"Haven't you tried talking to her?" He asked.
"Ugh, Why do you and dad think talking to her solves the problem," I asked.
"Because it's been 10 years you both spoke to each other. You guys need to sort things out." He answered.
"Link, please. If this topic what we are gonna discuss. I would love to leave." I said with a pissed-off look.
"Okkay, then answer this. If you do as your dad asks and if get to leave Thailand. That means you know you have to leave me too right?" He said looking at me.
".....I know, but.....but... I can do whatever I want. I will take you to Singapore with me. You're the only one I have here, I don't want to lose you too. I'm sure we can handle the business by ourselves." I assured him.
"Why do you----" He was about to ask another question but I cut him off before he could finish his sentence.
"Stop it Link. How many questions you have in that small brain of yours?" I said in an annoyed tone.
"Fine. I'll stop, here, drink." Link gave me my glass.
"But, I can tell you one thing, the world's not like you see. I hope there will be someone who shows you the truth." He said in a low tone.
"Why wait for a bitter truth to spoil your life when you can have sweet lies to live a happy one."
"Even if you try not to seek truth, in the end, it always comes to you, Kiet. Then you will find the difference." He said in a quiet tone.
"You're so naive kid, grow up," I said with a smile.
"Ooo, you are drunk. Let's get you home." He said while standing up.
"No, I'm not. I remember everything. You know how I will be when I get drunk." I said while standing up and checked the time.
"Anyway, let's go home, it's getting late," I said.
Link nodded his head in agreement and we both came outside the bar after paying the bill. We went to the parking lot and I took out my keys when Link snatched them from me.
"What?" I asked while looking at him with eyes narrowed.
"Nothing, I wanna ride I'm sober than you are, so let me ride." He said while patting my shoulder.
"Fine, as you wish," I said.
Link started the bike and I sat back. He drove the bike to my house. I got off the bike.
"Here." Link said while giving my bike keys.
"How will you go? Let me give you a ride to your house."
"No need. My house is literally across the corner. I can walk." He replied.
"Sure? Shall I walk you home?" I asked.
"Don't show too much caring. I'm not used to it. I'm going now, bye." He said with a smile.
"Bye," I said and went towards my house. I went inside the house and went straight into my room, got fresh up, and slept. The next morning, I woke up, did some workouts, and practiced my boxing.
After getting fresh up I went downstairs and found Link in the living room.
"Hello." He said while waving his head. I looked around and mum wasn't there.
"Why are you here so early? I thought you'll be still sleeping with a hangover." I asked with a surprise. He never came home this early in the morning.
"I wasn't as drunk as you. And when it comes to the hangover I should be asking that question." He said while coming towards me.
"You know I will never get a hangover. By the way, have you had breakfast?" I asked.
"Not yet." He answered.
"Let's have it together then," I said.
We both went into the dining room and sat at the chairs and started having breakfast.
"You haven't told me the reason for your early visit," I asked again.
"I have something to talk to." He said with a stern face.
"What is it?" I asked. It's rare to see Link with a stern face.
"You decided what course you wanna do and the University you wanna join?" He asked. Now he's acting strange.
"Yeah. Business Administration in Shinawatra University. Why do you ask?" I said with a questioning face.
"I'm joining the same University then." He said with a small smile.
"What? Why?" I asked.
"I want to spend as much time as with you. I know these 4 years are the final years I see you and I want to spend most of the time by your side." He said with the same smile on his face.
"Are you out of your mind?. You chose a course just because I chose it and that too for some stupid reason?" I asked still with confusion.
"Yes. But the reason isn't stupid. If I think the reason was stupid I wouldn't accompany you in the school dorms all these years. I did it because I want to spend time with you and I'm damn serious Kiet." He said with a serious face.
"Well, if that's what you want then... who am I to object?" I said while shrugging my shoulders.
"So let's prepare hard for the entrance exams." He said while eating his breakfast.
I nodded my head. After completing our breakfast, we went into my room and started searching everything about the entrance exam and the books we need to read. After getting complete knowledge about it we started our preparation.
We both had combine studies at our places, mostly at his place. I used to have sleepovers at his house. Unlike my house, his house has lights, sound, and people, like living people, not Zombies. There were years I spent at my home with mum, but it never felt like I'm with her.
It felt more like she's never there and I lived in an abandoned house without lights on and the only sound heard is the cold breeze that's coming from the windows. The whole house felt colder than it usually is but his house... it's warm.
The sleepover at his house made me see a new Link, the one whose mature, bold, and stern. I never thought Link could be serious and he will get angry, but this time he proved me wrong. It's like he's having two different personalities, the personality he had when he's with me and the personality he has when he's not with me.
We both completed studying for the day and I laid myself on his bed with a sigh. I closed my eyes when Link spoke.
"Kiet, are you feeling sleepy?"
"Nope, just a nap. What is it?" I said after opening my eyes, he sat beside me on the bed looking at me.
"Nothing much I want ice cream." Link asked in a small tone.
"Ice cream? Now?" I asked with a doubtful face.
"Yeah. I feel like having one. We completed our work, let's go and grab some ice cream."
"I'm not in mood Link. You can go if you want." I said closing my eyes again.
