Jeremy was still thinking about the way that possibly could he get into the city, because now he had to remain cautious about his acts with respect to the last warning.
[I don't have ideas to help you. You have to think about it yourself, what do you intend to do.]
Axela stood there after refusing to help him while Jeremy began to wander on the cliff.
'There's possibly no way to get inside apart from that main gateway. But we can't simply walk in and say hello.'
Jeremy had analysed all the sides of the bubble as far as he could see and then stopped struggling.
"I think we have to just stay outside tonight to get eaten by the wild animals."
[I'm sure you will taste bad and animals will spit you out. Congratulations, you will survive successfully.]
"Duh!"
They both were quarrelling when a pair of eyes was watching over them, and soon Jeremy sensed a shadow on the ground.
"What the heck is that?"
Axela stepped back while Jeremy immediately looked upwards only to see a hawk hovering.
"Is it even a hawk?"
Jeremy could not figure out what exactly the beast was, it seemed a hawk face with an ox body fusion. He squinted due to the sunlight and tried to look again only to see the beast circling.
[Is that what you are thinking? RUN!]
Artemis saw Axela slowly stepping back in the attempt to create a distance to see clearly. Jeremy realized that he was supposed to run too but it was too late for him.
The hawk charged at him and in the attempt to snatch the dead bunny, the beast clutched Artemis in its front claws and soared back in the sky.
"No! Axela, help me!"
He shrieked with fear as soon as Artemis found himself in the claw of the beast. Axela dissipated on the ground and appeared in his head with a yell.
[Don't stay calm, move or bite it. Make it drop you right above the energy bubble.]
"Why the fuck right on the bubble?"
Jeremy shouted while the hawk circled over the bubble and chvirk.
"I will die if I get dropped from here. I don't even have a fucking parachute, okay!"
[You will die either way, duh! This beast is not taking you to serve you, it is better to die within the bubble. Who knows you might survive, though the chances are slim.]
"Fuck you!"
Jeremy glanced down and after finding the suitable place with a small building beneath him, he bit the hawk hard on the claw which made it drop Jeremy.
Artemis screamed and closed his eyes and cursed himself for joining the deadly games. Knowing that his death would be imminent due to the fall, he did not open his eyes.
[Hey, open your eyes, you might survive dummy. There is a house with a seemingly delicate glass roof right below you.]
Jeremy did not respond to her statement and fell within the house by crashing the glass.
"Owhh!"
With a loud thud he fell on the floor and hurt his shoulder, Jeremy opened his eyes only to find himself alive.
"I'm alive! I'm alive, haha!"
Artemis immediately sat and dusted off his uniform while shouted in happiness. He tried to call Axela who was waiting for him to grasp some senses after falling.
[I told you, you have luck.]
"But where am I now?"
Artemis looked around himself to see where he was now after dropping from the sky. Although one thing was sure that the animals could not penetrate, because the hawk was trying to break in; then how did he fall from the bubble?
The house was quite shabby and seemed a small hut with necessities filled in, although Artemis got up from the floor with the support of the table.
Right in front of him was the table with a marble slab. It had a fish laying dead on it Jeremy skimmed around after watching its wriggling.
But as soon as he turned his head he was welcomed by a messy looking man, he had an unpleasant appearance as if the man hadn't bathed for long.
Jeremy aka Artemis stepped back reflexively when his eyes fell over the axe in the man's hand. He was unnaturally big compared to Jeremy who was quite tall in his own world though.
"Er, hi!"
Artemis nervously chuckled while his eyes moved from the man's stern expressions towards the axe. And he silently prayed that he might not kill him, the man did not move an inch instead watched Jeremy taking steps backwards.
"I...I am sorry about that roof, sir."
He immediately apologised by pointing out towards the roof which was almost gone now by his crash landing. Jeremy haphazardly looked around for the exit while trying to summon Axela, who had vanished again.
"Trying to escape from me, uh?"
The man leaned in with his big face and bulky body which scared the hell out of Jeremy. He used to take backup during every investigation or usually Connor used to stay by his side.
But since his best friend turned out to be a betray - er Jeremy could not rely upon anyone now. He thought of using the system on his wrist and to summon a weapon, but the dangerous position of his made it impossible.
"N- no, no sir."
He tried to negotiate though he did not have money on him to offer in exchange of his life. The man sniffed Jeremy and shoved him away, but due to his inhuman strength Artemis flew through the air and bumped into the shelf.
The man thud his axe on the table which sliced the fish into two parts and it stopped wriggling. Whereas Artemis managed to make himself stand after putting his thoughts together, when his vision became clear the man was ascending towards him with an angry stare.
