Chapter 57 - Chapter 57

"Ah." Jaxon moaned softly, his head thrown back as he held tightly to Leon who grinded subtly down on him.

Jaxon was propped up on the kitchen counter, Leon standing in front of him and gently nibbling on his still sore bite mark.

"I don't remember asking either of you to help me cook." Darian said in a blank tone, watching them with dissatisfaction.

He was wearing an apron and brandishing a spoon, in charge of preparing brunch.

They could have gotten something from the kitchen or from the Luna who would be more than happy to cook up something for them but Darian had insisted on cooking.

"But I like watching you cook." Jaxon barely managed to say, Leon nibbling on his collar bones.

"And unless you want to eat burnt food, you'll take that somewhere else." He stated stiffly.

"With pleasure." Leon butted in, sweeping Jaxon off the counter without giving him a chance to speak.

Darian immediately felt their absence after they left, Jaxon muffled giggles and protests floating over but it was a good thing he shooed them out of the kitchen, if they had stayed, the fire alarm would have gone off for sure.

The other downside to their absence was that his worrisome thoughts came tumbling back, they hadn't had the time to discuss anything after they returned to their apartment.

Firstly, he and Leon had needed to take a shower and then they had to eat which brought them to where they were now.

It seemed like he was the only one who read into Ethan's odd behaviour and he hoped that it was just him being overprotective and nothing else.

He pushed those thoughts out of his head and concentrated on getting them fed, he had bigger issues to worry about anyway.

He and Leon had both decided to mark Jaxon and that hadn't been done out of trying to spite each other but that they really wanted to.

It wasn't a strange occurrence for a werewolf to have more than one mate, he could actually try to share with Leon because the one thing that they didn't see coming from going after the same person happened.

Jaxon actually fell for both of them.

He was still trying to wrap his head around how Jaxon had fallen for Leon, he just couldn't see it.

But if the both of them made him happy, then he would put in the effort to make this work.

And what do you know, maybe he would end up feeling something other than irritation for Leo.

"Alright, peel yourself off him." He poked his head into the living room to say. "Brunch is ready."

They settled in at the dining table which was situated in the kitchen, Leon had carried him to the table, they hadn't let him walk by himself all day.

And although it didn't make sense but honestly, other than the frequent making out, they were acting just as normal.

If he had gotten hurt, he realised that this was exactly how they would have acted and he was going to blame it on the fact that they didn't have his mark on their necks yet but he suddenly felt the need for reassurance.

"Umm…" He cleared his throat into the silence that was filled with the sounds of eating, instantly garnering their attention.

Okay, his concerns were beyond ridiculous but it would continue to tug on the edge of his mind till he got it out.

"You don't regret marking me, do you?" He finally got out in a tiny voice, because even if they wanted to mate him, it also meant that they had to put up with each other.

Two identical sets of cutleries tumbled to the table and they both got up to check up on him.

"Of course not!" Darian was quick to clear up his worries.

"Did we make you feel like we did?" Leon asked, looking awfully serious.

Jaxon immediately colored up, placing his hands on his face to try to cool it down.

He definitely wasn't going to have any intrusive thoughts about how they felt again because the next several minutes was them trying to smother him with affection.

He had to protest before they went back to their meals, their eyes fixed on him the entire time, this was so nice.

Sure he was going to give his mom and younger sister an aneurysm when he came back with not one but two mates, that would be one hell of a family reunion.

But that was a worry for another day, he was too doped up on happiness to bother about that now.

"Leon is in charge of doing the dishes." Darian announced as soon as they were finishing up the meal.

Leon nearly choked on his sip of water. "What?" He spluttered.

"You heard me." Darian said without missing a beat, a pleased smile on his face.

He got up to leave, taking Jaxon with him.

"Do you think he'll be okay?" Jaxon asked in concern, peeking over Darian's shoulder to check up on Leon who looked like he was in shock.

"He can hold his own against an entire gang of werewolves, dishes won't hurt him." Darian said calmly, sweeping out of the kitchen.

Hopefully, he wouldn't come back to find the kitchen in shambles, he wouldn't put that past Leon though.

He made his way to Jaxon's bedroom, where they would be able to get some cuddle time before they would have to leave for the 'brief' meeting with Alpha Noah.

Darian also wanted to use this opportunity to hear Jaxie's opinions of Ethan, just because there was no reason to be didn't mean he couldn't be overprotective.

"I'm surprised to find out that there was someone else who managed to stand Leon." He said casually, placing Jaxon on the bed who rolled around till he was comfortable.

Jaxon laughed at this, looking up at Darian with sparkles in his eyes. "Yeah, I was shocked to bump into him, he left with his dad while we were still teenagers, just after his mother died…"

Darian let Jaxon wrap himself around him, offering comfort for an old hurt that had long faded away.

"We still kept in touch for a while after that but then we all just drifted apart, Ian would be glad to hear that he lives just a couple towns over."
