Sky's POV
All eyes went to the door to see who it is. Arnold.
The old man peeped and found out that we are looking at him. he smiled and opened the door fully and went in. "Kids." he greeted.
"What is it Arnold?" asked Alexander.
"I just want to join you here." he smiled. "I want to know if I can help," he said but no one answered. "At least just let me know about the plan."
Everyone went silent for seconds, I saw how Alexander glanced at Blaze before answering. "Alright."
We continued with the plan but I can't focus because I don't know about Arnold yet and it was kinda intimidating that he was there.
"So you're gonna put most of the guards inside the palace than the palace gates? Why?" he asked.
"Because they can teleport and I think they will enter the main tower right away," answered Alexander.
"hmm.. right."
After an hour, we finished everything up.
Everything is ready, the guards, and the posts we will be staying at during that time and who's in charge of this and that.
And all I have to do is to stand in the middle and act as if I was the one being crowned.
I woke up suddenly in the middle of the night feeling so scared and cold. I don't know what's wrong but I know there is. I sat on my bed and hugged a pillow. I looked everywhere as if I am expecting someone to appear inside the room. The room is not dark but it's quiet. the light from the sky is coming into the huge window and gives the whole room light.
I don't know what time is it since they don't have a clock. I looked at the sky and guessed that it was midnight. I hugged my knees tightly hoping everything is alright. I don't know why I am feeling like this.
I feel nervous.
I feel scared.
I don't know why it's so cold.
I just feel something is off.
I put my head down but immediately raised it up when I saw something from the window. It's an explosion. My eyes widened and immediately stood up. I looked outside the window and saw smoke and fire far from the palace.
I forgot what to do. I stayed still and I couldn't move. "What is happening?"
"Sky." My eyes widened and looked back immediately. I saw Alexander. "Get ready. It's starting." We didn't expect this to happen so early. It scares me
The palace actually has 5 towers. The main tower is where I am right now and the 4 other towers are surrounding this main tower. The other towers were assigned to the other 4 members. Amaya, Cira, Cole and Blaze. This tower where I was right now was guarded by Alexander. This is the same tower where the main hall was located. And also where the Real princess was hiding.
To enter the palace, you need to get through the palace gates. We placed guards there to guard the palace. If they are able to pass through the palace gate where some knights and guards are, they will be able to get inside the palace.
I am their target right now so we suppose they are going to enter the palace and go up the main tower right away but once they enter the palace, they will meet the knights and the guards. Some of them might survive and some might die. While they are fighting downstairs, it will give Alexander time to transfer me to the huge hall.
The guards might damage their group at the first fight at the entrance of the palace, the guards and knights can take half of the demons and when we are able to lure them to that hall where we placed the remaining guards and most of the knights, it will be able to kill them all and catch their master.
There are guards who are protecting the villages too and we only chose those who are able to fight inside the palace, those men who have the skills to do so too. We estimated half of them will disappear at the entrance of the palace and half of them will be able to get to the hall.
We expect them to split up so we placed knights and guards in the towers too to wipe them all.
I am with Alexander right now, I am watching him wear his black armor.
I am trembling right now. I have never expected this to be this scary. "W-where are they right now? Cira? Cole? A--"
"They are placing the guards right now," he answered. I sense that he's not afraid at all. he looks so calm but he's moving fast. I am trembling and I can't do anything but sit and scratch my hand "Stay by my side in the meantime. We need to wait for them to get to the entrance. Somebody will be here to inform us."
We talked about this but I don't think I can remember anything about it. "So we're going to sit here and wait?" I asked him nervously. he stopped and looked at me.
"Calm down," he ordered. I sighed and sat down again.
I wonder what is happening right now. What if they fail? What if something goes wrong? What if there are demons everywhere? Outside the door? What will happen? Will I be able to go back home after this?
"Stop it. I said calm down."
I didn't do anything but wait for someone to enter the room. I waited and waited and I am getting more impatient. I am really curious and worried about what is happening outside the room.
"Your majesty." My eyes widened when someone appeared. "They successfully defeated the demons. More than half was wiped out during the fight and some passed through. Your majesty, The demons are less than we expected."
I don't know why but my heartbeat went loud upon hearing the news. They are less than expected. I don't know if that its bad news or good news.
"Sky," he called me. I shifted to him. we are heading to the hall now but I feel like something is really wrong. But I still need to go with him because I'll fail the plan if I wouldn't. he grabbed my arm and in a split second, we arrived in the hall.
