Chapter 23 - An explosion, Deities not believing the reality

How could she harm someone else? Especially when the person is deadly worried about her.

"T-That's not what I meant." Devmaya tried to explain.

Aelin saw both sides, trying to curry favors from her. One is genuine, another just acting genuine.

"And I believe in you." Aelin replied, staring at Devmaya, who kept on blinking. It wasn't just her. But Prithvi knows how to mask his expression well. And act like a cold, arrogant, aloof, deity.

While Celeana's jaw almost touched the ground. Damn it. This girl did she… just... ignore her words. Impossible. Was she seriously Aelin?

Because if it had been Aelin, then she would have definitely got irked up and burnt the entire place, in the fit of her rage. But, all that she has to say is 'I believe in you.' And that too, to Devmaya, not her. [ Remember, Reincarnator phoenixes are made up of fire. Making them short-tempered, hot-headed beings. So, expecting her to explode out every now and then is indeed normal. But the human Aelin is too soft to acquire the trait of reincarnator phoenix.

Guys, do you think it's the time when Fire phoenix will attain the Water element, which will end her life, in return?  Do, let me know in the comment section. ]

Can someone tell her, just what on the Ocean is happening here?

"Aelin. Are you saying that I am wrong? Are you saying that It's my fault to be concerned about you? Are you saying that I am trying to drive a wedge between both of you? What exactly do you mean?" Celeana, who couldn't hold up her anger, asked, with a wronged pitiful look.

The look that Aelin Westfall can never withstand. The look, because of which she got spoiled thoroughly by this Phoenix.

Aelin just glanced at her and couldn't help but cringe her brows and nose, at Celeana's fake sincerity. She can't tolerate fakeness around her anymore. So, she added, "It's good that you know. Now, please leave us alone. Miss."

Well, Aelin has learned one thing till now. She can actually order these fellows around. Although it's a little new for her. But, at least somewhere she is in control.

She not only can control her fear and emotions and encourage herself to be strong, but she can order others around, while controlling them, too.

After all, this deity standing a little far away, is a live example of her experiment.

[ Remember when she asked him for the explanation part.]

~~

Now, this was a BOMB!!! Which exploded not just the ears of the listener, but made them completely undergo a shutdown.

Damn, is she seriously Lady Aelin Westfall? She can't be, right?  How could that hot-headed lady act this cool? This was simply savage.

Prithvi, who till now was doubting her existence and memory loss, was now assured. That, no matter whatsoever the reason would be, The Great Lady Aelin Westfall, would never ever hurt Celaena Cortland for anything.

No matter what. Not even for her guilt or crime. And a small smile escaped his lips. She has always been like this. If she likes someone, then she will stick till the end to that, be it right or wrong.

But, if she dislikes something or someone, then she doesn't even spare another glance at that thing or person. And currently, Goddess Celaena Cortland was on its receiving end.

Celaena could feel something was amiss, too. So, she couldn't help but act innocent and pitiful in front of Prithvi, in order to earn his favor.

But, as if Prithvi didn't see, nope, he doesn't even acknowledge the presence of the Water Goddess, turning a blind eye to Celaena's pitiful face. At the end of the day, left with no choice, she has to leave the room.

Prithvi, who wanted to say something complimentary or flattering or anything in Aelin's praise, was the next one to earn the same order, " Mister, I said I want to stay alone with her. Then, would you please?"

And Devmaya, who thought she had lived long enough to see anything surprising to eyes, couldn't help but feel like, her poor, innocent eyes would bulge out of their socket at the moment.

This Phoenix is ordering The Great Deitiness to get lost from her room, in his Space. What a joke? If it hadn't been for the fact that she herself was present in the room, to witness this scene then, she definitely wouldn't have believed it, if anyone has ever told her.

Heavens!!!!  This scene can't happen even in one's imaginations. Yet, here this Phoenix, who was so eager to become the sacrificial lamb, actually spat those words out.

If she had been human, then she would have even puked three liters of blood at the sight. Fine, Aelin is fearless. But for god sake, the person next to her can't be offended, no matter what.

~~

As for the Deity in concern. He just gave a blank glance to Aelin. The glance, which was devoid of everything. Then nodded and just like that, he left the room.

Devmaya had no idea what just happened. Just what did this mean?! No word. No glare. No warning. No punishment. Nothing.

~~

Once Aelin and Devmaya were the only people left in the room. Then Aelin offered Devmaya a seat, who took it politely. Fine. Devmaya was in great shock. This Phoenix actually ordered The Great Dietiness.

What's more, The Great Deitiness, rather than Questioning or killing her for her stupidity, actually left. He leaves just like that. Holy Spring.

Is it a dream? But, it's only humans who can daydream. The Ligers don't carry that ability. Then!!!

" Umm… Are you okay?" Aelin asked, after seeing her acting like a mannequin.

" Hmmm? Who? Me? Is anything wrong? Nope? Was I just daydreaming? Aelin did you just… umm... I mean, you just order him. Aren't- Aren't you worried or afraid about him?

Or yourself? I mean, you just offended the most powerful, strong yet dangerous, cold, ruthless, merciless deity of this Universe. The Great Dietiness. And that too head-strongly, face-to-face. You have never done that before. Never. Ever. Are you really alright?" Devmaya asked.

And Aelin, who hadn't even started learning how to crawl, to say nothing about walking and running, in the field of defense, confidence, and self-respect, felt like her entire world was crumbling down.

Damn it!!! The way this lady explained it to her. He definitely doesn't seem like an easy-going fellow. Plus, she has seen his dangerous side, too. But, in the heat of the moment, she made him leave, too.

Is he really a dangerous fellow? Wasn't Ashoka enough in her life? Wasn't Grandfather Kim enough for her? Then why on Earth did she have to meet another dangerous guy on this Earth.
