Chapter 26 - Entry of The Great Deitiness

But the beast was more or less like the hybrid of lion and tiger. A liger. Nope. A ligress.

Impossible. Is she in the novel world? Just what exactly is going on.

"Aelin, are you alright?" Devmaya asked in a concerned voice.

As for Aelin, who just was feeling like, how on the Earth is she still alive? How on the Earth is she still breathing normally? How on the Earth, her soul didn't leave her body, yet? Couldn't help but stare at the beast turned human, girl.

Damn, she actually hugged this person, for the whole night. Damnit!!! Just what exactly is going on. This very person told her, she will protect her yesternight.

Aelin didn't respond. Or to be precise, she didn't have words to respond back to this beast-turned-girl. For god's sake, they aren't in the fantasy world. She isn't reading a book.

Then, how? Why? When? What exactly is going on?

Oh Lord, please. Don't play with my poor life. Please spare me. I want to go home.

Devmaya, saw her condition getting more and more serious, each and every passing moment. And couldn't help but reach towards Aelin, in order to pick her in her arms and to take her back to the Barrage.

But the moment, she took a step forward in Aelin's direction. Aelin, who still was lying on the ground, retreated one step back, too.

Devmaya noticed this too. And couldn't help but raise her brow. Just what on the earth did she do now?

~~

She didn't get much time to either think or respond as the entire place was suddenly filled with a white beam of light. The signal of the arrival of The Great Dietiness.

After all, the halo was there to not just protect and help her. But it was also there, to let him know. If anything happens. Or if she needs someone's help. Or to be precise his help.

And Devmaya, took a few steps back, to maintain the respectful distance between her and Aelin, then kneel down on one knee, in the form of greeting.

~~

As Devmaya knows very well. About Prithvi and Aelin. So, she just took her ranked position. While Aelin, who was feeling like she was already on the verge of exploding out, couldn't help but stare at the girl, in the kneeling position.

D-Don't tell me, she fears a mere human like me? Right? It's impossible. But, if she doesn't, then why on the earth is she kneeling and staring down on the ground?

Aelin felt like her entire world was being turned upside down completely.

"Alpha Devmaya Serene, greets The Great Dietiness, with health, wealth, and happiness," Devmaya said. Although at the moment she added her surname, she clenched her fists tightly.

But, as if it matters, to begin with.  As expected, the person didn't even spare a glance at her. As his eyes were fixed on the terrified little bunny.

Fine. Although, he couldn't completely co-relate about what she might be feeling at present. But, he could tell that she must have been scared shitless, which she was.

After all, for humans, even the existence of wings was a big deal, to say nothing about shape-shifters. Also known as Half human, half beast.

So, he just went next to her, scooped the fully lost bunny in his strong arms, only then did who realize that he was there, and without any thinking or anything, she just buried herself fully, in his embrace.

Her arms, holding his neck tightly, while her head was resting on his chest. As for him, a small smile appeared on his face. After seeing her being dependent on him.

Although, it was because of her memory deficiencies. But anyways, somehow she was clinging onto him. And he was already more than happy, at this outcome of events.

~~

It was Vayu and Agni, who allowed the already worried to death, Devmaya, to arise back at her place. Although, they didn't bother to explain or say anything. As they disappeared the moment after Prithvi and Aelin left.

Leaving the dazed, worried sick ligress behind. After what seems like an eternity, she comes back to her senses and runs back to the barrage, in the hope to see Aelin there.

But bad luck for her since only Celaena was there, not Aelin.  As for Aelin, Prithvi took her back to that special place of theirs, that branch, and that sunset view.

[I know, most of you must have a question. It just became a day there, and they were already enjoying the sunset view.

But, I would like to enlighten the readers, by informing them that… they are not earthlings. Even on Earth, at one point a day happens while on another night. Plus, It's Earth that revolves, not the Sun.

And since, they stay in Heaven. Then at heavens, there is a place, where it remains dawn all the time, a place where it remains twilight all the time,  a place to enjoy the starry sky, a place to enjoy the warm sun, a place to enjoy the scorching sun, with cool waves and all.

Only Earthlings have to face the revolution and rotation of Earth. Not the Heaveners. Besides, they can be anywhere, anytime, with a blink of an eye of theirs.]

So, they were already at the place, which gave him peace.

~~

Even her chaotic heart got relaxed too. Although just a little bit.

"Tell me, what is it?" She finally asked. Damn, she will become crazy at this rate. For god sake, she was just an 18 years old girl.

"For that, you have to listen carefully. Will you?" He asked back. After all, last time she slept off when he was busy trying to explain it to her.

She pulled herself away from his chest, then stared at his serious eyes and nodded.

"You are not human anymore." He explained, which landed like a bomb in her system.

W-What does he mean, she isn't a human? She stared at her hands, her arms, her legs and then touched her face which she still hasn't looked at, to know how she exactly looked. And then stare back at him.

If she isn't a human, then why does she look like one?

He could sense the chaos she felt. So, he decided to enlighten her a little.
