"Listen Matt, I am not the sort of girl with whom you'd hook up for a few weeks and move on. If I am with you, I want to get attached to you in every way, be it physically or mentally or emotionally. I have started to feel I might have made a wrong decision now. I am not blaming you at all. It's just a part of me that is concerned about my well being in the utmost manner. I wish to analyze things in all manners and thereby make an informed decision. I feel I might have made this decision of staying with you in a rush.
I need some time for myself" said Martha as she began to move fast and leave behind Matthew who was trying his best to assure there's nothing for her to worry about.
She turned behind to face Matthew and said before leaving, "Let's meet tomorrow at the Sunday fest and speak about it. I need some time to spend with myself"
"What if you don't come tomorrow?" he asked
Everything is fine Matt.
There's not a thing you shall feel worried about. Only that I sometimes like the company of my own self and at this time I need it the most.
There's nothing that can keep me away from you for long enough. See you tomorrow"
"See you tomorrow. Love you babe."
Martha posed a wide and bright smile before leaving and said, "I love you too" She turned around to proceed when Matthew said
, "I love you to the moon and back" This made Martha giggle as she could sense somewhere that his Matt didn't want her to leave so easily so she responded, "I love you to the brightest star and back"
"Wait, doesn't that make our love too vast?" said a confused Matthew. "Shut up and accept your defeat.
Accept that you cannot come up with a better way to express the love" said Martha, expecting no reply at all, but this time Matthew said something that made her burst out laughing. He said, "I love you to the black hole and back"
"Well Mr. Romantic, haven't you ever heard that whatever comes into the contact of the black hole is swallowed into it and there's no way to escape? So that means your love will never reach me"
"So you did understand the hidden meaning of my statement. I have desperately wanted to tell you that I have been fed up with you from the past hour so that we have spent time together.
So I hoped you would fathom the depth of my statement and you did. I can't love you anymore so I thought it better to shower my love on the black hole"
"As much as you have fallen in love with me, so you have lost the wit in your jokes. Don't worry, tomorrow I will help you crack some good jokes and regain your wit."
This made Matthew smile with a little embarrassment. Martha had already proceeded to walk away from her and was now standing few meters away from him
"I gotta go now. Bye" said Martha
"Bye. And I lo…" said Matthew when Martha cut him in between "I know idiot. You don't have to say it every time. I can feel it among us."
Matthew again responded with a warm smile.
Martha steps proceeded and the distance between them grew more and more. But in reality, the love between the two had deepened so much that no distance could keep them from loving each other.
He awaited tomorrow to come. So did Martha.
She returned to home almost after one hour of the supposed time of her return. Entering the doorway, she first saw her mother awaiting her daughter's return.
Coming face to face with each other, her mother inquired, "Honey! Where have you been all this time? You were supposed to be at home by 2."
"Sorry mom. I forgot to tell you I would be coming late today. I had planned to stop at Victoria's home to discuss some ideas on what dish we can prepare for the Sunday fest tomorrow.
I didn't really realize how time passed by so quickly. Sorry mommy." "Oh I would have believed you a thousand times if it wasn't Victoria's home only that I visited an hour ago to inquire about you.
Let us not go into details about your whereabouts. Whoever he is, make sure you tell him not to delay so much after school. I mean, you must not compromise with your studies over your boyfriend or whatever you want to call it" said her mother with a little hint of smile on her lips. On the other hand, Martha's face had become so red with embarrassment that it became difficult to discern between a cherry and her face.
She quickly rushed to her room saying she wanted to freshen up. "Oh of course you should freshen up. Also, I have prepared your favorite lasagna which I think would suffice to feed the butterflies in your stomach." Hearing this, Martha had to fasten up her pace and she quickly dashed into her room.
She shut the door behind her and fell on the bed in a way that her face was now staring at the ceiling.
She ran her hand across her stomach and giggled to herself, "Butterflies!"
Martha's father arrived almost half an hour later than Martha did.
The three of them sat together for lunch which wasn't their usual course of routine.
Usually, Martha along with her mother would take lunch in the noon and after some time, her father would arrive and have lunch. Today, things were happening in a different way. The three of them began to have lunch together.
After partaking some lasagna from the serving bowl, her father said, "It has been a while the three of us had taken the lunch together. What brought the change today?" "Martha arrived late from school.
You too were going to arrive after sometime so I thought it better that we all have lunch together" replied her mother. "Hmm" said his father, not really seeming to be interested in having a conversation and rather seemed to be concerned about something since he didn't inquire why she got late.
After spending around 2 hours studying, Martha got up to practice some dance moves. She awaited the Sunday fest that was going to happen tomorrow.
She had never taken part in a duet dance before since she didn't have a dance partner all this while. But this time, she did.
She picked up her pillow and began to perform the moves while pretending that the pillow was a man who had asked her for a dance.
Not just any man but Matthew. Back and forth, swinging around, gently holding on to the pillow, Martha seemed to be lost in her own world where the world meant nothing but Matthew.
She wanted this day to pass at a rapid pace and wished the sun to shine bright again soon. "I wish I hadn't gone to meet him post school.
In that way, he'd have come to meet me in the dark and we could've done those things under the glittering light of moon" she wondered to herself. "I wish so" She lay down on her bed and held the pillow close to his heart as if she was hugging Matt.
"I am missing you my darling" she spoke to the pillow. "Now I want you to be with me in every moment of my life.
I am sorry for saying I am confused whether it is a good choice to be with you. It is by far the best choice I made" and buried her face into the pillow.
She tried to simulate the touch of Matthew by caressing herself wherever Matthew had touched her.
She ran her hands across her thighs and butt and while squeezing her own butt, she started blushing and her heart began to pound at a faster rate.
She then moved her hand to her neck and massaged it the way Matthew had done at the time of kissing her madly.
It was time for dinner and Cindy, Martha's mother, called out her name and asked her to have dinner.
She took a seat when her parents had already begun with the dinner. Everything was quieter than usual.
Earlier Martha had sensed that her father was lost somewhere in thoughts. But now even her mother seemed to carry an attitude not very different from that of her father.
Both of them were pondering over something. It even felt to her that the reason for their mental absence was the same. "Is everything alright?" she finally asked as she partook some French beans in her plate from the serving bowl. "Everything is fine dear. What made you think that?" said her mother, realizing that she sensed the blank face of the two of them.
"I thought you two are concerned about something" said Martha. "No Sweety. Everything is fine. Just some small issue with business" clarified her father.
Martha's father was a well-established trader in the whole village.
He was also a member of the village committee that looked after the maintenance and well-being of the village.
He was among the few people in the town who owned a motor car that could carry four people to a destination at once.
Post dinner, all of them went to their respective rooms. Martha hugged the same pillow she'd been dancing with in the evening pretending it to be Matthew. She hugged the pillow even tighter and dozed off to sleep.
