Adrian, Dustan and Whiz arrived in Egypt in record time. Whiz even pushed the aircraft to its limits that one or two warning signs suddenly flashed on the aircraft monitor. Whiz then handed both Adrian and Dustan earpieces for communication.
"What could have made a part of literal space become isolated?" Dustan asked Adrian to see if he knows anything.
"I do not know exactly as there are numerous things that could do that. It is similar to travelers getting lost for three days in a forest. It could only be dome using an artifact though. Different cultures call it things like artifact, agimat, anting-anting etc.
One thing is for sure, something that could temporarily bend the rules of the world is powerful. We should fear someone capable of actually using such an artifact because they are not normal." Adrian replied.
"So, it is the same as what happened when we were trapped. We must find the source of the barrier or the caster in order to cancel its effects. Any idea on what it will look like." Dustan asked as Adrian seemed like a supernatural expert.
"One thing I do know is that artifacts are created using natural elements formed in the world they can bend the rules. It could be metals, stones or even a piece of wood struck by lightning. Although that is what the witch doctors preach." Adrian replied.
"Did you personally ask a witch doctor that?" Dustan asked as he became curious how Adrian knows so much.
"Just watch videos online. I learned about it when I stumbled in a weird part of the internet. For normal people, those items would look normal, but I can see the energy emanating from the items even if it is just a video." Adrian stated as an excuse since he should be fairly new to this stuff.

The two of them reached the hotel that Jihan and Esme are currently staying at. The hotel looked normal from the outside, but Adrian knew that they are being watched. As soon as they landed, Adrian could feel gazes of multiple people.
He did not tell Dustan about what he found out using his mouth as he could just share the feeling of being watched to the latter. Dustan got surprised because Adrian suddenly touched him but even more shocked when images started to flood his mind.
The people watching the two did not think much of the shocked Dustan since Adrian did touch him suddenly. The two calmly checked in to the hotel and tried to act normal. They did not get rooms on the same floor that Jihan and Esme are staying.
It would look obvious that the two of them are accomplices of Jihan and Esme if they book a room specific to the floor where their comrades are. Fortunately for them, there are two spare rooms just below Jihan and Esme's floor. The two of them entered the elevator in a nonchalant face as they tried not to show too much emotion.
"The whole building is being watched." Adrian stated in a happy tone after Dustan turned off any voice recording devices present in the elevator.
Dustan did not disable the cameras as that would look very suspicious. Adrian spoke in a happy tone and smiling face to deceive those spying using the cameras. Dustan did so as well as the two acted like they could not bottle their excitement.
"What do we do? Can you detect the artifact?" Dustan said in a smiling face with a fist bump in the air.
"I am trying right now as we speak. I could not pinpoint it as it seems to envelope the whole floor above us." Adrian replied as he connected the fist bump with Dustan.
"Why do both of you have happy tones when saying some scary things?" Whiz asked via the earpiece.
"That is because they have numerous screens spying on us. As if they are now holding the whole hotel hostage. Can you do something about it? We will almost reach our floor soon. We need a diversion so that we can immediately get into action without being spotted." Dustan said with a beaming smile.
"I will then shut down all the cameras in the hotel as soon as you reach the floor." Whiz replied.
"You already hacked the hotel servers?" Adrian asked with a plastered smile on his face as if he and Dustan are in a conversation.
"When both of you entered, I already started the hacking. The earpieces are also some sort of mobile signal generator." Whiz replied with a confident tone.
"Can you wire like money from scammers into my bank account anonymously. You know…we can share the goods later." Adrian mischievously asked but Dustan glared at him.
"Why not focus on the task at hand and locate the artifact?" Dustan stated.
"Already done. We should head to the east wing of the floor above our stop. That is where I am feeling the most energy escaping." Adrian stated as the elevator finally stopped.
As soon as both of them stepped out of the elevator, the cameras inside the hotel building shut down. They both ran towards the stairs as upwards where no one is guarding. They are now racing towards the next floor that is heavily guarded by the organization that took over the hotel.
"Wait!" Dustan stated as he stopped Adrian from appearing on the hallway.
The guards at the corridor are situated at the outside of Jihan and Esme's room. The other hotel guests on the same floor seems to have been transferred to different rooms as they would have reported suspicious hooded individuals inside a hotel.
"Can you create a distraction?" Dustan asked Adrian.
"I can disorient them for a slight amount of time. The effectiveness should also be affected by our distance with them." Adrian replied.
"About three seconds should be enough for me to strike their necks with needles." Dustan stated as both of them prepared to rescue Jihan and Esme.
