{ The Present Day -- Suburban area, New Jersey, United States.}
Jack is still at the bar that Keith drove him to. He has also just finally met Nitte.
Right now, Nitte holds Jack's hand like they are kindergarteners going to the bathroom together. Jack walks with her to the back of the building.
Jack wonders if Keith will come out and find them. But Jack also kind of doesn't want Keith to find them because he thinks Keith is not exactly a good person to hang out with.
"OK. I think we are alone now. What do you want to do?" Jack shakes her hand off.
"Can I start by telling you a secret?"
"Sure."
"I made the attack happen."
"What attack?"
"When you were going to Flushing to the hostage situation, there was a uniform officer that was beaten by a random guy with a baseball bat. Do you remember that?"
"Yeah, I remember."
Nitte leans in close to Jack's right ear, one hand on his left chest, she whispers, "I made that random guy attack the uniform cop."
Jack backs away from her body, "Why did you do that?"
Nitte laughs, "I'm so glad you asked 'why' and not 'how.' So you believe I can do it. Good. Good."
Jack rolls his eyes, "You already told me you can shapeshift, why would I be questioning how you can do it. You obviously can do a bunch of supernatural things. I am pretty sure you controlled that guy's mind and made him attack my colleague."
Nitte then takes another step towards Jack, she smiles at him.
Nitte whispers again, "I really like that you caught the baseball bat by hand. Even though you're just a common, regular guy, I think that's fricking sexy you can do that. You like to do things with your hands, huh?"
Jack frowns, "You haven't answered my answer. Why did you make that guy do that to an officer? Then I basically twisted an innocent man's arm because of you."
"Because it's fun."
Jack shakes his head, "Anything else?"
"I've got a couple of things to take care of tomorrow. But I don't have a place to stay. Can I crash at your place?"
"I'm sure you have a place to stay. You apparently hang out around here a lot, don't you?"
"Yeah, but I always sleep with someone around here."
Jack finally blushes a little. He can sense that she is trying very hard to get to him.
"Then you go find a person to stay overnight with."
"I found you. I am going to stay with you tonight."
Jack isn't sure if it's rude to turn her down. But this girl seems to just say things out of fun.
"I don't want you to stay with me." Jack lifts her hand off his chest.
"I didn't know you're a goody-good boy." Nitte puts another hand on him.
"I am super goody-good."
Nitte laughs when she hears that. She laughs so hard, it's like she is out of breath.
"Good, at least that gets your hands off me." Jack laughs, too.
"You forget one thing. I can control mind."
Jack suddenly starts to worry, "No. Don't you do that to me."
"I will if you don't let me go home with you."
"What do you want to achieve by going home with me? My apartment is a mess. Trash everywhere. Probably cockroaches and mouse running around."
"I can help you with those."
Jack smiles, "Ha! You can clean my apartment? Then you should've told me earlier. Yes, please, come back with me. I welcome you."
"Good."
"But, I didn't drive here. Keith drove me here."
"I can drive you back. I've got transportation."
Nitte then gestures Jack to follow her. They look at the cars and motorcycles parked in front of the bar. Nitte walks over to one motorcycle.
"Hop on. You have to tell me where to go."
"This is yours?"
"So, you live in Manhattan?" Nitte ignores Jack's question and asks for direction.
"Well, head that way but I don't live in Manhattan."
"No problem, just tell me directions in my ear. Guide me to your place. And you should hold on tight to me. I ride this thing hard and fast."
Jack thinks everything she says sounds very ... sexually charged.
They ride back to where Jack lives, which is not far from where Bob lives. Jack thinks he might actually try to sleep at Bob's apartment tonight and let Nitte sleep in his apartment alone.
But that's also stupid, because why would he let a stranger in his home alone? Jack shakes his head. He will try to play it by ear.
Nitte follows him upstairs. After he unlocks his apartment door, he suddenly comes to his senses that maybe he shouldn't have agreed to take her home. He was joking that Nitte can clean his apartment. Now that they are alone in his apartment, he's not sure that joke is that funny now.
Nitte immediately tries to kiss him. She is quite forceful. She is tall enough to press Jack to the wall.
Jack pushes her off. He knows she is not doing this because she is attracted to him. She seems to just want to test his limit. This is definitely a ploy. And he will not be played.
Oh, and not to mention, she smells like cigarettes. Ugh.
"I'm sorry, Nitte. I can't do this with you."
"You have a girlfriend?"
"I don't. I don't need a girlfriend. I don't need a romantic relationship."
"Why? What happened?"
Jack laughs, and he walks away and into the kitchen. He can't believe all of a sudden Nitte is trying to talk to him about this.
"Why don't you tell me more about the mysteries you want me to help you solve."
"I want to know why you don't want a romantic relationship."
"Because I'm OK just being by myself. You are so weird. Don't ask me question like this."
"Were you hurt by some girl in the past?" Nitte now looks to be very interested in knowing his love life. It is as if she thinks she's a Cupid and she needs to set him up with a girl.
"Thank you for trying, Nitte. But I really, really, really don't think that's important to me right now."
"Wow, you look sad right now. Don't lie and say this is not important to you. You must have been hurt."
Jack knows he has probably unintentionally shown a sad face, so he tries to force a smile.
"Awww, Jack. You don't ever have to smile for me. If you feel sad, just feel sad. Remember that sadness. Because that's going to help you when I teach you how to do some supernatural things." Nitte's eyes look straight at him, full of curiosity for him.
Jack thinks maybe there is a different side of her, and she's not just crazy and does things out of personal pleasure. Maybe she can be an OK person. He's not sure. But if he is to spend more time with her, he needs to ask one thing:
"Would you quit smoking? I don't want to preach, but smoking is super nasty. If you're going to teach me things or ask me to help you, I don't want to get near you and smell that cigarette odor."
"It was only for tonight. I honestly don't smoke! I had to pretend to smoke for my job, to let some men's guard down. Kind of annoying, because I hate it, too."
Jack believes her. Because after looking at her teeth closely, he can tell her teeth is not stained by cigarette.
"I guess I can't judge you by your smell," Jack laughs.
"I will not smell like cigarette every day, don't worry about it." Nitte then smiles, "Why? You would kiss me if I don't smell like that? Because I can blow your mind."
