Ella followed Yden. However, she didn't have any idea where Yden could be hiding. She just met her days ago, and she didn't know much about her yet. She didn't even know the place she used to stay if don't have classes. The truth is none of them knew her class schedule nor her course.
Anyway, her first subject professor was absent, and she got some free time. She didn't mind roaming around the campus to find Yden and spend a little time talking with her. If there was one thing that made her University life exciting and full of life was meeting a group of friends.
She finds it perfect the way they are. They may be totally different in characters and attitudes, but they connect with each other by accepting their differences.
She was aware that their group needed balance, and it didn't bother her if it is her to handle that balance. She would love it even, she was scared of the life of studying in the City, and she felt lucky enough to have such friends.
She still loves the friendship she found with these girls. But, even Dane doesn't like it that much. He may have agreed for Ella to join the sorority, but when she told him about everything they did together the initiations. Dane suddenly knitted his brow towards his friends.
He felt that they are a bad influence. In fact, he suddenly changed his mind about wanting Ella to join the sorority. However, Ella's mind was already fixed on finding herself more comfortable staying in the University.
She knew, too, that if she couldn't get into the sorority, there would be a big tendency that she might not finish her University course.
Ella was not even a regular employee of the manufacturing industry that she's working in presently. So, if ever the company will be controlling their production, there's always that possibility that she might be asked for a forced leave, without work that would also mean that she won't have enough money to pay for her tuition fee as well as a place to stay near the city. The province where she came from was ten times as far as the staff house. If ever, something like that will happen, then finishing University will simply remain to be a dream - an unreachable dream.
Ella had been in the canteen, in the library, or even in the mini-park. She actually doubted if Eden would even think to go there since that part of the school was only nice to see during day classes when the sun tries its best to get through between the leaves just to kiss the soil.
Ella can also imagine the sparks of the leaves against the sun as the leaves are too busy dancing with the silent whispers of the wind.
Ella imagined, yes, that's what she only can afford to imagine. Since never in her life in that University did she see the mini-park during day time. All her classes are at night, and she even was usually late in attending her first class. The last glimmer of sun she could see every day, which she began to see the sky painted with orange, was usually her time in the bus as she rode her way to the campus.
But, Ella smiled with the thought as she went back to the building and away from the mini-park. With her last glance to the big trees and flowery bushes, she muttered to herself. "Don't worry Ella you will soon gonna see with both eyes everything that you just imagined in this park during the daytime. During the day that you won't be going home to the staff house anymore. The day that you will be staying in the sorority house, and will choose a daytime class. You will have that all Ella, and you will get your diploma without working hard during the daytime and just focus yourself on your study."
"Why are you so worried about finishing your studies when you will have too much time for that?" A males voice uttered from behind Ella and startled her. His voice sounds familiar, but she can't quite pinpoint if she actually knew where that voice came from.
She abruptly looked back and saw Adam, and he was sitting on one of the benches with her one leg above the other, forming a number four in his feet. At the same time, he was leaning on it while his two fingers were rubbing against his chin.
"Why are you so fond of startling people? This is the second time you have done that to me," Ella scoffed. The blowing out of the air from her heart helped her to relax as well.
"And why are you pretending that I am fond of starting people? Does it mean if I had been doing that too, I had also been doing that to others? Oh, it doesn't seem right to prejudge people, you know." Adam raised his eyebrows and twitched his lips with a smirk.
"So you…" Ella shook her head with a sigh as she moved forward. Since she had decided to go back to the building a while ago, she believed that she didn't need to converse more with Adam and just leave him.
However, Adam stood up to follow her, and he seemed pretty determined to talk or even banter with her. "So you? What does that mean?"
Ella felt there'd no use for her to walk out since Adam was already there, trying to follow her.
"You always answer my question by another question? Didn't you notice that even in our first conversation, you always did that to me? And you know what? I don't know what brought you here since this place was dark…" Ella wasn't able to finish her words when Adam interrupted with his answer.
"Yes, you're right; it's too dark and maybe too dangerous for a girl to be walking here. And, that's maybe why I am here to accompany you."
Ella looked at Adam in agape. She didn't understand why Adam had to say that or had to do that to her, but she didn't understand more about how her heart reacted to what Adam said.
She couldn't deny it but her heart skipped a bit. As he moved closer to her she could even smell his perfume, a musky scent of wood and cinnamon.
She was staring at Adam in a daze and got suddenly interrupted by the sound of her cellphone ringtone.
She abruptly took the phone out and looked over the message.
