding her hand to drag her with me.
I have never been so scared like this all my life. I have never run fast like this either.
Then I saw the portal. I have no intention to get in there and go back home so it's a dead end. I can't bring her with me because we both don't know how to come back.
I looked back and saw the demon with a sword behind us. I took all my courage to block him from hurting the princess. I pulled the princess to my back.
He is slowly approaching us. He's determined to get rid of the both of us. Suddenly, I saw a white slash from behind him. My eyes widened and I felt relieved. It's Alexander. He killed the demon.
"We need to go now," he said. After saying that, Cira appeared with Blaze and Amaya carrying Cole. He's still unconscious. I let go of the Princess' arm and we both went closer to them. I saw how the Princess hugged Alexander. This must be what they are saying. They are meant for each other and each other only. I shifted my gaze right away and went to Cole.
"Is he okay?" I asked them but no one answered. I raised his head. He's alive but he's just unconscious. He's not bleeding at all. He's not pale too. I decided to shake him hard and slap his face. He's just sleeping. I slapped him once and his eyes started to move slowly. "Cole? Are you okay?" I asked him when he started moving his head. Amaya attended to us too and checked on him. He regained conciousness. He looked at me when he woke up.
"Where are we?" he asked faintly.
"We went out of the castle," answered Amaya to him.
I stood up and looked at Alexander. "What are we going to do now?" I asked him.
"Hide for the meantime." he answered. He shifted to Cole and checked if he was ready. Cole looks fine now. "Let's g---"
We all went down when someone appeared behind Amaya and Cole and something exploded. My eyes widened.
They found us!
"Rats!" I heard Arnold. Alexander went to him right away and blocked him from going to us. He is with the demons. I stepped back when the demons started going for us. They went to their own positions right away.
They started fighting again. I don't know where to focus. I can't hide anywhere. "Sky! The Princess!" I heard Cira call me. I looked at the Princess right away. She is just staring at them and doing nothing. I don't know what she can do. She's the princess but I have never seen her show anything since the fight started.
I immediately grabbed her and looked for somewhere to hide. I went near the portal. A huge rock stands there. I pulled her there while the fight is ongoing. I pushed her behind the huge rock and we hid there.
Alexander and Arnold are fighting again.
Everything went like that for minutes. Everybody might be exhausted. I can't help in any way but to hide the Princess here and if someone gets here, Do everything to protect her. I looked around to find anything that could possibly protect me. I can only see rocks so I took rocks that could only fit in my hand.
I watched them fight with the demons. Demons are added up with each kill. It's really impossible for them to kill them all. I think they just need a perfect time to escape from all of them. But I saw Alexander fighting with the demons. I looked for Arnold but I can't find him anywhere.
Minutes later, while Cole, Blaze, Alexander, and Amaya are fighting the demons, Cira went to us. "Let's go," she told us and held both me and the Princess. But something wrapped around my waist and stopped me from going with Cira. My eyes widened when they disappeared and I am left behind. I started trembling again and looked back.
A white thing wrapped around my waist and stopped me from going with Cira and the Princess. It's Arnold. I saw his face smiling while putting me high up in the air. I tried to escape but I couldn't. "LET ME GO!!" I shouted at him but he didn't listen to me. I tried to throw the rock at him but it didn't reach him. My eyes widened and tried to escape.
I tried to pull the thing out of me but I am not even moving it even for a bit. I continued doing it for my life. He put me higher and it scared me so much. I raised my head and I saw Alexander appear and slashed the thing wrapped around my waist. I almost blacked out when I started falling but he caught me and made me stand and then disappeared again.
I almost fell when he let go of me. I looked everywhere and I don't see them anymore. Alexander appeared in front of me. "Where are they?" I asked but he didn't answer.
They were supposed to escape. Did he stay to help me? Behind us is the portal to earth. I thought of going but Alexander is still here facing Arnold.
"Why didn't you just leave her Alexander? She's just a demon from the earth," he asked Alexander while laughing. "Where's the Princess?" he asked but Alexander didn't answer.
Slowly, a familiar smoke went all over the place. My eyes widened. it's the same smoke that killed his father. "Alexander, go," I told him but he didn't move. "Alexander Go!!" I shouted at him but instead of going, he dropped his sword and a familiar scene happened. He did what his father did. He tried to stop the smoke. "ALEXANDER NO!!!!"
I couldn't move, I watched him as he struggle to push the smoke away.
What if he ends up being like his dad? The dark cloud went darker and I heard him grunt.
I don't know what to do...
My eyes widened when Arnold appeared behind him and slashed his back and disappeared. My eyes widened and went to him right away when he fell to his knees. Blood went out his back right away. he's not okay. I saw the smoke coming to us. I tried to lift him up. He's almost unconscious but he still went up. I placed his arm on my shoulder and tried to move him. I looked around and I couldn't see anywhere to hide. The smoke will catch us both. I looked back and it was very close.
I saw the portal. I breathed heavily and looked at him. His eyes are closed. I placed my other hand around his waist and walked to the portal. The smoke is 3 meters away and I need to hurry. "AHHH!! COME ON!!" We are a few steps away from the portal and the smoke is right behind our backs. I took his hand from my shoulder and pushed him in. I looked back and saw the smoke coming toward me. jumped right away.
