Casper looked around and saw himself somewhere he had never been once before.
It was something very similar to a city center… But a city center you would expect from a futuristic movie that happened to be mixed with high-tech nordic culture.
Casper, still dumbfounded, walked a
some steps away from the point he got teleported and started to stroll around with no course at all.
What he needed to do was explore the territory and get away from the coordinates he was teleported to, before the Ridire could chase after him.
Huge buildings made of a thick wood structure with details in iron and steel, that was so big that it looked like it would touch the skies (or, better, the Castle's ceiling), were disposed here and there.
A lot of establishments were spread around. The ones that mostly took Casper's attention were the taverns filled with people drinking, singing war songs, and fighting with each other. It was like an animated and messy party inside there, and even Casper nearly got carried away by that atmosphere and entered in, but hold himself remembering the situation he was in now.
He passed through a sort of building without a ceiling and was also made of the same materials as the previous ones. He could peek inside there and saw that it was like a sort of coliseum, with a huge round place in the middle with numerous warriors clashing as if in a war, while some other people stayed on the bleachers cheering for them, and some even jumped there to participate.
Casper was terrified with such brutality but amazed as well, and he could understand completely those people who also entered the brawl.
Casper passed for areas for sport hunting, huge restaurants where people would eat together at a huge rectangular table while talking loudly, and even some places with artificial rivers for short navigation.
There were also a lot of establishments that were more likely to appear in idealized futuristic societies, but the fact that they all mixed crazily with the Nordic culture was something that made Casper find that world amazing, although until now he was complaining about it every time.
"What would happen if an old society could improve in technology through time without losing their essence even for the slightest? Well… I have the answer now…"
Casper saw that there was a board in a random place, with huge and golden letters, that was shining and blinking. There was written: Uppsala.
"So, the name of the city center is Uppsala? I think I remember it from somewhere… But, anyway, I skipped my history classes often so…"
Casper had barely finished his line of thought and then he heard someone yelling:
"According to the report the last teleport was around here! Go find that man!"
"Ok, time to work now, not to be amazed. I can get to this city again another time." Casper brushed it off and stopped to look at the brothel he was staring at some time ago.
He walked hastily at the streets. Although it was past midnight, a lot of people were still walking around there, so he kept hidden in the crowd.
"I need to find another Teleporting pad that I can use to go near the laboratory, but… where to go now?"
That city was very big and probably occupied a whole floor. Casper did not know where to search for a Teleporting pad. Besides, he had not time to go with trial and failure. He needed to do it as fast as he could do.
It was very dangerous to keep at an unknown territory for you, but very well-acknowledged for your enemy. The disadvantage of a situation like this was enormous.
Despite this, if that city was really so big as it seemed, a lot of other Ridire could be there as well. It would not be so impossible to find Casper.
The White warrior, still immersed in his thoughts and trying to sort out what to do next, kept walking among the people. He reached a crossing and stopped among the passers-by who were waiting for the motorcycles to stop, so they could keep going further.
As it seemed, there were not many cars in that world. People preferred motorcycles. Maybe it could have something to do with horses.
After a while, the vehicles finally stopped to move, and everyone started to cross to the other side.
That was when Casper looked to the side, and his eyes met with the eyes of a Ridire who was driving a motorcycle. It was a split-second moment. So much so that his brain only realized what happened after some time.
The same occurred with the Ridire, but soon he was activating some kind of cirene on his motorcycle and trying to chase after Casper.
"Maaan, you are kidding me! I've never seen them using vehicles before, so I forgot completely that it was a huge possibility!"
Casper thought in run away, but he knew he could not. Instead, he ran against the motorcycle and threw his baton on the head of the Ridire.
The impact was enough to make him fall from his motorcycle.
Without hesitation, Casper ran towards the vehicle and lifted it from the ground. It was very similar to a Harley from his world.
"What the hell? All this stuff and they could not make high-tech bikes!? Well… But I always have a weakness for Harleys anyway."
Casper got up on the Harley, testing engine roar. The sound pleased him and he smiled, remembering the time when he used one similar to that he was on now.
He found a way to deactivate the cirene and was ready to go, but he noticed that the noise was still there.
"Did I pushed the wrong button?" Casper thought, but then he could recognize that the noise was coming behind him.
