They all ended up taking a nap together, more like Leon trapped them under his body and proceeded to fall asleep.
Jaxon was the first to wake up, sighing in disbelief, he hadn't planned to fall asleep again. At this rate, he was going to use up all of his sleeping hours for the rest of the year.
With careful motions, he got out from under Leon and Darian, relieved when neither of them woke up, he needed to take a breather from them to recollect his thoughts.
He made his way to the bathroom, throwing one last look at Darian and Leon who were still fast asleep on the bed, their backs to each other.
He worried at his lower lip in worry, even in their sleep it seemed like they didn't see eye to eye.
He went straight for the mirror when he got to the bathroom, hazel eyes fixed on his own neck, a small hand reaching up slowly to place a gentle hand on the marks.
They had a lot to talk about in the night but Jaxon's mind was long made up, they might have marked him and it would hurt a lot if things didn't work out but it would be easier on them all if the marking wasn't completed.
It was all nice and good that they both liked him, loved him even because you wouldn't slap a mating mark on someone you just liked.
He wasn't returning the favour though, although there was nothing more he wanted than to do just that but there had to be genuine results of Darian and Leon getting along romantically-
Hell! Jaxon would take anything at this point.
It didn't count if they made the effort just for him because in the long run, whatever they had would cave in.
He didn't think he could ever recover from that.
Now how did one go around getting their boyfriends to fall in love?
It wasn't as easy as just saying it, he didn't want them to have to force anything, that would be selfish of him.
This is why it was advisable to talk things out before fucking your best friends but he'd been there done that and would absolutely do it again.
Mating bites were prettier when they were fresh after all.
While the both of them were out cold, he should make some calls, just to reassure Virgil that his older brother hadn't fucked things up and to convince his sister and her wife that yes, he was getting enough sleep.
...and some other things but he wasn't required to disclose them.
He could also get some reading done, now while they were asleep and after they left for their meeting because he knew he wouldn't be able to concentrate on a book if they were around.
He left to a different room to make his calls so that he didn't bother their sleep, choosing to call Virgil first.
"Hey, Jax." Virgil replied almost immediately and Jaxon could picture him leaning back in his chair and pushing back his hair with his free hand.
"How are things?" He asked in a cordial tone but the steel in his voice made it evident that he wanted a report immediately.
"Going smoothly." He answered truthfully.
"There was a little skirmish this morning at training but that was to be expected and it was resolved quickly."
Virgil took that piece of information in stride, a frown evident in his voice as he spoke again.
"Jax? Do you have a cold?"
Jaxon stiffened at the question, just realising that his throat was still a bit sore from deepthroating Darian the night before. "Y-yes!" He agreed quickly, clearing his throat reflexively. "It's nothing serious though." He made sure to add.
Virgil wisely made no further comment, before Jaxon mistakenly blurted out whatever it is he was trying to hide. "Sure, I hope they aren't bothering you too much though, if they are, remind them that I can always order you back to the Pack and they'll get Dream instead."
Jaxon winced in advance on their behalf, nothing else would get them to behave faster than that. "Got it."
"That didn't go horribly." He muttered to himself after the call.
But just how would his call with Shana and Mae go? If even Virgil could notice how hoarse his voice was, the both of them wouldn't let him hear the end of it.
He absolutely wasn't calling them till his voice got better.
He must have jinxed himself though because just then his phone rang, startling him so much that he jumped.
He glanced at the flashing screen in horror, Mae was calling, of course-
"Hi." He answered in a small voice to hide the hoarseness, trying to sound cheery enough to dispel her worries.
"Jaxie!" She exclaimed happily, hesitating afterwards. "Um… did I catch you at a bad time?"
"No, no." He reassured her. "It's fine. How are you though? And Shana, and Ruby?" He babbled away, hoping that Mae would be too distracted to make any observations.
Somehow, he managed to survive the call without arousing her suspicion, breathing a sigh of relief when that was all done.
All that was needed now was a light snack to read with, he wasn't about to leave the Pack House alone so he couldn't be picky but the Kitchens had to have fruits, he'd make himself a fruit salad.
Now, all that remained was to find the Kitchens without bumping into too many people.
He made his way out the apartment, realising that this was the first time he was all alone ever since he came to Midnight Pack, he didn't mind it.
He could still remember where the dining room was and of course, it only made sense that the Kitchens would be nearby so he started for the dining room.
He made it down the hallway without bumping into anyone and if that wasn't a relief,
hopefully, the rest of the journey would be like this but he spoke too fast.
He rounded the corner and smacked into someone, he felt powerful arms wrap around him to stop him from falling over.
Jaxie looked up with apprehension, the last thing he needed just then was to bump into Chase, he doubted that the asshole would try anything, he would just rather avoid a confrontation.
His anxiety and concerns washed away when he saw Ethan instead, a relieved smile settling on his face.
"Hi, Ethan…" He chuckled nervously. "S-sorry, I wasn't looking at where I was going." He apologised, just noticing that Ethan was yet to let go of him, holding him a bit too tight for comfort.
"E-Ethan?" He called tentatively when a couple endless seconds passed and all Ethan did was stare at him with an indecipherable look in his eyes while holding him too tight.
