Chapter 5 - 4: Stalked by night time.

Orva always hated the night times, it was the hour when she experienced things she could not explain to anyone, not even herself. Donald thinks it was sweet and punishable to let her go home so late at night when no life is roaming the streets, what kind of sick retarded man was Donald Nigel to let a young lady out by herself. While Orva walked down the cold streets and muttered words to herself she first thanked God for the extra keys in her hand and the knowledge of climbing windows, just the second lifesaver she learned a few years living with Mindy after she got careless with everything.

Deep into her thought the sudden bark of a dog got her so shaken up it almost made her lose some balance 'its nothing to worry about-- it's just a dog and you've done this most times so why get anxious?' Orva keeps talking herself out of fearing anything in the quiet streets. She strongly held to faith nothing was going to happen

It wasn't the first night she'd passed these streets but it felt more unsafe, tense, and edging. The more she told herself all was well the more anxious she got, every now and then she would snap her head back to find nothing following her, this continued for thirty minutes straight without finding anything suspicious, and it wasn't enough to put the young lady at peace.

If she died tonight no one will miss or remember she ever existed. How could Donald be so inconsiderate and cruel to make only her among other eight staff close 11:59 pm, and being a female should have made him more compassionate but he wasn't that person to care. He would not even let her spend the night in the restaurant without making a fuss.

"Be positive Orva, nothing's going to happen to you, your-" She screamed halfway through her pep talk and immediately attack the person that touched her shoulder. Kicking the tall person in the crotch and using her bag as a weapon to disable her attacker, Orva so overpowered the person and kept fighting.

"Wa… wa… ait… wait... it's me Orva!" A familiar voice tried calling for Orva's attention before she knocked him out. Orva didn't listen and continued hitting, kicking, and punching the person without hearing what her attacker was saying.

"Orva it's me Gabby! Jeez!" The person screamed louder in pain and Orva instantly froze, her mind started to clear from all the adrenaline flowing through her body. For the first time, she listened to what the person said even when her ears were ringing.

Orva was in shock and blinked rapidly to clear her hazy mind. Groaning heavily on the floor was a  severely beaten Gabby. His hands clutched his manhood desperately, showing how badly he was beaten by the girl. Orva wasn't expecting to attack anyone and never expected he would be there at this late hour stalking her, but she blamed him for his injuries.

"I am sorry Gabby, I didn't know it was you." She apologized and went to help him up, holding his upper arm to lift him up and her other hand on his waist to pull on his pants which didn't work out because Gabby was too heavy to lift by herself, even using her whole weight and strength didn't help a bit. She could barely lift him up without losing her balance.

"Hold on." Gabby groaned out.

"At least try to help yourself up, you are too heavy and I can't lift you. What do you even eat that makes you this heavy?" Orva grinds her teeth together.

"Nothing much, crap! Orva you really beat the shit out of me I am surprised I am even alive." Gabby said and referred to the multiple bruises covering his face, hands, below and the others.

"I am really sorry Gabby, I did not mean to attack you." Orva felt guilty for attacking Gabby, he was so nice and sweet to her except he was a shameless pervert with a guttered mind.

"It's okay, I forgive you." Gabby told her calmly.

"Really?" Orva asked.

"Yes." He smiled genuinely at her and then the bubble burst.

"What were you thinking! Stalking me in the middle of the night? Are you crazy!" Orva sparked.

"Ovi, it's late you gotta keep it low we don't want to attract unnecessary attention." Gabby warns her gently.

"I know but you tell me why you were following me?" She crossed her arms together with her head cocked to the side.

"I wanted to call you but you looked so scared so I decided to approach you carefully and-"

"Scare the hell out of me? I get it. I hope it makes you happy then." She threw back at him.

"Come on Ovi I never meant to scare you, don't take it like that."

"Then tell me." She demands.

"I wanted to make sure you got home safe." Gabby explains but it didn't reach her ears clearly.

"I don't believe that."

She was confused why this night? It wasn't the first time she went home late and Gabby leaves the restaurant by seven and has never offered or followed her home. Orva smelt something fishy going on with the attendant.

"I swear on it Ovi." He insisted she believed him but she was finding it difficult to, and with her trust issues Gabby will be a suspect. "I had no weird sinister motive."

Orva couldn't predict or know if he was saying the truth. Never did she have a reason to trust anyone aside from herself, even close friends don't seem to be trusted anymore. "You deserved it after all." She shrugged and left him.

"What! Why?" Gabby complained and rose to his feet. He slowly limped in her direction to keep up with her speed.

"Shut up Gabby and stop behaving like a girl, I need to leave now, it's past midnight." Orva scolds him but took it as a chance to use him as her escort home without having to feel disturbed she was being followed, Orva hoped Gabby will refuse to leave and follow her home which she got.

"Then I am coming with you." Came Gabby's instant reply. Orva smiled secretly but masked her happiness.

"Oh really, why?" She tries to challenge.

"It's not safe for a girl to walk alone by this time." Gabby tells her.

"And you're just noticing that today after nine years of working together?"

Gabby shrugged but held his shoulder when pain shot right up, he wasn't ready to argue or give excuses as long as she did not have a reason to attack him again. "It shows I care."

"You care? What if something had happened to me back then?"

"But you are fine isn't it?"

"Whatever let's go." Orva snapped and hooked her hands underneath his elbows as they made their way to her hidden home in the mist of the fancy structures of Beverly hills.
