waking up was a bit weird for Asd, for some reason he felt really disjointed, like he was having an out of body experience. But seeing as this was something he has never experienced before, he couldn't exactly be sure how to describe an out of body experience. But never the less he was waking up, and he felt slow, if not a bit heavy. When he opened his eyes he was suspended in the air in a pool of water with Professor Hogrin, Professor Germaine and a middle aged man with a platinum blond white hair slicked back to perfection and dressed in an exquisite suit. He was sporting a goatee that gave Asd the chills, for some reason that beard felt weird to him.
"What's going on? Asd asked as he looked at all three men, moving his gaze from one to the other.
"I believe you just completed a summoning ritual Asd, and the results were…. unique to say the least. The dean and the academy's faculty would very much like to know the process and steps you took for it. Especially since we never made materials available, except for study materials. Would you tell us how you went about it?" Germaine asked as his elfin ears twitched in response to something.
Asd hated these people in front of him…. And now that he could finally put a face to the bloody dean of the Monroe magic academy, he had a face that he could direct his ire to. They hadn't been fair to him, but in a way Asd couldn't help hut blame himself. did he think that just because he was set free from slavery that all of his problems were over and that other people would treat him better? To these people who could slaughter dozens of werepeople in order to cover up the transgressions of a spoilt child, he would probably always remain a slave.
"I don't remember." Asd said with a defiant attitude, but it was only with a little deeper thinking that he realized that he really didn't remember. His eyes widened in horror and shock at what was not essentially a big blank in his memory, but an obvious fact of not ever knowing or attempting anything, the feeling was weird, obviously Asd knew he had completed a summoning, but for some reason knowledge of the process was completely lost, it was just as if the summoned wisp just came into being.
"We can't force you to talk Asd, but believe me when I tell you that telling us would be in your best interest." Professor Hogrin said as he dropped his stout arm, releasing the pool of water that held Asd aloft.
"I'm serious! I don't know how or why, but I really can't seem to remember how I carried out this summoning ritual. It's as if I never even knew, I can't explain but it's like that knowledge was erased and in such a way that it's not as if I'm missing memories, but as if I never even thought of it or came in contact with it in the first place."
Asd wasn't scared of them, and in all honesty he didn't feel as if he had to bend to the whims. Even if he never forgot about the ritual, he would never have told them about it either. He has had enough time to realized that he had some value to then academy, but whatever ego and superiority they had would never let them see him as anything but a slave. To them he was just a dog that they were training, but it didn't matter. He was still a free person, and the worst they could do was send him out of the academy with the small knowledge he has learnt.
"it seems you have come in contact with the Will of Magic. You have touched upon or rather seen a fundamental aspect of the magic that dealt with summoning. Magic itself has deemed that information too powerful and too valuable to be left in the hands of a common slave! Your place is with the dirt beneath the feet of your betters. If it wasn't for the fact that you're being watched over by someone, you w0ould have been out of my academy the very day you stepped foot in it. Hogrin, Germaine, let us be gone from this place, the longer I spend here the more soiled my aura becomes."
They vanished, it was almost as if they were never there in the first place. It was at this point that Asd realized that maybe there really wasn't a future for him in this academy. It didn't matter that they had locked him tight, he needed to leave. Believing in the words that was coming out of their mouth was all kinds of wrong, they couldn't be so sure that there was no one out there that wanted him. If he was so damn important to them, then it stood to reason that someone else will value him. If all roads are closed off to him he would join the military as a foot soldier, and if that doesn't work out, then the western Albion empire was not the place for him, not to mention this was the beastmen continent, there were places that has not been explored and secrets about magic to be uncovered.
Besides the world was a whole lot bigger, he just had to be ready for an extremely long journey across lands and terrains he has never seen or heard of before. Regardless of what his next step may be, he needed to get out of this fucking academy, and he would do that as soon as he became a 1st circle mage. He has gotten two spells down, there were just five more to go.
"Those guys are really rude you know; Earth knows I would love to bash them really hard!"
Asd was once again caught off guard as he turned around looking for the voice. But there was no one else around, it left Asd on guard as he features began to change, shifting into his partial transformation.
"Whoa! Take it easy master, I'm currently attached to you Mana interface. It was the only place I could hide so that they couldn't see me or sense me." As soon as the voice finished speaking there was a small spark of electricity from the back of his neck. It wasn't a visual spark, but more like he felt it. In no time there was a tear drop shaped wisp in front of him. It was a deep shade of gold at the bottom that seemed to deepen in an earth like brown.
"Hello I'm an earth elemental wisp, you are my master and you must give me a name! and... I'm sure there are some thing I have to tell you, but you have to name me first." Asd raised an eyebrow as he ended his transformation, it didn't seem as if he was in danger of any sort, b8ut he had to be sure of what he was dealing with.
"Why must I give you a name? don't you already have one?" he asked as he took a few steps back to create a bit of distance between himself and the wisp, except every time he moved back the wisp moved forwards.
"Before the summoning ritual I didn't exist, you gave me life. Ummm…...you're like my father, or my mother…...I'm not sure which. But definitely a parent, and it's all parent's duty to name their children so you have to name me- "
"Gaia! Your name is Gaia. Now tell me what's going on."
Asd was young, but he wasn't one to posture or waste time on explanations to obvious things. She wanted a name, and so he gave her one, there was no need to jump around the matter because he felt a connection to her. And no one felt connections more than werepeople, except maybe vampires, but those blood sucking leeches don't count.
"Gaia! I love my name!" the wisp seemed to grow brighter as she floated around Asd, laughing in a cheerful tone.
"It's a one of a kind name for the only summon you will ever have, awesome master." Asd paused and looked up nat the Wisp in horror, he moved close trying to grab her but his hand seemed to pass through her form as she giggled in delight.,
"What do you mean you're the only summon I will ever have?"
"Oh! You did something no one is ever supposed to be able to do. It should be impossible to have any elemental of any sort at the 0 circle. Even the eggs of magical beasts start at the first circle. You have upset the balance of magic and nature by giving me life, so the summons of the earth elements or any other elements would be forever closed to you and your descendants till the end of time. All you have is me! Isn't that great!"
No it wasn't, this wasn't great, this was a nightmare!
