The cold arrow didn't have a problem travelling through the cold air, as soon as the arrow left the bow. It hit it's target.
The gargoyle didn't see the arrow leave it's bow, the flash of blue before the arrow impaled it's last good eye was the last thing the gargoyle ever saw.
The gargoyle screamed in pain, it thrashed around madly, throwing blind punches. Jake set Levi down gently and with the will of everyone he slashed the gargoyle behind it's knees bringing it to it's knees.
He moved to the front of the gargoyle which was drained of every zeal to fight and plunged his sword deep in it's chest.
The gargoyle grunted as it's lifeless body fell to the floor. A pool of green blood slowly formed below the body of the gargoyle.
Jake stepped back to avoid stepping on the muck. At that moment Jake knew that something had changed inside him, he almost threw his face in disgust. He had not hesitated to kill the demon that had attacked his friends.
"Tony that was awesome" Jake breathed as he fell to his knees.
Anna immediately ran to his side to offer assistance, but before she could get there, he fell face first into the dirt.

They had run quite a distance when Kayla began tugging Percy's shirt.
"We have to go back" Kayla told him as they wove through the trees.
"Levi said I had to get you to safety and I'm going to do just that"
"But they might get killed" Kayla whimpered, almost at the verge of tears.
"So?" Percy almost shouted. What can we do. My fire doesn't work, and you have no combat skills whatsoever. Do you want to pointlessly add your death to theirs"
"But we still have to go" Kayla's eyes were now wet with tears. Percy knew she was right, but he just couldn't stand it.
He was useless without his fire and the least he could do for this mission was to save Kayla and his useless self.
When he didn't budge, Kayla turned and headed back the way they came.
"Damn it" Percy muttered, and followed her.

Percy saw a tent at the path where they had left the battle "why is there a tent" he asked, lowering his head to look at Kayla, but she was already running toward the tents.
"Damn, does this girl even scout before running into what might be danger, head on" he scoffed.
She had seen a part of Levi's head from the side if the tent wrapped in a white cloth, she quickly turned around the corner and came face to face with Anna at the front of the tent.
"Oh my… Anna are you okay??" she asked hugging Anna tightly and feeling her all over.
"Yes Kayla. Levi and Jake over there" she pointed over to where Jake lay "probably need more attention".
"Oh" Kayla clamped her hand over her mouth at the sight of Jake. She quickly went over to where each of them lay and squatted, she felt their foreheads and turned to Anna.
"You…" her voice trailed off
"Yes, I washed their cuts and bandaged them. I guess I'm not capable of more than that".
"Kayla smiled, trying to hold back the tears that threatened to come gushing out in a torrential downpour.
She stretched her hand to gesticulate. "Here" Tony said, handing her bag of medical supplies, before she could start her statement.
"Tony? You're alright"
"Yes" Tony said, without much enthusiasm seeing as Jake and Levi lay motionless on the floor. Kayla immediately opened her bag and got to work in them.
"Percy" Anna called as he stepped out of the side of the tent. They had almost forgotten Percy wasn't with them as all focus was on healing Levi and Jake.
They sat on the floor under the glowing brightness of the moon while staying close to the fire for warmth.
Percy had managed to gather some wood from the surrounding forest.
Lisa had made broth to facilitate their healing process but Levi and Jake still lay where they were, neither had stirred since the incident.
Lisa stirred the broth which was boiling in a small metal can over the fire.
They had completely run out if supplies, the broth was merely a condition made from little food stuffs they had left and some of the herbs Kayla carried in her pack.
Lisa scooped a few spoonful's into whatever was available and handed to Kayla, Tony and Anna.
Percy had refused to eat, claiming he had lost his appetite. He just couldn't bear to eat with the state which Jake and Levi were in.
Anna watched from the corner of her eye as Kayla made over to where Levi lay and squatted trying to feed him a spoonful of broth. When he didn't budge, she moved over to Jake and propped his head on her laps and put a spoon towards his mouth trying to get him to open his mouth, he didn't budge, just as she was about to withdraw the cup from under his nose, he sneezed violently.
"Jake??" Anna dropped the cup in her hand and was immediately beside him holding his shoulder up, everyone else had immediately gathered round, peering into Jake's eyes, trying to see if it was he that had sneezed.
"So many faces" Jake said groggily.
"J…Jake" Anna stuttered, grabbing g his head in her arms "you're awake" she tried her best to hold her emotions together. Kayla slightly hugged him, brimming with new hope.
"Hey bud, you up?" Percy said, punching Jake's shoulder as lightly as he could.
"Urrm… I hope so" Jake replied, blinking multiple times, to get the picture his eyes were projecting straight in his head.
Kayla got her pack of drugs and mixture of herbs. Anna moved away slightly for Kayla, so she could administer proper treatment. Kayla felt his head, it was slightly hot, she out a little cloth soaked in cold water over his head and fed him a few potions.
When she was done, she placed her hand on his shoulder "Jake I'm glad you are awake" she could barely get the words out as she had been totally bereft and heartbroken since she saw Jake and Levi in a coma.
"Me too. All thanks to you" he replied, laying his hand on hers and sending an appreciative wink her way.
"Anna can you take over, so I can check on Levi"
"Sure"
"Make sure he eats something". Anna nodded and returned back to where she sat beside Jake
