Jaxon woke up for the second time that morning but this time he found himself being carried by Darian and for a couple precious seconds, he couldn't wrap his head around what was going on.
He looked up to see Darian staring down at him.
"Hey, you good?"
Jaxon went on instant alert at this. "Wait, are you guys leaving me?" He panicked slightly.
Leon just scoffed. "Who's going to supervise us then?"
"That's not why we're taking you with us and if you can't sleep in my arms, you're going back to bed."
Jaxon's gasp of disbelief was loud. "What do you mean if I can't fall asleep in your arms? I'm practically falling asleep right now… I mean your arms are so comfortable…" he tried to butter him up.
Leon was beyond impressed by his acting, jealousy dancing in his eyes, he should have been the one holding Jaxon, why was he Head Warrior again?
Darian was unimpressed however, more concerned about Jaxon getting enough sleep because they barely let him have any the night before.
"You woke up because I picked you up…"
"It's not my fault my sense of self preservation kicked in…"
"You know what, we're going to be late." Darian cut in, stepping outside the open door of their apartment.
"Doesn't sound like a bad plan." Leon muttered, stepping out with them and shutting the door behind him.
"Let's go." Darian stated firmly, ignoring Leon's grumbling about wanting to cuddle sleepy Cherry and not wanting to work so early in the morning.
"Shut the fuck up Leo, no one cares…"
"I do." Jaxon perked up at this, Darian was carrying him bridal style through the hallways.
"No, you're supposed to be sleeping."
"How about I propose an alternative plan?" Leon spoke up again. "We get to the training site, I knock them all unconscious and we're done?"
Darian looked thoughtful at this. "I don't know man, that actually sounds like a really good idea-"
"What?" Jaxie raised his head up again. "No it's not..."
"Shh." Leon placed a finger to his lips. "Just sleep, don't worry, we can handle this."
"W-what?! How am I supposed to fall asleep after that?" Jaxon spluttered, genuinely concerned now. "I'll sleep after I'm sure that you both aren't about to start a Pack war…"
"Although we clearly know who's going to wi…"
"Leo!" Jaxon cut him off sharply, glancing around to see if anyone heard him.
They made their way out of the Pack House to see Joe waiting for them outside, he seemed surprised to see them although he had been the one to suggest waiting for them because the last thing he needed was getting on their bad side just because their boyfriend was too nice.
Joe's eyes widened as he saw them, he hadn't expected them to come out so early, he only just stepped out himself and that was because the Alpha had ordered them to get up early for their training to impress the guests.
"Hey." He managed to recover quickly, looking fastidiously away from Jaxon.
Darian just studied him calmly, he didn't seem surprised by Jaxon's presence or the implications of everything else, if anything, he just seemed startled by their presence and nothing else.
"The training ground is within walking distance." Joe started to say, straightening up from the wall he had been leaning on. "But we could take a car if you want?" He left his offer hang, sparing a quick glance at Jaxon who was just watching quietly from the confines of Darian's arms.
"We'll walk." Leon decided and they started off.
"Head Theo is already there waiting with some of the Warriors…"
"Some?" Leon interrupted, raising a brow.
Darian could hear the steel in Leon's voice, it was show time, there were multiple reasons why he could never replace Leon, not that he wanted to but even if he got stronger than him physically, Leon would still remain the Head Warrior, that was undisputed.
Joe just scratched his head nervously. "Some Warriors take their time coming for training."
"You don't say." He muttered to himself.
Jaxon actually felt sleepy, he might have wanted to stay awake but his exhausted body wasn't having it. Darian carrying him and walking was also lulling him to sleep.
He could hear voices as they got closer, the training grounds wasn't far from the Pack House, it was located a little ways into the forest sharing backyards with the Pack House.
He knew when they got to their destination because the voices fell quiet.
He could imagine the image they presented but that was beyond his concern, he just wanted to sleep.
He wished he could cuddle with the both of them but just Darian would have to do, he was too far away from Leon though.
He opened his eyes to see Darian staring down at him, he had been expecting that.
Maybe he should have stayed behind, there was no way Darian would pay attention to the training if he was there, leaving Leon to do all the work.
He snuck a peak at Leon, he was engrossed in a conversation with Theo. He was easily as tall as Theo, even if their build were a bit different.
Theo listened intently to whatever it was that Leon had to say while the rest watched them uneasily.
"Are you comfortable?" Darian brought back his attention.
He glanced up at him again, noting the worry lines of Darian's face, he could tell that the tall, brooding werewolf didn't appreciate that he was missing out on nap time.
"No-- I mean... yes," He cut himself off. "Just... I want you to hold me upright." he reached up his hands slightly.
Darian was surprised by this but did as was told without hesitation, putting Jaxon down on his feet briefly so that he could carry him the way he wanted, his hands supporting his thighs.
This earned them skeptical looks from some of the Warriors but Jaxie couldn't even see them, content now that his face was tucked in Darian's neck.
Leon leveled an icy gaze at the Warriors that had gotten distracted and they fixed their attention back on him ASAP.
While he gave them a quick rundown of what they would be doing for the session, Darian was scouting around for somewhere comfortable and within sights of Leon to settle down on so that Jaxon could be even more comfortable.
"We'll go on a quick run just so I can get a rough average of your speed, try and keep up yeah." Leon said calmly to them.
Theo just quietly stood beside him, observing.
Scoffs greeted Leon's words, most looking unimpressed.
Leon just barely stopped himself from rolling his eyes, these guys were insufferable, it made him actually appreciate his own Warriors.