Four flying vehicles that looked like boats appeared in a turn on the street with their lights lit up and the cirenes on. Two bikes were chasing after Casper along with them.
The citizens around started to move away from Casper, seeming afraid of what was happening.
Other motorcyclists around there turned to other streets or increased the speed to escape the confusion.
Casper accelerated the bike once he realized the threaten and drove at full speed.
He did not know how, but one of the Ridire also in a bike was almost catching up with him.
He tried to make the most unpredictable percusses, turning every time he could and then accelerating until the bike could not increase the speed anymore.
Even so, the Ridire were more experienced than him. They spent all their time driving those things, so it was no wonder that they were so much skilled.
One of them lined up with Casper, on his right, throwing his bike very close to his, trying to get him off balance.
Another one lined in the left and made more pressure on him.
"No, they aren't trying to knock me out off the bike, they are trying to make me stop moving." He looked to the rearview and saw that someone was positioned on the flying boats. He was wielding a gun with a long barrel and a crosshair very curious-looking. It was trying to stabilize on Casper.
"Something says to me that that thing is not lethal, but it will surely make me fall from here. As it looks, probably it is a tranquilizer dart or something.
Casper entered into action as long as he noticed what they were doing. He charged the leg hard, trying to not lose balance in the bike, then sent it flying towards the man on his right.
The kick landed on his waist and he fell from the bike. At that speed they were, it was like he fell into an ice rink since his body rolled and slipped good meters along the street before stopping. He probably hit his head on the ground several times, since he seemed to have passed out.
The other man did not have the time to think on his fallen comrade. Right after the attack, Casper threw his bike to the left in a sudden movement. Their bikes would surely clash with each other that way.
Frightened, the man went to the side avoiding the collision. His reflexes were good enough to do so. He had numerous fights as crazy as that.
However, Casper was aware of that as well. That man would never let him even touch his bike… But the White Warrior was a specialist in turn the advantages of his enemies into huge flaws.
Because of the exaggerated movement that the Ridire needed to do to avoid the attack, and because he was paying too much attention to Casper's next attack, he did not look in front of him.
The bike was way faster than the other vehicles transiting over there. Because of it, his motorcycle clashed against another, sending him flying forth and slamming his body on the ground, almost quicking.
Casper's mind was still operating at full speed.
He registered that the next turning to the left had a tunnel. It seemed to be an extensive one. The four flying vehicles would probably fly freely in there, but very close to the ground.
Casper went there increasing his speed even more. As he thought, two of the vehicles gave chase after him, and the other two decided to circle the tunnel.
Casper started then to drive in zigzag. The snipers could not aim at him perfectly.
At some point, the soldier got close enough to one of them. Without hesitation, he jumped inside it.
The driver and the sniper seemed to be surprised by that. They widened their eyes for a second.
Casper could not punch, but kick was a different matter. And so he did with the sniper. A powerful kick to the jaw made him get knocked out easily. With that huge weapon, it was difficult to fight back.
Casper let the driver alone for a second and grabbed the sniper that the Ridire was wielding, shooting with it towards the driver of the second vehicle.
The projectile seemed to have electric damage, because the body of that driver convulsed, then paralyzed all of a sudden.
The vehicle lost control and smashed against the structure of the tunnel.
Casper pointed the gun to the driver of the vehicle he was, with a cold look on his face.
The guy got the message and kept driving.
The end of the tunnel appeared, and floating there were the two other flying boats, waiting for Casper to appear.
"Hey, did you got him? I am not seeing the unit that was with you. Did they change directions? Hey…?"
From a communicator inside the vehicle, the other drivers tried to say something, but no response… And the vehicle increased the speed.
"H-Hey? Hey, what are you doing!? Hey!!"
"Get out now." Casper said through the communicator.
The Ridire from both units jumped off, without even trying to avoid the collision. It seemed that those things were not so fast to go up, down, or to the sides.
Casper also jumped from the boat somersaulting. The driver followed him.
The three ships crashed into each other and a huge explosion made the end of the tunnel collapse.
All the other drivers who were taking that tunnel stopped and looked terrified for the tragedy that happened.
Casper was already stealing the near bikes that the people left behind afraid of the collapse and then drove to the opposite side.
"Ok… And it was meant to be a stealth-action…" He ironically thought, accelerating.
