After everyone left mom and dad went to bed then Elyon, aunt Ellen and I went out to the backyard. Then I asked a few questions.
"Aunt Ellen Elyon's dad said I can only have one mark at a time or it would kill me. But the truth is we marked each other three days ago. It was only a temporary mark so we could communicate with each other without anyone knowing. Is that why I passed out when I did?"
"Elyon you did this for dream sex didn't you?"
"I'm sorry she was stressed so I wanted to make her feel better."
"No it was fine. It actually helped us. We found the dark mark because you loved her enough to help her with her stress levels. Her wolf was only strong enough to warn her because of your mark. She is royal just like you so she is stronger than a normal wolf. That is something the Prince did not know. He just thought she was an Alpha's daughter. Why do you think he worked so hard to get his family here before she changed. You to didn't mess up. You are lucky that Elyon found you first. The Prince set it up to where you could have died. I never would have known you survived the attack in the first place if Elyon hadn't started looking into the massacre. Now what other questions do you have, we don't have much time before the moon rises."
"Once I change will I be able to talk to you? I mean you will be a wolf to right. I'm a bit scared about the whole changing part of all this. What do I have to do?"
"Okay so we have to change on the night of the full moon. That's just the way it is for all wolves. Tonight will be your first shift it's like a rite of passage or coming of age thing we all go through. The day a wolf turns eighteen they shift and in normal circumstances find their mates. The only reason Elyon learned about you when you were two was because of the trauma to you. Basically your wolf called out to her mate for help and that's why Elyon started searching. Otherwise he would have started searching tonight when you shifted. I can and will shift with you. And yes I will be able to speak with you. There will be two different paths. The first is the family link. And the second is the pack link. You will have a completely different link with Elyon. That is known as the mate link. You will learn to tell the difference between the links as you use them more. Any other questions?"
I feel a slight tingling all over. Is that the change starting?"
"Yes that's the beginning signs of the change. Now Elyon might I suggest you wait in the front yard. The first shift is difficult."
"Okay I will do that."
He kisses me and heads to the front yard.
Once he leaves aunt Ellen tells me to strip. She strips as well. The I feel the pain. I swear all of my bones are breaking. Everything is popping and snapping. I drop down to my knees. Then the next time I open my eyes I am looking at my paws. I also notice my feet are white. I look at my aunt and she is white as well.
Then I call out to her and ask," Now what? And why are we white?"
"We are white because we are of a royal bloodline. Now you run, if you want to. Can Elyon run with me?"
"Of course he can. Try calling out to him."
So I call out to Elyon. I tell him to come check me out. When I don't get an answer I figure I'm doing it wrong, but I second later I see him coming to me. He is smiling at me as he walks up and pets me.
I start almost purring for him. Then aunt Ellen comes over and rubs against him. Finally I ask him to run with us. We run all over the back yard. We play tag and play in the water and then aunt Ellen has us go back to the house. She pushes Elyon off toward the front of the house and she talks me through changing back. Since it goes easier than the first change it was better. After I get dressed I call Elyon back to me. Once he comes over to me he kisses me. Then Aunt Ellen comes over and asks if I have any questions. I tell her no but if I think of anything I will call. She is okay with that then she leaves.
After a few minutes Elyon and I go inside. We sit down on the couch and talk about the day. After an hour Elyon kisses me good night and goes home.
