Chapter 20 - A Pirate's Life For Me

Asd reeled back in shock at the explanation this summon; his summon was giving to him. Due to his over enthusiastic experimentation, something that for the life of him he could no longer remember he did, he has ended up crippling himself for all eternity, and that feeling was definitely not a good one. he sat back down on the cold wet floor, his eyes blank as the wisp floated above his head. the wisp had no features, but given the way she was silent one would think she was equally in a pensive mood as well as her master.

"You must be devastated…. But don't worry there is a bright side to this all. You can never summon another earth summon, but you can still use Earth magic and to exiting effects too. Any spell you learn I can use, heck from now on you don't need to learn the spells yourself, as long as I study it, then you would also know it, though we can only do this for earth spells seeing as I'm just an earth element summon. But there's more! The things that I can do is so much more than what I have just told you."

Asd looked up at the wisp, admittedly his mood seemed to have seen an improvement after the explanation he has just been given. What Gaia; the earth element wisp had just told him sounded like an amazing tradeoff to losing the ability to summon for all eternity, even to the point that such an avenue was closed off to his descendants as well. But the idea of being able to learn and master magic without having to actively study the spell formula himself was quite amazing, even though it seems it would only be catered to earth spells, it was still an amazing improvement.

"I can change forms, you have not paid attention to the information on the Mana interface, but if you do you will realize that my Race is not just an Earth Element Wisp, I'm also a changeling. In exchange for you and your bloodline losing the ability to summon at all, you all will be born with a wisp of varying element that would be able to have three forms in every Circles. A base Form, A battle Form, and a Travel form. The wisp would be able to interchangeably shit and change between the forms, I think this came as a result of you being a Werelion.

It is strange even to me that I hold all this knowledge, but I was born from magic itself, the most prime source of the universes earth elements and given a piece of your soul and flesh. This is something that has never been done or will ever be done, a pioneer of magic for a race that was never really inclined to it in the first place, so while you were punished and bound, the rewards for the crazy venture you undertook was just so much more, and it is one you will share with the rest of your bloodline. Magic rewards risks and innovative ingenuity, its why there are as many spells today as stars in the sky.

And one more thing before I forget, to get the forms I need for each circle I would need to ingest either blood, body, or mana cores of the beasts you would want me to have its form. It would be grueling work as I feel we might need more than one try for certain creatures, but once for others depending on their strength, magic, rarity and bloodline. Now with all said and done master, what task do you have for me now?" Gaia asked as it floated over to Asd, getting a little too close for comfort to the Werelion who grunted and pointed in the direction where books and spell books were piled high for study.

There was way too much of an advantage having this wisp than the disadvantage of losing the ability to summon. So even if he was kissing good bye to all those mighty dragons and titans, he could still train his wisp diligently enough that it/he/she whatever the fuck it is, would have a form that would send terror into the hearts of many and excitement into his own. The applications were endless, Gaia was his key away from this place, but he needed a way to obscure his gains from the academy, to give them a controlled stat page from his Mana interface so as to have a few cards to himself.

"Can you alter My Mana Interface?" Asd suddenly asked, causing the humming wisp to pause as she went through books without having the physical capability to move them.

"only to a limited factor, you don't have enough magic in you for me to be able to fully control your Mana Interface. Plus, your interface is like another living being, there would be no way for me to control it at this stage unless it's one of the forms I would have to consume in my o circle form, it could be my battle form I guess, but it might possibly fail as I might need to consume more than one…. What?"

The wisp suddenly asked as Asd had a rather peculiar look on his face. The Werelion had gone through a bit of forced education growing up, he was originally going to be a butler to Timothy when he or his sister finally took over the noble house of Ramses. Unfortunately, even at the threats of getting whipped for stepping out of his place and learning knowledge completely and totally unsuited for a slave; Asd ended up being the sharpest tool in the box and loads smarter and educated than the son of a noble house. He was quiet but it was now time to put some of what he has learnt so far to the test.

"Don't do it now, I'm sure they will notice if something goes wrong with the interface even if it's for a second. What we can only do now is train and grow stronger and lessen their suspicion of me. At the moment I have all of their eyes on me and it would be better to keep a small profile, in the meantime I think we should learn as much as we can."

"why?" Gaia asked, curiosity heavily laden in its voice. Asd turned to looked at the Wisp as his gaze shifted to the spot where he had once drawn a summoning circle, that knowledge forever lost to him for all eternity and answered.

"Because we need to leave this place soon, and to do that we need to take what we can and try our utmost best to give nothing back."

"That sounds so wrong, like some sort of thief or a pirate!" Gaia said to him with a voice that was decidedly too excited for what it was complaining about.

"Well then drink up me Hearties Yo-Ho…. a Pirate's Life for me!"
