"Why exactly are you going out of your way to train me?"
Kouki had asked Adiel as he was wondering what the case was.
Kouki was already tired of the amount of dodging he has done to avoid Adiel's spells. He was about to call it quits.
"Well, first of all the tournament is coming up. As you are now you're not gonna cut it even with the help of thy beloved you're holding in your hands right now. Second, you really need to learn how to fight properly. Loreley won't always be there to help you."
(She's right master, you've got to keep the grind.)
"Well, if that's the case I appreciate you taking the time to train me."
"Hmph it's not like im doing this for your sake entirely. But...you're welcome." Kouki could immediately tell by that way of acting that she was a tsundere.
"In any case, I guess that should be a wrap for today. We skipped out on class today just to train but it's really no big deal." Adiel gave a slight smile as she continued.
"Hey Adiel, would you like to go eat somewhere? I'm still unfamiliar with this whole place and I wanted to see if I could talk to you more while also getting a bite to eat."
(Don't tell me you're attracted to her Kouki...)
(No! That's not it! Plus she looks like a child, who the hell do you take me for...)
Adiel faced him, a blank stare that soon turned into a 'did you just ask me that?'
"I haven't eaten yet so...I guess that's fine. I assume you don't know any places around here that sell good food so I'll lead the way."
"That sounds great, thanks."
(Oh master why her...)
Adiel lead the way as Kouki followed with Loreley in hand.

"Wow...you eat a lot."
On the other side of the wooden table Adiel who was thought to be divine and elegant was munching on an abundance of food.
"A strong person like me has got to eat a lot Kouki."
He turned to look at Loreley who was also eating a whole lot. It was safe for her to be out as people in the current age don't really know her appearance from long ago. Only a select few. So here in the tavern it was safe for her to be out and eating with the rest of the two.
"I always wondered Adiel, why are you considered the strongest?"
"Well, ive beaten a lot of strong foes before. But that's not really the case. I have a large amount of mana flowing within me. I'm the daughter of the two strongest Gods that existed back then. But...I guess you know what happened back then. With that I have more magic power than anyone else in the world, well, self acclaimed but nonetheless no one has disproven it."
"Because they can't I assume."
"Yes, you can say that."
"I don't know much about you either Loreley, you're shrouded in mystery." Kouki mentioned as he took a quick bite out of his food.
"'I'm...not as strong as Adiel per se. But, I did hail from the best water related gods out there. The spear you're wielding, Lazarus, is actually my father's. I just didn't want to mention it till since there really wasn't any point. The armor you saw during the flashback was made by my mother. I still have it but...I can only wear it when I release my true power. Still not recovered so its a bummer."
Both of of them soon turned to face Kouki.
"What about you Kouki? We don't know anything about you, how was your old world like?"
Adiel seemed like she was interested in knowing. Loreley also looked at him with anticipation.
He was silent for a moment but soon answered their curious looks.
"I...was a nobody where I came from. I was just a normal guy living in the world. Nothing special. The world I come from is known as Earth. There Isnt any magic or so called mana like there is here. It's really simple. Not to great of a place to be honest. When I was brought here I was both excited and scared. But I was glad I finally got a chance to change this dull life of mine. I wanted to thank both Loreley and you Adiel. I want to try and live the best way possible I can as well as help the two of you take down these deceptive siblings left."
"That's too bad...didnt have to get all depressed you know haha."
Loreley seemed to understand a bit as they both got silent for a moment and then continued to eat.
Kouki asked Adiel about something he was worried about.
"Does Atelia realize that you have regained your true memories?"
She held on on eating her food this time.
"I don't think so. I'll keep it that way though as I can have it as an advantage. Not even the other remaining angels know but it still makes me uncomfortable heading back to the Sancturary."
Loreley quickly turned to look at her surprised.
"The Sancturary still holds? I thought it was destroyed."
"Well, it was but it was soon rebuilt much better than it was before. As well as the almost extinct angel race it was repopulated."
Loreley seemed to have let out a sigh of relief.
"Adiel since you seemed not really eager to back, would you be willing to stay at my place? I do have an extra rooms you know. It's too spacious for me."
Loreley suddenly spit out her drink.
"W-w-what?! Who in the right mind would stay with you STUPID."
Kouki laughed at the remark knowing what exactly this was.
"I guess your child like appearance is beginning to show even though you are quite old haha."
"Who are you calling old! I am no child either hmph. Tsk, fine if Loreley is also fine with it i'll be staying."
Both turned to look at Loreley who had her face down on the table.
"Oh master why, sigh it's fine she can stay."
"That settles it then, welcome to my home!"
Kouki smiled as she looked at Adiel who could only keep eating even now.

"It's ready Nyssa."
"That's good to hear, good job Sazud. Everything is set up on my end perfectly as well. We strike on the day of the tournament in a few days. Get everyone else ready."
"Of course, we will not fail."
The moon shone brightly. Tonight is probably the last peaceful night this world will ever see.
