As Anna was pushed back, Kazein caught her.
"Don't be reckless. You're still weak, allow me." Kazein then set her aside and drew his sword.
"What?! But you can't even cultivate magic! Don't I can handle it!" Anna seemed quite worried.
Kazein paid no heed to her, he just walked up to the centipede and "clang!" The clashing of metal and the hard carapace rung through.
"Be careful! It's carapace might be stronger than metal!" Anna warned him. Then, Kazein dodged the centipede's tail, and countered. It cut through, but not all the way. It stopped at the hard tailbone of the centipede. He then withdrew and got his leg caught in the centipede's bite. Luckily it wasn't bitten off. As Kazein got back.
"Your leg, let me heal it." As Anna cast healing magic, blue light appeared the wound began to close. But Kazein left before completely getting healed. "Ah! Wait!"
"Oh boy. Looks like I got to do it now." Then, darkness engulfed his body, then the darkness entered through his eyes. In a split second Kazein disappeared and then slashed through the centipede's tail. Then got behind it and crushed it's back with a stomp. It was so strong it broke the ground. The centipede shrieked in pain. As Kazein repeatedly hit the neck, he cut through and killed the beast. Then, the darkness came back out and disappeared.
"Kazein, you. You're a dark walker? Did you hide it from me?" Anna looked depressed.
"No, that was the only skill I have. It exchanges vitality for a burst of power." Kazein didn't lie though, it's true it eats vitality, however, they're the souls of man.
"Eh? But why did you? Your life is more precious here. If I fought it I could have won and you wouldn't lose your vitality."
"Pfft don't cry. It's my life. I do what I want." Kazein didn't seem to be worried.
"I'm not crying! Who cares about your life anyways?!" Anna pouted and went on ahead.
"What's with her? It's true I do what I want with my life though."
That night, they camped out.
"Kazein, why do you want to look for this someone? Who is he?" Anna asked.
"I don't know, I don't even know where he is. All I know is that if I look for him, he'll help me get stronger." Kazein rudely replied. "You, why go to blue serpent clan? There's tons of big clans out north. Especially for water walkers like you."
"I want to look for my sister. She said she'll go there, and I should too. She left 10 years ago so I don't even know if she's still there."
"Oh? Sister, you two must be quite close."
"Yes. We were, at least we would have."
Kazein heard the sad voice of Anna, so he decided to stop. "Better sleep, there may not be good places to camp tomorrow."
"Mn, let's." Anna wiped off the sad expression and went to sleep.
