Chapter 11 - A Reason

Kouki was still asleep, that is until Loreley kept poking his cheek with her finger. The sunlight came through the window and the warmth could be felt at the tip of Koukis fingers.

"You'll be late for school if you don't hurry up Master."

"Why didn't you wake me up sooner!"

Before he could continue to panic and hurry to get dressed Loreley answered his question.

"Because of her."

She said as she pointed to the short blonde girl that was sitting at the table a few feet away. It was Adiel.

"Adiel...what is she doing here?"

He wondered why Adiel was here, and at this time.

(How did she know where I live anyway...)

Loreley stood up from bed and faced me as Adiel was still sitting behind her.

"It seems she ended up remembering everything, at first she had doubted what I showed her yesterday but then it was made more clear for her."

Adiel stood up and hid behind Loreley as she still had a glare at Kouki.

"Why are you with this guy big sis?"

"W-wha! Big sis?? You're sisters?"

Kouki was surprised by the remark.

"No silly, we just got along pretty well back in the day. Since she was the only child I was the one that hung out with her a lot, she has thought me as her big sister ever since."

"I see. Hey Adiel, why do you hate me so much?"

He has been wondering about that ever since they first met. She always seems to glare at him.

"I just want to get rid of one of the world's future problems."

Kouki looked confused and wondered what she meant by that.

"It wasn't long since the 'Forgotten' began appearing in our world. Some were at random, other were summoned here and so on. Though, the majority of those individuals became a menace to the world. Thinking this world as a mere playground they cause disaster and wreck kingdoms. Violence all over the place, the strongest one so far, Yang, joined up with a nefarious group. Sure, not all of the Forgotten end up turning up evil, some live peacefully in the Kingdom and help out. We have yet to see your side reveal itself. A lot of people are wary of these people. You are no exception. Your lucky enough the Kingdom had not tried to eliminate you on the spot, especially after they realized you were not the hero they were seeking."

"I never...thought it that way. Though no need to worry I bare no ill will to this world."

He tried to reassure Adiel.

"Hmph, we can't be to sure."

Loreley but in to support Kouki.

"Adiel, you have my word I know for a fact Kouki is nice. Why do you think im sticking with him?"

"...fine i'll believe you big sis. BUT, do not get comfortable Forgotten, i'll still keep an eye on you."

"My name is Kouki..."

Both Kouki and Adiel were running late for their class so they were rushing to get there.

"You know Loreley, it gets hard to carry you in my hand the whole day."

Adiel overheard and barked back at the remark

"How dare you call a lady heavy!"

"That isn't what I meant."

"Sigh, Master you could've just said so sooner. I can de-materialize and vanish while still being able to interact with you. I'll do so now, you can just call me forth again to make the spear appear again."

"That's much better thank you."

Arriving at the Academy they hurried to the classroom like their life depended on it. It's as if these two were having a race to see who would get there first. They burst into the classroom and the students along with the professor turned to face the door. With all the gazes they got embarrassed noticing how they just both came in together. Kouki knew this would cause speculation on their relationship so Adiel managed a 'Hmph!" as she walked to her seat first. Then Kouki followed along as he sat as well.

"Well, it's nice for the both of you to finally join us. Let us continue now."

Kouki was surprised he didn't question why we were late but instead just continued on with the class.

"I decided to not continue the battle tests from yesterday. We're going to have to learn self control. Since it was quite noticeable how you couldn't properly manage the distribution of your magic. Soon, there will be a class against class tournament. The winners will get to take more advanced classes and get their graduation reduced by a month. Which means you'll be graduating sooner than the rest of the school."

Commotions spread through the classroom, excitement and joy arose.

(That sounds really cool doesn't it Loreley, once we graduate i'll have more time for quest hunting.)

(Yes master that sounds lovely. But we should really focus on what's important.)

(Right...Atelia. I'll have to train a lot. I can't face her as I am now.)

Before class could continue the door to the class burst open. The one that was standing there was Matax the Lizardman from the student council.

"Excuse me for the interruption professor. I need to speak with Adiel and Kouki Tachi, urgently as a matter of the student council."

"Oh, yes that would be fine. You heard him you two hurry and go along."

(What's this all about I wonder.)

They got out of their seats and headed down to meet with the big buff lizard. They closed the door behind them and walked as they followed Matax.

"What's this all about?"

Adiel was the first to ask.

"You weren't notified, well, the both of you as to what's going on for being late to school today. So I came to bring you two myself as we decided have a meeting today, to discuss something important. You know Adiel, as you are the leader of the student coucil it would be wise to show a bit of role modeling for the rest of us and not be late to the Academy grounds."

"I was busy with something, apologies on my behalf but you don't have to rub it in."

"Very well, now then follow me. Everyone is waiting."
