Chapter 1 - THE FATHER WHO WILL NEVER LEAVE

Psalm 27:10

When my father and mother forsake me then the Lord will take me up.

I was rejected by my birth mother that feeling alone can kill any child. Knowing the one who bring you on earth gave you away with no hesitation or reservation. And so far many years I have hated her for what she did, until I learned it was not just me alone but all her seven children.

I never get to meet her so that empty space inside still lingers. When humans deserted me; I have a God who never forgets me. When family members persecuted a righteous man the Lord will take him up. He will plead our cause, he uplifts us from out of all the hurt and pain, and wrap us in his arms the sweet warm embrace. He will set us above our enemies.

God's promises to us are different from what our parents have promised to us. Not just words but in action. God is good, He is holy, He is faithful and so are his promises for us, they are unbreakable. God's promises are a covenant with his people, it is an everlasting promise. His promises are true and sure.

When I am going through a difficult time I read God's words and reflect on all that He has to promise me. He promises never to leave me nor forsake but will be with me to the very end. It is indeed an assurance that when everyone around leaves and forsakes and forsakes us, these words are a comfort to my heart that I have a friend that sticks closer than a brother. Deuteronomy 31:8 says it is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.

Even though I was forsaken by my family, God promise me never to leave me alone. He will never desert me in the midst of my process. He will not abandon me when I am in the lowest valley and feel alone, God said to Joshua. Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest-Joshua 1:9.

When I was in All-Age School, I have so many battles to fight, I was picked on a lot because of the home I was coming from, so almost every day I would fight just to defend myself. I wasn't anybody's favorite. I was looked on as an outcast because of my appearance. In modern days I go to school barefoot, with no books, no bag, and no lunch to eat. During my six years of All-Age, I have to depend on teachers for lunch, or another student would feel sorry for me and gave me some.

When I did GSAT In 1999, and pass for Mile Gully High School, I was so elated and run home to tell the lady that grows with, no one expected me to and here I am standing in from of her with a big smile on my face. However, that smile was wiped off because she told me and I quote" mi Nah tek mi money sends yuh a no school, yuh big enough fi go look man" I was hard broken and sad, but I never know God was setting me up for something better, He has placed a ram in the thicket for me. I never realize that God that takes care of his own.

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Psalm 23.1-3.

In one of the most well-known passages in the Bible, God tells me he cares for me intimately and personally. He leads me. Feeds me and He gives me perfect rest in him. He is my good shepherd who refreshes me in his words. He restores my soul when I am weary. He personally leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake so that He can get the glory. The young me never understand what this passage was saying, even though I go to church every Sunday and know it by heart.

Yes, I was poor and needy at that very moment in my young life, here I was in deep need, but God send a lady to take me in and send me to High school, I never get to go to the one I pass for but I was grateful that she has compassion on me. The bible tells us in Psalm 40.17 As for me, I am poor and needy, but the Lord takes thought for me. You are my help and my deliverer; do not delay, O my God. The Lord takes thought for us individually "the Lord takes thought for ME." We are on his always on his mind. He knows our name even the very hair on our head is numbered. When we are poor and in need in our spiritual lives, when we are emotional, and even when we are weak physically. God is right there in the midst of it all.

I will all go through difficulties at times, but I am certain that God is there in the midst of me. If I pass through rough waters and seas or even through the fires of life. But God promises He will be with me just like how he was with like he was with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego midst of the fiery furnace.

God is the great protector and a loving father to us who do not have a father here on earth. Psalm 68:5 says Father of the fatherless, judge for the widows. He is the one who created us and knows everything about us so he will not leave us alone.