My eyes widened. The guards are down. Everybody is dead, it's blood all over the place. The knights and the guards are all dead. There's none left. I looked everywhere and then I looked up Alexander nervously. "W-what is happ--" but I stopped because he pushed me.
I fell on the floor and when I raised my head I saw Alexander jumping high from the ground then he suddenly disappeared. I got nervous when I couldn't see him but seconds later, he appeared and slashed a demon's neck and then disappeared again.
The plan failed and I am certain of it. We are supposed to wait for them here but sounds like they waited for us here. If that's the case, they knew about the plan. They are able to avoid the guards because they knew that it was a trap. Someone told them the plan and I think I know who it is.
Alexander appeared again and slashed two demons. I am nervous but I couldn't help but admire him. He disappears and slashes demons randomly the moment he appears on sight.
While I am in the center, I noticed that the demons don't pay attention to me. they ignored me and paid more attention to Zach. I am their target but they are ignoring me. Something is really off here.
I watched Alexander's movement. He's good. I feel like I am watching a fantasy-action movie while watching him slash every demon inside the hall. It somehow lessens my nervousness. I trust him because he promised me he's going to take me back when it's done.
I know I should not worry about going home now. They are in a bigger crisis right now. I once heard Alexander say that if something goes wrong, it might be the end of us.
I don't know what to do. I am just here on the floor, watching him kill the demons turning into dust after being slashed.
He disappeared again and appeared beside me. He killed a lot and I can see that he lost a lot of energy. He fought using his sword and his ability to teleport. Until now, I still don't know what else he can do. He never showed it to me and I wonder what it is.
"It's a trap," he told me. He grabbed my hand and we went back to the room. But before I could say anything about my thought of who betrayed us and told the demons our plans, my eyes widened.
The guard who went to us and told us they defeated the demon is on the floor, his own blood is all over his body.
I stepped closer to him and looked everywhere. there is no one inside the room. "We need to find them," he said and we teleported again.
We went to some places but we couldn't find them. We only found the dead bodies of the guards and knights on the floor.
I have never thought I would see this much blood ever in my life. I know that it's their duty to protect but seeing them like this makes me want to pity them. The demons are cruel, the people of this place have been threatened by the demons since the late king died and the black smoke disappeared.
It must have been hard for them to live like this. I just hope that they didn't attack the villagers and only went to the palace. If that happens, they will lose many people.
*FLASHBACK*
"Why don't you just let your people fight if they are immortals and they have abilities to--"
"You don't understand." he stopped me. We just got into my room and I tried to ask him about what I was thinking earlier. "Yes, they are immortals. They possess unnatural skills unlike humans but some are not born to fight."
"What do you mean?" I asked him.
"Armanians are classified into three classes. There are those who are gifted to protect, there are those who are gifted for living and there are those who were born to rule." he turned to me before continuing. "Those Armanians born to fight are the guards, those who are born strong become knights. They have the power to burn their enemy down, slash them using their hands, and many more. But there are Armanians who only possess the power they live their everyday life. Those who heat their water, control animals, keep the trees from growing, and many other capabilities."
I didn't say anything and listened to what he is trying to say.
"Not all Armanians can fight Sky. Some only know about living."
"And what is that other kind of Armanian?" I asked.
"Those who have no capabilities at all, they are demons," he said seriously.
No capabilities? No powers? Does that mean..
"Like humans."
*END OF FLASHBACK*
I looked at him. I know he's having a hard time. He's responsible for the deaths of these knights and guards.
If demons have no capabilities, how could they do this?
"Alex!" we both turned to the person who called him out. It's Amaya.
"Amaya." I called her, I am glad she looks alright but a bit exhausted. I know she's fighting too.
It looks like I am the only one useless here. Good thing is that they didn't let me out there.
"They are near the Princess right now. I met Blaze earlier and I am sure he's with them there."
then that means.
"Yes, they knew that we are hiding the Princess inside the Palace."
This is what they are avoiding but it's happening right now. This is why they ignored me. They are heading to the Princess. They knew about it.
Zach took my hand and we teleported again. We came to another hall. But this hall has more demons. I saw Cira, Cole, and Blaze fighting. It's only them and a few knights.
If it's not them, then it's Arnold.
Just when I thought about it, I saw Arnold not so far from us. He's wearing a black cloak and holding a staff with a dragon surrounding it.
I wonder what he's thinking. It makes me more afraid.
