Almathea was not good at interpersonal relationships, thus, it was a little difficult for her to read another person's emotions, or to tell what it is they were thinking. This was something, Almathea had noticed, Evy was good at. This was why, if they were to interact with other people, Evy was the one who was going to do all the interacting.
However, she felt that it wasn't right for her to get used to relying on Evy. What if there was a time that Evy was not around. What would she do then? Thus, it was easier for her to take the bull by the horns earlier in time.
Still, this was easier said than done. She cleared her throat twice, before looking up at Maria. "Does this mean that we should be thankful for the fact that you are willing to take us in as your adopted children?"
