Chapter 59 - What If

"I don't expect your trust. We just met this afternoon."

Elihim coldly said.

"Even so... it's just hard to believe. I mean, your body is eight, sure, but you're more mature than me."

"Is there anyone that's not more mature than you?"

Hresha reasoned but it only backfired.

"I want to sleep, we'll pick up the speed."

Elihim finally recovered enough to carry both him and Hresha. This time, Hresha only reacted to the elevation but no longer resisted and just enjoyed the flight.

"Are you perhaps a reincarnated person?"

Hresha randomly guessed but she hit the mark. However, Elihim didn't react much. Actually, if she continued guessing and haven't stepped onto that topic, that would be more unbelievable.

"No?"

Since Elihim didn't react, she thought that it was not it.

"Are you some sort of divine child- wait, no, that's impossible. Are you some sort of child that's been possessed by a demon?"

"If that's true then a demon is the one who's currently speaking to you. Would I still say that I'm just eight?"

"No..."

Hresha kept guessing and guessing and even to some far-fetched explanations such as some powerful and mysterious Imagis created him or that, he's some sort of incarnation that he created himself.

"No, but that sounds interesting..."

"There are theories about creating memories and consciousness but we are too far from that. As for the incarnation... that's just my imagination."

Elihim had already thought about creating another living being. However, just as Hresha said, even he was a bit far from that. If he was at the point where he can fix his own body then that's when he can talk about creating another lifeform.

As for a physical incarnation... Elihim didn't rule such a situation. Since there are more worlds than just one, then it wouldn't be surprising to imagine that there are more dimensions where the rules of physics are different or that concepts are just manifested there as reality. For example, the concept of death or justice. What kind of being is an incarnation of such concepts. For all the time that he lived, including the past lives, Elihim had yet to grasp that kind of being.

Eventually, they reached where the Emeralkan campsite is located. Of course, Elihim didn't bring him and Hresha directly above it but just nearby.

Upon landing, Elihim spoke before turning in another direction.

"That's it for tonight."

"Wait...!"

When Hresha saw Elihim turned around, she stopped him. Elihim stopped and looked at her.

"Umm... can't you say what I need to do first so that I can ready myself?"

"No, even though it didn't take that much time, you experienced a lot of things. You should rest."

"A-are you worried about me?"

Hresha asked with anticipation but Elihim just stared at her with a passive 'are you stupid?' look.

"Ah... haha... just kidding. Then... goodnight."

Elihim nodded and walked away. Hresha turned around and slowly walked away too. However, uneasiness was building up within her. She couldn't help but turn her head around and see that Elihim was already a bit far away.

Sensing a non-existent danger, Hresha began running towards Elihim.

"Wait!"

Elihim turned around and didn't speak but she can easily read his eyes that coldly says 'what do you want?'

"I... is it really safe?"

"About what?"

"The Death Dweller. They've entered my mind once just earlier, right? What if they can still attack me?"

"Did you forget how that Death Dweller exploded in front of you?"

"I do but... What if... what if there's a second one that's actually hiding inside my head and is waiting for a chance to attack?"

Elihim silently stared at Hresha while she make up things. Although that's a possibility, she doesn't really believe that. She felt like her nerves are about to break down if Elihim continued his silence.

"So what are you trying to say?"

Fortunately for her, Elihim asked. He wanted to cross his arms but pitifully can't since he only has one right now.

"I don't know too..." Hresha dryly laughed afterward.

"The camp isn't that big. If that will happen, even though I'm pretty it will not, you can just call out to me."

"Ah... but..."

"But what? I want to sleep, can't you make it quick?"

Hresha then thought of something.

"Did they you give you a comfortable bed?"

"... no?" even Elihim was getting confused.

"I have the most comfortable bed!" Hresha confidently stated.

"Are you boasting?"

But Elihim was unable to pick it up.

"A-are you actually dense?"

"?"

"I'm saying that you should sleep with me."

"What?" Elihim frowned, "Why would I do that?"

Hresha made a complicated expression and finally said, "Actually, after all that happened tonight, although I've solved a lot of problematic things emotionally... I'm still a bit scared."

She would never say such things that will show her weakness like this. But since Elihim figuratively saw her inside-out, she was just embarrassed to admit it but it's doable.

"Ah..." Elihim nodded in understanding.

"Just this one night, please! I don't think I'll be able to sleep well, remembering all those monsters." thinking that it was not enough, Hresha added more, "And... isn't this your fault in the first place?"

She shrunk a little as she knew well what she said was risky. But unexpectedly, Elihim didn't rebuke her since he said earlier that he was fixing his mistake. Even though he already somehow fixed it, this is still its aftereffects.

"But... aren't you worried sleeping with a man?"

"A man?" Hresha immediately cracked a smile while looking at this child, "Didn't you say that you're just eight?"

"Well, that's true..." Elihim thought over it but he didn't like the idea of it. Ever since he met the princess, he had never slept with another woman even though he met a lot that sort of took his interest. But what Hresha said is true, he's just eight. It's not like he has the hormones that would make him commit a sin and even if he did, he's confident that he can control himself.

He had literally met a goddess once and easily controlled himself when she offered her virginity to him.

Finally, it's also because what Hresha said isn't a lie. She's actually terrified and that she internally relies on Elihim. He knows that because that was his plan all along... to get her admiration and become her 'only' pillar of support.
