Chereads / Tale of a Phoenix / Chapter 6 - Phoenix's tales

Chapter 6 - Phoenix's tales

And… history repeats itself.. Again.

"Uwagh!!!"

She screamed on the top of her lungs.

Luckily, she didn't faint this time. Just her eyes were fixed on Nature. in the same way..  children's eyes were fixed on darkness and the ghosts in it.

The Great Dietiness, who was expecting her to yell at him because he came in her barrier without her permission and definitely against her orders, couldn't help but stare at the little creature, then at Nature. His lips twitched. 'Can anyone tell me, what's wrong here?' He asked to noone in particular.

[And I, as an author wish, I could tell him. But Nah!!! :)]

"What are you?" Aelin asked still with utmost fear and horror lacing in her raspy, hoarse voice. Well given what happened, when you woke up after a month. And all that you could do was scream out loudly.

Nature felt like she had just been stabbed with billions of knives, all over. 'What kind of question is this!!! What do you mean by, what I am, in the first place! Can't you see, I am the ever so cute and lovely Nature. The Earthlings call and treat me as their mother; Mother Nature. Oh! Humans are the exception as always. Sigh! They just call me mother, but don't treat me as one.'

'But still, I am the most lovable, most adorable, highly cute, creature in the entire existence of This Universe.'

'Then why are you staring at me, as if I had murdered you and crushed your eyes bare handedly.' Nature thought. But didn't dare to raise its thoughts out loud.

After all, it's not good to piss off this Lady, at any or all cost. Because the Great Dietiness might take in concern about Earthlings. But this devil in angel's disguise won't!

"I am Nature." Nevermind, nature introduced itself. Disregarding everything. After all, the Phoenix Goddess was 800 years old. It still has been the legendary record, that this is the first time.

The first time, when The Great Nature has been summoned to treat the Phoenix Goddess.

Aelin just stared at Nature. The more she stared, the more nature looked scary to her. What's more is the fact that this green creature looked quite strange.

Once she found Nature to be above her tolerance level, she retracted her eyes back to the Handsome stranger.

"Ahem... Ahem... Excuse me, Sir. Am I dead?" She finally asked the question which was poking her the most, after taking almost half of a day to gather her courage.

Both the creatures [The Great Dietiness & Nature] stood rooted to their spots, Nature's body showing a series of shocked expressions.

Well, when humans get shocked, they show it with their faces or behavior. But Nature showed it with its  body. Within the blink of an eye, Nature's body becomes lavish green as summer, then  in the next blink, nature's body blooms with flowers and fruits as spring, then all the leaves wilted out  as in winter in another blink, then all become wet and lifeless like in the rainy season in the last wink. [ Like the effect of the season on the flora; plants.]

The Great Dietiness, who thought there was nothing that could shock him in this entire universe, stared at the lying creature on the cloud. She... She called him...  Sir!!!

Damn it… over the hundreds of years of their existence, she called him… Sir.

Not Hey!!! Or Mister!!!!  Damn it!!!! When did this girl learn to respect others in the first place? And how come he didn't know about that!

Damn it!!! Was she seriously injured? To the point that she lost her senses!!! Despite being surprisingly happy, because she called him 'Sir', his expressionless face and the cold aura remained the same.

After all, who knew what this phoenix was upto this time. Last time,  when she smiled brightly at him, that was when she had annihilated the two highly developed and densely populated countries of the Hellish realm, leading to the decline in 3% of the average population of the Hell.

Well, at that time, he thought she smiled at him. But in actuality, she smiled at the chaos and at the trouble she brought for him to solve, while she enjoyed it like watching a 3-hour movie in the theatre like humans.

Though, she didn't have popcorn to enjoy more, to the utmost disappointment of her.

And it took two weeks of constant negotiations, and one month of 'Operation : Kill the rebellion heads' , to maintain the peace treaty of The Union.

He had to kill hundreds of demonic heads, who wanted to avenge their near and dear ones, by harming her, which was quite natural.

And he, left with no choice, in order to protect her, beheaded them.

This time, this little creature is actually respecting her, at least in words, which definitely was a progress. But still, he carried that expressionless face, while hiding all the flashbacks of the past.

Well, Nature was shocked because of the sentence 'Am I dead?' by the Phoenix Goddess.

How could a dead person talk in the first place!!! They are not earthlings. Heavens!!! They are already souls. If they die, then not even a speck of their remains will be left behind, to say nothing about speaking.

And how could a high IQ and EQ'd person, like Lady Aelin, ask something so illogical!!!  If she is dead, then how could her 6 senses, 7 orifices, 9 chakras still work accurately?

The Great Dietiness recovered from all the states of emotions this little devil had forced him through. And then he was back to normal.

"Yes, you are alive." He replied back, while trying to be as gentle as possible, which definitely is no more than next to 'impossible' for him.

Aelin was still weak, injured and scared. Scared from Nature.

"By the way, Who are you, Sir?" She asked politely, still in the problematic voice of her, with confusion laced in it.

'Just what in heaven does she mean?' He asked in his mind, again to no one in particular.  Firstly she respected him and now insults him. Is this it?!

This girl seriously loves to challenge his limits, doesn't she?!

Be it picking up a fight against him, either intentionally or unintentionally. Acting like a spoiled princess in his place. Ordering his people around. Mistreating, humiliating, beating, insulting, torturing, pranking, hurting all the slaves at his place; her  favourite part time.

That's why all the people around him were terrified of her like a plague. She thought he didn't know, but it's just that he turned a blind eye to her matters.

What's more, she had tried thousands of ways to kill him, insult him, tarnish his image, create scenes and messes for him to solve, ruin the happiness on happy occasions and everything. But still... she at the very least acknowledged him, his identity, his presence.

But... this time. "..."

" You… You don't know me." He asked back, for the first time, in the voice which crepts directly from the doors of hell, itself.

The air in the barrier became so damn suffocating, intimidating , dangerous and difficult that Aelin even forgot to breathe.
