Skylar's POV
Today is my third day in Armania. They didn't say anything to me. I didn't see Alexander in front of the window today. I woke up alone and I wonder what is happening with the plan right now but I hope it's going fine since no one is here to update me.
Alexander sent a servant to bring me food today instead of Cira or Amaya, I guess they really are busy. I ate alone inside the room while looking outside the window. I wanna know why Alexander keeps looking outside every morning. I brought my food and faced the window. I saw a huge space there that looks like a garden. There is something in the center of it that I couldn't recognize because it's too far for me to see. I licked my lip and went back to the table and continued eating.
After breakfast, I stayed in the bed since I have nothing to do for the day but then suddenly, Alexander went into the room. I stood up right away. "What is it?" I asked.
"We're going somewhere today," he said and went to me. I know what's gonna happen again. We teleported and arrived at a beautiful lake.
"Sky!" I heard Cira calling me from the other side of the lake. I saw a picnic mat there and a lot of food. I already know what was happening and I got excited.
"A picnic?" I asked Alexander. I looked at him and he nodded. I smiled very wide. I have never gone to a lake before and I have never gone picnic with someone.
"Let's go to the other side," he said and led the way. I followed him, we passed through a small bridge, the only way to go to where they are. I smiled and went to them.
"What is this for?" I asked.
"Well we often hang out here with the prince and since you're helping us, we want you to be here too," said Cira and continued arranging food on the picnic mat. I looked everywhere. It's a very beautiful place, looks like everything is at peace. I can see birds on the very large trees surrounding the lake. The water is so clear that I can almost see everything below. This place is so clean and I bet only a few people come here.
"Thanks for taking me here," I said. "It's so boring inside that room." Cira smiled at me and continued working with the food so I helped her.
While arranging the food they brought, I saw Cole and Amaya on the other side playing with the water. My eyes looked for Alexander and Blaze immediately and I saw them living their own life. I saw Blaze peacefully roasting fish not so far from me and Cira while Alexander is staring at the water all by himself.
I am still not aware of what these Armanians can do. I still don't know what they do before I came. they are busy during the day which is why I am curious about what kind of tasks are they doing. yes I planned with them but I am only aware of my part about it, I don't know what their parts are. I only know that they are meant to 'protect' and to do what Alexander asks them to. The plan includes assigning guards and everything. I guess they are assigned for that?
I shoved the thought off and continued arranging the food and when we finished it, I decided to walk around the place by myself. I first went to the most shallow part of the river and soaked my feet. The water is warm. I smiled because I have never soaked my feet on a lake before. I am not an outdoor person and I don't have time to go outside for fun.
"You can swim." I shifted to Alexander right away when he suddenly talked behind me. I smiled.
"It's fine, I'm okay with just soaking my feet here," I told him. Everything went silent when I said that and I am left to do nothing but think of something to ask to avoid the awkwardness. "Does anybody else know this place exists?" I asked him.
"Just this old friend of ours," he answered.
"Why is he not here today?" I asked as if I am sure he or she was a 'he'.
"He left us and joined the demons." I went shocked by what he said. So there's another member of their group but he left and joined the demons?
"Can I ask why?" I said faintly.
"I don't know either," he answered. "He likes this place the most, his home is in the water," he said without looking at me.
It must have been hard for them without that friend he is saying. I have never felt left by anyone before, I don't know anything about my parents and I only have friends that I met in the orphanage whom I treat as sisters. They are by my side this whole time and thinking about them leaving me is unimaginable.
I couldn't say anything so I shut my mouth and just stared at the water. He stayed by my side and I don't even know what he is doing there. I can't hear anything so I think he's just standing there so I didn't mind.
"HEY!" My eyes went straight to the other side of the lake where the food was arranged earlier. I saw Cira waving at us with the rest of the group. "Let's eat!" she shouted. I took out my feet right away and stood up. My eyes met Alexander's for a few seconds and we went to where they are together. "What are you two doing there?" asked Cira when I got to where they are.
"Talking?" I answered. She smiled at me and offered me food. We sat on the ground and started eating, Amaya and Cole are loud as always. All I did is to sit, eat and laugh. Blaze is so irritated by those two and it made even more fun. Blaze became their target and started teasing him about Cira. I saw Cira's cheeks turn red and she was smiling. "Yiee" I teased her and she pouted at me. Cute.
My eyes went to Alexander being very silent since earlier. I see him smile sometimes but only for a few seconds. His face turns to his normal poker face in a split of seconds after smiling. Even though he's not showing it. I know he's happy around them. he wouldn't come if he don't in the first place.
He's the crowned prince and the next king but he is still able to hang out with them. Armania lost its leader years ago and has never had any since then. They need to wait until Zach is ready and I think now he is. By doing the plan, he would probably gain his people's trust.
The smoke and the demons have been a threat since the king died. Now that Alexander will be the next leader, it's his duty to keep his people away from harm.
With that core, that the demons stole, he can wipe them all. By spreading fake news saying the princess will be crowned as queen, they expect demons to come out. Our plan is to catch their leader alive and make him talk about where the core is. if he won't we'll let the demons go back to their realm and follow them. We still don't know where that realm is and we expect the core to be there.
We thought of ways to follow them without them knowing and to catch their master effectively. but we can only succeed if everything goes according to plan. If not, it might be the end of all of us.
The queen will be locked inside that room while the war is going on. The queen is the most important because we need her and the power she'll receive. She'll be everybody's priority if something goes wrong.
"Sky.." I shifted to Amaya when she suddenly went to me and whispered. "Let's swim." she said.
"Huh?" I asked. She took my empty plate and put it down. Then she started pulling me. "Wait-- now? I just finished eating--" I stopped talking because she pulled me hard and I almost lost my balance because of that. "Wait!"
She pushed me to the water before I could say anything. I heard her laughing while I am soaked with water. My dress is getting heavy. I fixed my hair and looked at her. She's laughing hard. I saw everyone looking at me because of what she did.
I was about to go out of the water but I saw them dropping their plates and running towards the water. My eyes widened and I didn't understand what is happening at first but then I saw Cira swimming toward me. I saw the others jumping onto the water before I could get out of the water. "Sky! Swim!" Cira shouted at me.
They swam together while laughing. They splashed water at each other and laughed hard. Even the Prince and Blaze are laughing while splashing water. They look so happy together. they didn't use any of their abilities and just splashed water as any other human on earth does
.
The only difference between these two worlds is that Armanians have powers like in the movies and books, unlike earth. But if we're going to talk about how they live their everyday life, if you take out the fact that these guys have powers, it's just like on earth.
Knowing that they are in a crisis right now, it's amazing seeing them playing happily in the water. Just laughing and playing as if there's no threat anywhere. Pure happiness.
"SKYY!!" they called me and asked me to play along with them. I smiled and joined them.
After that fun lake getaway, we went back to the place as if nothing happened.
"We went there because in the next 4 days, is when we go all out with the plan," I remembered Amaya said.
She's right. Tonight, we are going to gather to review the plan and talk about how the plan went in the past two days.
When I got in the room, I changed my clothes right away and took a nap to rest and prepare for tonight. I woke up and saw Alexander waiting for me again. I stood up immediately. "We're going?" I asked him. As expected, he didn't answer and just went to me and teleported just like that. I am still not used to this teleportation thing which is why I almost lost my balance again.
"You're here." I looked at Blaze when he said that. I found out that they are all in the room and they'd been waiting for me. I can see that Blaze is annoyed. I bit my lips and looked down.
"Let's start." everybody stood up when Alexander said that. they all went to the circle table in the center. "Cole, how's the message going?" all eyes went to Cole who stepped forward and touched the table, and suddenly, an image popped out and it became a globe
Wow.
It looks like a globe, it's a map of I think, the whole place. He pressed something and turned it easily.
"I first went to the market since it's one of the news of the place is first announced. I disguised myself and asked for news from random people and they said the exact same thing," he said and showed us what the market looks like. "Then I went to the next village and asked the same thing, they all knew about the message," he smirked. "I suppose it has reached the whole Armania."
"Good job." Alexander touched the blue globe and it turned white. He looked at somewhere. I am so fascinated by how they do such things. "Amaya." Amaya stepped forward after being called.
"I went to the farthest village from the market and asked about it. it's all fine, they know about it too," she said. "I am certain that it has reached the demons at this rate."
"The news spread 2 days ago, they might be planning for an attack by now. Blaze." I watched Blaze step forward lazily.
"I talked to the commanders about this. l placed guards in different parts of the place especially inside the palace and the hall we are going to use for the fake coronation. I made them like how you told me to." he answered. "I chose the most skilled knights for the most dangerous places to ensure safety," added Blaze which made Alexander nod.
"Are you sure we are not going to evacuate the people?" Eyes went to Cira when she butts in. Alexander looked at him and sighed.
"No. it will damage the plan," he answered.
"What if they attack our people?" I can sense that Cira is really worried about it.
"They'll come here for the princess, Cira. They won't harm the people. They know they can't fight our people. yes, they might kill a lot of people but they are not many enough to survive. that is the reason why they still haven't attacked us for years now. they are afraid all of the Armanians are going to fight them." he explained.
Then if that's the case, why won't he just let people fight?
After that, we all became silent but someone knocked on the door.
